[Video] Has it been so long?

[ The video feed accidentally clicks on as Sora was looking at his calender on the phone. He's scrolling over it not really paying attention until the date actually catches his attention. His eyes go wide for a moment in surprise and then a soft smile settles on his face. He really should pay more attention to these sort of things, but it's easy to lose track of time in the bubble. ]

Wow, I've been here a year already.

[ Sora laughs lightly. ]

Man, I can't believe I missed my birthday too. That's so lame.

[ Despite the realization Sora doesn't seem too bummed out about it. The past few weeks had been well...interesting to say the least. ]

[Actually they kind of talked about it, but he figures that's private. Also it's just weird to think about that talk having happened.]

Did you work it out?

[ Excuse Sora while he turns a shade of pink remembering what happened that day. How they'd both ended up down on the sand side by side, that kiss... ]

Ah...yeah, everything's been fine. We're back to normal.

[ Though back to normal meant Sora pretending the kiss hadn't happened and that they were nothing but friends. Well the latter wasn't not true. They'd never stopped being friends. ]

[Yeah, he sees that blush, bro.]

Just normal?

[ It's not going away is it? Damn it he's never been good at hiding his blushes! ]

Ah...yeah....perfectly normal.

[ Sora really you're a horrible liar. ]

If something happened, you can tell me.

[ Yeah but would Riku want Roxas to know? Probably not, but then Roxas was like a brother to Sora so it should be okay if he told right? ]

Well...he...

[ Oh great the blush was getting worse, Sora could feel it. ]

He kissed me.

[Riku's opinion doesn't matter much anyway.]

He kissed you?

Ah... Well, that's good, right?

[ Hey now. ]

Y-yeah...it...it wasn't long but...

[ Sora put his hand over his heart. For a second he looked almost hurt. ]

I...I think I know what you meant now.

[Roxas frowns in confusion.]

...but you're still just friends?

It's better that way.

[ Sora forced a smile. ]

This way nothing changes and we can still be friends. Riku doesn't like me like that anyway, he was just testing things.

[ But that didn't mean that Sora hadn't started to realize otherwise. ]

Oh...

[Just testing? So... Riku thought he might, but then the kiss proved he didn't? That seems worse somehow.]

Sorry, then.

[ The smile stayed on his face. Honestly he didn't know if that's how Riku had felt about it, but nothing had changed, and Riku hadn't said anything otherwise. ]

It's okay! No big deal.

[ At least that's what Sora was trying to tell himself. ]

[Sora, he knows you better than that. He's been you.]

I think it's at least a small deal.

Ah...

[ Yeah he should have known better than to try and trick Roxas. The smile fades and he looks down and away from the SFC. ]

It...I don't want to lose Riku as a friend. If trying to be something more than that changes everything then I don't want to risk it. I care about him too much to lose him like that.

...I know.

It just- kinda sucks. Wanting something more and not being able to have it. I guess you're supposed to get over that kind of stuff, right?

Yeah, and I'll be okay.

[ Sora forced a smile again, though it took a bit more effort than the last time. ]

I love him enough not to push it.

[Wow. The L-word.

... Of course, Sora would probably use it for any of his friends. Roxas just generally avoids it.]

Y-yeah. I'm sure it'll work out.

[ Of course he did. Sora would have used it for Roxas too if the situation called for it. The love he felt for Riku -- that was was starting to shift. Maybe it had started with Roxas planting the thought in his head, or maybe it had just taken that one kiss for Sora to realize it. Either way, all Sora knew now was that when he thought about that moment up on the island, it hurt. ]
