[Ah, Vatheon. How lovely it must be for all of you who are topside right now. Surely you are enjoying the sun, the shade, the lovely ocean water and beautiful sea life~

... But then. Are those the sound of hooves?]

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

[And now a shriek! A panicked shriek of a damsel in distress! Could someone be hurt, is someone drowning? Oh, whatever is going on now?]

Oh, oh, no, no, no, this is awful! Simply dreadful! Oho, how could this have happened!?

[For anyone watching or even on the island right now, she will make herself known: a beautiful white mare shivering and tromping about in the sand. Oh, it's sticking to her hooves! Her beautifully polished hooves! Rarity barely realizes she's tapped the communicator beside her, nor does she pay attention to the lovely vest. (Really, Princess Zelda, the shade is lovely, but Rarity is currently preoccupied with more important things!)

Pawing at the sand and with tears in her big blue eyes, she sniffles.]

O-oh. My poor mane. A-and my coat. Ooh, it's all ruined!

[Rarity glances out at the water beside her and before a wave can touch her hooves she tiptoes to the side.]

Oh, but this is absolutely no time for a vacation. I was in the middle of a very important ceremony! Is there no way for me to return?

I'm afraid not.

[Unable to help himself, he tugs on a bit of his hair in nervousness. He really doesn't want her to panic again!]

However, most do inevitably return at some point- and it is as if they never left. You return exactly as you were, at exactly the same moment of time. That is what I have heard from others, although I haven't experienced it myself.

I do hope that happens to be the case. I cannot leave my friends. Especially Twi–

[... Are you fiddling with your hair. Rarity pauses when she sees that but then surprisingly she trots over to get a better look.]

Darling, must you tug at your hair? You might damage it!

[Now it's her turn to have her ears droop. Sniff... sniffle.]

As if I am one to talk. Oh, just look at me. I am a complete and total disaster!

[His hand snaps down guiltily to his side again. Stupid accursed habit- Vatheon seems to have made him more open with it.]

...Would you like a towel to clean up with? I have brushes and other things at my disposal as well.

[Those big eyes of hers widen even more and slowly she nods. Then even offers a smile.]

Those would be lovely.

[The smile does him in. He's already her slave. Well, he was her slave from the start just because she's a pony, but, still.]

[For a brief moment, a captchalogue card seems to pop into existence before expelling its towel pile cargo and then disappears again. Darkleer takes one of the more used ones to lay down flat on the sand before pulling out his horsecare products as well and laying them down neatly. Then he takes on of his fluffiest towels and offers it to her.]

Do you need any assistance?

[Rarity starts a little when she sees him suddenly pull things out of nowhere, but she figured it must be some form of magic she's just never tried before, and calms just as quickly. That is, until she sees the wonderful array of products before her. And a fluffy towel! Oh, and all by a lovely ocean view.

Rarity is sold.

Beaming, she gratefully accepts the towel. Her horn glows a pale blue as she uses her magic to manipulate and dry off her mane.]

Well... If you would not mind helping me dry my tail, I would be very grateful.

[The only other pony of her kind is Rainbow Dash that Darkleer's met- and Fluttershy once upon a very long once upon a time, but they didn't have a chance to speak much. Watching Rarity using her horn is fascinating, and Darkleer just barely manages to stay on the ball as he takes another fluffy towel and moves to help dry her tail. Like in most things he does, he's very gentle.]

I do not believe I caught your name, madam.

[He's so gentle! Once she takes the towel off of her head to reveal her hair bouncy and perfect just as it had been before, Rarity bats her eyelashes over at him. It's a wonder how her makeup has managed to stay so nice too.]

Heavens, what sort of lady am I to have not introduced myself? Please, call me Rarity, darling~

[He has to be! Or else everything he touches will be destroyed.]

Yes, one would certainly be sorely mistaken to think they could get away with being boorish with me. But, oh, the world is full of ponies, some of which do not have the most darling of personalities. 'tis a bit of a shame, but life all the same, no?

[Oh! Anything else? ... Well.]

Hmm... If I truly am going to be staying here for a while, I suppose it would be beneficial to become better acquainted with the locals. Now then! Would you be so kind as to tell me about yourself? You must be so interesting!

Well, I'm not entirely sure how interesting I might be, but I will do my best...

I'm an engineer, with a fair bit of medical skills as well. I've been hoping to utilize them to help with our recent move to the island. One of my specialties happens to be in robotics, as a matter of fact.

Robotics? Goodness, that must take quite a bit of time and patience. I can certainly appreciate one who dedicates themselves to that, seeing as I am a pony who adores the little details~

Have you made many things?

I'm quite honored that you think so, then. [A slight bow of his head.]

I have. Vatheon does give one an awful lot of time and, previously, a fair amount of resources. I built many things. If you'd like, I could give you an example.

[She immediately seems excited about this, those eyes of her glimmering in curiosity.]

Oooh, I would love a demonstration! Do show me, won't you?

[He thinks for a moment on what robot to show her. Normally, he would go with the dogs but they're with Mituna now as ever faithful guardians. Some of the others, like the gorilla, seem like they would be a bit too... bulky for her tastes.]

[Coming to a decision, he opens up his sylladex again and one of the cards deposits a sleek robotic cat onto the sands. It's a sleek thing, segmented a bit so that it has all the flexibility a normal cat has, and promptly draws itself up from its landing crouch. Blue lit up eyes survey Rarity coolly.]

[She waits patiently, watching and smiling all the while in silence, but when that little robot cat shows up-

-Rarity practically explodes.]

OH MY STARS, DARLING~!

[The blue eyes remind her of Opal, her pet cat from home, and she crouches down to get a better look at it.]

She is beauuuutiful~ So sleek and her eyes are practically like sapphires! How ever did you make such a lovely thing?

[Like so many cats, the robokitty preens itself a bit as Rarity looks over it. Darkleer looks rather pleased at the reaction.]

Well, it was easier down in the city as I had the appropriate supplies- metals and wiring, et cetera. I wouldn't want to bore you with the details. I believe most find them a bit too complicated.

[She wants to reach out and pet it, but Rarity respects the cat's space, instead resorting to resting on her belly, front leg crossed.]

Oh, no, no, no. You could not possibly bore me. I love to hear about others.

[Look how she bats her eyelashes at you. Look at it.]

[Trust him, he's looking, and melts in record time.]

Well, if you insist... I tend to keep away from humanoid figures as myself, since I find forms such as felines and ponies such as yourself to be considerably more interesting. It's more of a challenge to get them down to perfection.

Have you ever created a pony before? Certainly all of that work takes you a considerably amount of time, does it not?

As said before, we do have a lot of time here. I believe I've been here for around two years. I am also very quick with my hands with matters like these... It's a passion of mine, as I'm sure you understand.

I have created a couple of hoofbeasts, but nothing truly beats the real thing, you understand.
