( 002 ) ♔ ( a wild saber appears on the network; video )

[ Upon telling a newcomer that they should introduce themselves to Vatheon on the network, the King of Knights realized she hadn't done that. She often avoids the network, preferring to meet face-to-face.

Now she has a reason to announce her presence. She's on the Defense Force, and would like to at least be recognized on the street when she's doing her duties and as someone who can help. ]

Greetings. I am called Saber, and I have been in Vatheon for a little over a month. I'd like to make it known that I am the Division Leader of the Pirate Quadrant for the Defense Force.

Hopefully, I may be able to meet more of the Defense Force members. And if you are not a member, do feel free to stop me on the streets if you wish to speak or would like help. I will assist you how I can. [ That's kind of limited to activities involving her sword, but regardless.. ]

I look forward to working with those on the Defense Force. [ And Saber's feed cuts off there, but she'll hop on the SFC quickly should someone reply. ]

Yup! I've geared up some incredible devices in my day, too!

This world doesn't have as many cool parts to work with or as many cool high-techy ruins to swoosh through, though. That part's been kinda boring.

[pendragon]

Ah, so you specialize in devices. I see. Can you do anything with the SFCs? [ Saber wouldn't even know what to modify on it, but she hadn't thought about it before. ]

[mysterious_groper]

I'm not so sure that's a good idea, to be honest. If you want the details, we can meet in person, okay?

[ Forgive Saber, Pascal. She's not used to this sneaking around and being watched idea. ] No, that's fine. I was just attempting to compare what type of work you did with something I could relate to.

[mysterious_groper]

Well, I've made a bunch of other things! Like my shotstaff, for one!

*Pascal zooms the video feed out to show off her weapon. Which... Doesn't look like much, really.*

..And.. what does it do? [ ..It's just a staff, isn't it? Pascal speaks as if it does more, though. ]

[mysterious_groper]

I raise it, I put a few Cryas shards in one end, and giant kersplodey beamy thingies hit whatever the other end's pointing at! Easy as can be!

[pendragon]

So.. it turns into a type of ranged explosive.. attack? [ Saber's trying to imagine it. Something along the lines of a ball of fire spitting out from one end of the staff, like a spell. ] Do you use the staff to fight without the.. .. kersplodey thingies?

[ Why did that feel so awkward to say? ]

Well it's heavy enough to swat someone with, but if they get close, that's why my Artes are for.

Artes? [ What in the world would that be? Since the word sounds so foreign, Saber can't even guess. ]

[mysterious_groper]

Well, I guess they're kinda like magic? You mumble words, and the ground around you explodes. Or freezes. Or... You get the idea.

[pendragon]

Magic. Understood. [ There was enough of that in her home world, after all. ]

[mysterious_groper]

Sorta. It's actually based on Cryas manipulation, so it's not the purest idea of magic, but...

[pendragon]

[ Manipulation, magic.. it was all generally the same to Saber. ]

Are you able to apply this Cryas to blades?

[mysterious_groper]

Not really. Not the way I do things, at least. I mean, it's possible, I just dunno how.

[pendragon]

I see. I only use my sword, which is why I asked. [ A nod. ]

[mysterious_groper]

Oh. Then I'm not going to be a massive pile of help, sorry. Well, other than blasting anyone who's in the way of what you want to hit. I do that a lot.

[pendragon]

Perhaps we'll be in battle together, someday. [ The knight smiles softly as she says it. Pascal says it's not quite magic, so.. perhaps it would be of more interest to Saber than normal magic. ]

Well, we don't really get much combat around here these days, so...
