Plan 2 → [video]

[ Have one demigoddess daughter of Athena, Vatheon.

She's a little shaken up after her first curse week because she's not one to open up to people too quickly, even at the best of times. Her strategic warrior mind says that is a nono. However, the tell-no-lies curse had quickly put an end to that.

And how. This last week she has given away her demigoddess heritage (another nono), her thoughts on the attractiveness of others (boyfriend equals a nono here too), her night-time activities with said boyfriend (BIG NONO) and what colour panties she is wearing (…does she even have to say it?).

As a result, this post will be short, sharp and to the point. In the name of science research. ]

Hey bubble. I notice that the items in Nostalgia Nook actually cost something when everything else round here is free. Even housing and such. Any idea why?

[ She won’t mention the experiments that the scientists are doing on the captives here in her initial post as they are monitoring the network, but she strongly suspects the two topics are linked. She’s keen to talk about them if she gets a more secure line of communication though. ]

Nostalgia Nook shit is from out of this world, literally. Makes sense that it'd be restricted, though depending on what you're looking for, you can get plenty of the same things here in Vatheon for free. As long as you don't mind a nautical theme.

[Cultural sensitivity to trolls, what is that, he doesn't care. He is totally willing to help in the name of science research, though.]

Jobs ain't hard to find around, though, so if you're that determined to get shit from home, you won't have too much trouble.

Could be. But if that were the case, they'd be more likely to either not provide us with things from our world at all, or make us do something more significant than simply get a job, in order to get them back.

There's plenty of shit to learn. Doesn't help that the people in charge around here are close-mouthed fucks, and we don't know all there is to find out. Breaking the bubble got us plenty more deets, but I'm not about to suggest it every time we want to learn one little thing.

All fucking sorts of things, about the nature of this place and the technology that runs it. We harpooned ourselves a regular goddamn Moby Dick on this one.

Whenever you're open for it. One of the benefits of having almost everything here free is that it tends to result in a very flexible schedule.

Everyone makes that discovery sooner or later. Doesn't mean we don't try, just means that we don't obsess over it until we're presented with a legitimate opportunity.

[He raises an eyebrow.] That so? Yeah, I know him. We've been talking, mostly about robots and shit.

Don't try. Just channel it into something productive. Borrow someone's SFC and scan the old shit on the network. Examine the parts of the bubble where old shit went down. There's plenty of reminders of how things have changed since us foreigners arrived. Because of us, or otherwise.

That's my kind of guy. It's damn hard to find people who'll keep up when I start talking about power sources and joints.

My entire goddamn life has been staving off boredom. I'm an expert, by now. If you're that interested, I could lend mine.

Robots are the main thing I build, and largely humanoid ones, at that. It's not my only interest, just the one that tends to be physically manifested most often.

Call me up and I can deliver it.

Yeah, one of the reasons me and Roxy grabbed the house we did. The other was the number of bedrooms. [Which has seemed largely irrelevant for most of the time they've been in the bubble, but hey, they had their friends here once, surely it can happen again.] I can't say I'm the biggest fan of architecture myself, but hell, I'm willing to get schoolfed.

This may shock you to discover, but I do. I'm over at Six with a friend from home. Been here since we got here.

[Dirk actually leans toward his screen when she pulls it out and starts fiddling with it.]

Holy shit, you've got yourself a deal. What is it, anyway? That looks advanced as shit.

That doesn't sound magic so much as advanced, and those two get edgy at some point anyway. I'll take your word for it.

[He's still leaning forward to catch what glimpses he can.]

At least. Can't say I'd be a good judge for things relative to your time, but fully functioning automatons take a while to develop, and if they can work even after sitting around exposed for years, I'd sure as hell like to see how he built them.

Hell fucking yes. [He even grins briefly. Looking at new automatons, even when he doesn't have them here in person, are one of his favorite things.]

We're doing it. We're making it happen.
