[Gives the SFC a gentle flick, giving the camera a wry smile. Seems like he's managed to get rid of all signs of his wet arrival, minus his damp clothes. He's trying very hard to forget the whole incident for your benefit.]

So what, all I get for gracing you all with my presence is this booklet and this horrendous tunic? No welcome party, no parades, no nothing? Geez. Not to mention there's water in places you don't deserve to even know about.

[He pouts his pretty boy pout, looking very hurt indeed.]

Ah, well, I'll forgive you this time. I'm sure that there should be plenty of hunnies out there to cheer me up, yeah? We can have a party of our own now that the great Zelos is here!

Oh, and Lloyd and friends? That includes my dear, voluptuous hunny, my darling angel, my cool beauty, and my precious little one-- If you're here, you're invited, too. Don't leave a man hanging, hmm?

[With a wink and a grin, he turns off the feed.]

[So he doesn't remember, that confirmed it.]

As much as another me'd drive the crowds crazy, I don't think it's really possible.

[When Zelda sees the video, she doesn't bother to respond with the SFC. Today has been... difficult to say the least, and her main support is currently comatose. Just seeing Zelos' face is an immense relief. She doesn't even pay attention to what he says, she just hurries to the plaza, running right at him and hugging him suddenly.]

Zelos...

[Honestly! Usually when people are gone temporarily it's only for a few days! She thought he was really, really gone - but here he is, wearing the same lopsided grin as ever.]

Welcome back.

[Oh hello there, hunny, getting up and personal, huh? Not that he's surprised, or anything, his hunnies have never understood the concept of personal space...]

Hey, hunny! I love it when you're enthusiastic like this, it's so cute.

[Except he hates it, why do people touch him without permission? What is he supposed to do now, anyway? Hug back this stranger?]

[Hunny. Not Zelda-hunny, just hunny. Not to mention his tone of voice... After a year of living with him, she can tell one of his genuinely happy tones from the face he puts on for most people, and this is not one of them. She pulls back slowly, looking at him like she's seen a ghost.

Does he not remember? She'd forgotten in the moment that could even be a possibility. She stares at him numbly, not speaking again just yet as she tries to process that possibility.]

[This...wasn't what she was expecting to see. Zelos just gone a couple of days ago and now...]

I suppose it would depend on the party, wouldn't it?

[Wait, is that-?]

[It is! It's gotta be!]

[Nope, pretty much everything that Zelos just said went in one ear and out the other. Zelos is back! Back and just, you know, being himself. That's the important message here!]

[He takes a step back and puts his hands on his hips. Having distance between them allows him to move past his usual thought process when interacting with women, since...

This isn't Tethe'alla, or even Sylvarant or even Aselia. Why should she be hugging him? It looks like she knows him, though. How...?]

Hey. Have we-- met before?

A grand welcoming party! With lots of good food and pretty hunnies, all in my honor!

Zelos! Man, it took you long enough! Where are you?

[Come on, just tell him. He owes you a whack for that disappearing act.

And maybe a crushing hug for a moment. Maybe. Because Zelos is back!]

[Zelos was one of her first close friends outside of her family, and he taught her so much. He'd become her family, really. To lose that right now especially is almost unbearable.

No, it is unbearable. She can't handle it, not today. She just can't. She shuts down somewhat, staring at him blankly as he asks if they've met.]

I see. So you've come back without your memories. I see...

[She turns to go. It's wrong of her, she knows. She'll have to make it up to him later.]

The brochure should adequately explain the basics of the situation here. Please do not discard the tunic even if it is not to your tastes, it will allow you to breathe underwater. [A wave of relief washes over him when he lays eyes on a familiar face. All this talk of "foreigners" in that booklet got him just a tiny bit nervous.

He grins.] Hey, I'm just fashionably late! Can't you be a bit more grateful that I'm even here?

I think I'm in some sort of plaza. There's a huge piece of coral here, can't miss it.

[Didn't Zelda say he left a while ago? If he has...he might not remember anything from his time here.

...she shouldn't mention what happened last time he was here, should she? He might not remember - if he does, he doesn't remember what it looks like. She turns the video on, smiling and hugging her dog - a red border collie.]

Zelos! You're back!

[He watches her face carefully as she moves, tries to understand how she could go from joyous in one moment to blank in another.

"Memories"? Talking as if he's been here before, like that man from earlier.

Before he can come up with any conclusions, she turns her back to him. There's too much he doesn't understand, too many questions to ask. He comes up with a few false starts, but ultimately fails at getting out a comprehensible sentence.

With a sigh, he folds his hands behind his head and watches her walk away. There isn't even any use in introducing himself, she already knows his name. He'll have to come back to see her tomorrow, then.]

My dear, sweet angel! [That comes out a little louder than he intended and he attempts to cover it up with a wide grin.]

I'm definitely here now, that's for sure. Don't know anything about coming back, though. [Slowly inching that thought under the rug.] Did you miss me?

[Aaah...so he really doesn't remember. They finally started talking about Chosen things seriously without him backpedaling terribly too...

She nods, petting the dog.]

Yeah. You were the first to arrive after I did, before Lloyd and some of the others.

[Including Mithos. She won't mention that though.]

[It's not right to cry onto a stranger, and she won't inflict that on him, even if a small irrational part of her is angry with him for forgetting. It's not his fault, though. It's the scientists running this place and she knows it. Zelda can't help but feel that this is a punishment for all her meddling and poking around. Even if it is, she can't afford to stop.

She heads home to cry it out on Guy, even if he's not awake to hear her ranting.

Still, she's true to her word the next day. Zelda heads to the Welcome Center bright and early, steeled for what might be to come. This Zelos could be from a different time period than the one she knew, but if he's anything like him, he won't just leave their encounter at that. She'll have to be ready for him.]

[Bites back a sigh.] Hold up, let me just get this straight. You're saying I've actually been here before?

[He walks into the Welcome Center with some hesitation, as if he's not sure if this is really a place he belongs in. It doesn't take long to find Zelda - he's not one to forget a pretty face, not to mention one as unique as hers.

At first his steps are cautious, but he quickly eases into his usual, confident stride as he approaches her.]

Hey. Zelda, right? I think I have a few things I need to clarify.

[She nods.]

You were here for a while, actually. You arrived around the end of December last year last time. I dunno if you were ever here before that though... I'd arrived in the beginning of that same December.

[He'd only left earlier this month, even.

She pats the dog on the head.] You're the one who went with me when I got Caramel!

I-- [He doesn't remember any of that. Cute dog, but he doesn't remember that, either.]

So basically what you're saying is that I'm having a bad case of amnesia right now, yeah?
