[By the time Leo comes back (and he does come back! Dirk almost wasn't expecting it) Dirk's a little pink in the face himself.]

I tend to find guys more attractive. But my point was more specifically about you, since you were so skeptical about it.

[It's more of a surprised repetition than an actual question. There's a difference between "hot" and "You have looks that people could be attracted to."]

[He hoped he'd recovered enough there, but probably not. All of it was true, but maybe ending on that note would make this less awkward and embarrassing than it was.]
