Wow. I can't imagine being here a year. Three weeks seems long enough! Although I did get lucky, I guess, and my boyfriend and friend came along for the ride.

We went on missions, fighting Heartless and stuff. They're- like monsters on our worlds.

Ahh. Yep, fighting monsters is something I know a little about. Are they vicious?

...I never really thought of them as vicious. They do everything on instinct. It's not like it's personal.

Interesting. What exactly are they?

They're creatures of darkess, born when a person's heart is lost to the dark.

That sounds kind of sad. Although a lot of the monsters with Greek origins that I've fought have sad pasts too.

Greek? Umm, like Cerberus and that dragon with lots of heads? Do they all have too many heads...?

Can a person regain their heart?

[ Annabeth laughs kindly. ] You got it. Too many of them do but not all of them. Some just have one big head and that's enough. Although if I never fought a Hydra again it'd be too soon.

Yeah, but... That can be sad, too.

[ Annabeth notices straight away that she's hit on a difficult, yet potentially interesting topic. ] Oh, hey, we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. I don't want to accidentally take advantage of the curse.

No worries. There are plenty of things I wouldn't want to talk about either.

Yeah. Which is why this curse is so dangerous. I wonder what the gods of this place are thinking.
