This is a curse, yes - shittier than any other one I've seen - though I haven't got a clue what kind of bird you're supposed to be.

Figures that you wouldn't remember, as long as you were gone. Yes, you were. I'm guessing you got the explanation on other stuff if you know what curses are, but the scientists in charge have a habit of nabbing people, sending them back, then bringing them here again at will like we're some kind of fucking playthings for them. And the longer you're absent, the less likely you are to remember anything from your time here before.
