[video] Summer in the Flower Shop

*First thing on the screen is a black and white cat, whose fur resembles a tuxedo. On his head is what would be a daisy chain, only it's made of pink carnations instead. The cat sniffs at the screen, bumping it with his nose, then reaches even closer to give it a lick with his tongue. There's a giggling, that certainly isn't the cat! Selphie's face appears close to the screen, next to the cat, wearing her own crown of pink flowers*

Hi Vatheon!~

*Selphie scoops the cat up in her arms, and he looks more than happy to have the attention*

Moses and I just wanted to tell you that your local flower shop is back in business! The seeds and seedlings needed lots of care after the flooding but... they've beaten the odds! Aya, the owner, is still in his coma... I think... but I'll be more than happy to help as best I can!~

*When she moves back from her SFC, Selphie reveals a table full of cupcake decorated with little flowers on*

[Aya nods with a smile, preparing the soup for reheating.]

Do you have other plans for the rest of the day?

*Selphie stands a little behind him and watches him stir the soup*

Nopes. Do you? I mean, I know you're just awake but I figured you'd have people you wanna see, stuff you wanna do.

[As he's stirring, Aya looks to Selphie curiously.]

I don't have anyone I'd like to see. [He so did not have any friends.]

*Selphie looks back just as curiously*

Well, why not? What about all the people who missed you when you were asleep?

...like who? [He's sure he'll see Shiemi whenever he gets to the flower shop.

*Selphie frowns a little and folds her arms over her chest*

[Now would be a good time to state that he doesn't have any, but he's not sure if that's wise. Selphie could make him go out in the world and get some, or he could just stay silent and let Selphie come to her own conclusion.]

[But when was he ever the one to really think before he speaks?]

What friends? [Acquaintances, sure, like Angelina, but actual friends? Not any he could think of.]

*Oh dear, Selphie's beginning to look quite frustrated about all of this. Her nose wrinkles slightly as she frowns some more*

What are you talking about? You must have plenty of friends!

*But for as much as she doesn't want to believe it, she has a horrible feeling that he's being quite honest*

What about all the people you've met, and your customers? Aren't any of those your friends?

No. [He wasn't as outgoing as the other members of his teams, mostly due to his own fault. Aya turns his attention to the soup and stirs it, so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan.] Maybe my definition of friends is different than everyone else's. Why are you upset about this? [He bends down a little as he adjusts the burner, setting it to low.]

Because. It's really, really important to have friends. What would you do if I ended up in a coma for a month? Who would you have fun with and talk to?

*Selphie took a deep breath, worrying as she looks at Aya. But she didn't want to be too upset with him, and put a hand on his back*

I hope your definition of friends doesn't mean you wind up kissing everyone like that...

[ASDFGHJKL WHY WOULD SHE SAY THAT?!]

[Aya hued before turning to her, crossing his arms. Once he speaks, he looks less flushed.]

I've done that already, for a longer time than a month. It wasn't fun.

*Selphie lowers her eyes, focusing on his arms instead, because she didn't want to look up at his face. Her own voice softened*

But didn't you feel...so alone?

*Because hello, this is abandonment issue girl with the chronic fear of loneliness, and she is so worried for him not having any friends*

I didn't really feel alone. I had a lot of other things to take care of. [Like slitting Takatori's neck.]

[He places a hand under her chin, wanting her to look at him.] I didn't, and couldn't, really trust anyone, and even now I choose whom I want to know better wisely.

Ya know, you can have things to take care of, and take care of them, and still have friends...

*She wouldn't have done half as much killing if it weren't for her friends, anyway. Selphie still keeps her eyes downcast when he touches her chin, but she does attempt a small smile*

You've sure picked a funny friend here...

Maybe now, it's possible. [Aya sighs softly, because things like this are difficult to explain. The hand at her chin travels to her cheek. He gives his own weak smile.]

Hey...

...I hope so.

*Selphie finally looks up at him, biting her lip with her eyes full of concern. She's not really sure what to say, beyond pleading for him to find friends, only for him not to like them as much as he seems to like her. But she says nothing, just smiles a little*

I'll give my word that I'll be careful of the friends I kiss, only if you don't get upset about my pace for making friends. Deal?

*Selphie's face broke out into an instantly relieved smile, and she even laughs. Nodding, she holds a hand against the one on her cheek*

That depends...how careful is careful?

I think this might be where you make up the rule about that, isn't it? [Because isn't that what girlfriends do? Are they dating now?? Aya thinks so...but still isn't sure. Maybe her answer can shed some light.]

*Selphie blinks at him rapidly, so confused and blushing to show it. Someone help her, she's never done this before. What does this even mean? She does her best to control her breathing, eyes darting to look elsewhere*

Oh! Right! Well...if it was up to me...then the rule would be that. That. Well, that that...those sorts of things, they should be for me only. You know, just me. And not anyone else. But then, maybe it shouldn't really be a rule. More like...an agreed thing because maybe you don't wanna do that with anyone else and maybe I don't wanna do that with anyone else. I mean, I know I don't want to...just you. But then, I don't even know what you think. So maybe, I'd say, I'd say you should save all those..uhm, feelings for me...but I don't know what you're thinking or feeling or any of those things, so I guess... I don't know? Maybe? Yes?

*Selphie swallows hard, aware that she was perhaps saying too much, too quickly*

[Yes, that was a lot of information to decipher.]

[So he's supposed to save that kinda stuff for her, even though she's not really telling him to do so. It's more of an implication than a demand, but with women, implications aren't usually just that. At least he knows that much.]

[And then he realizes that he's probably staring too much and should speak up.]

So...I know that you know that you don't want to do things like that with other people, and I'm certain I don't want to, either. However...

[He rubs the back awkwardly.]

Are you going to save those feelings for me?

*Well that was awkward, because Selphie finds that she's just staring back at him. And staring some more. Just waiting for him to say something, and she probably wasn't even breathing. But at his question she stumbles as she takes a step closer to him, looking incredibly serious*

Yes! All of them! They're already all saved up!
