[The feed comes to life and there is nothing more then the sound of scuffling as someone tries to balance the weight of an egg and communicate with this new toy. This is confirmed as the boy comes into the view. He stands tall, looking confused and can't be more then a 11 or 12 years of age at the most.

Slowly he balances the yellow striped egg within his hand and tucked neatly under his arm. He stares at the screen, blinking once, twice, and speaks.]

This place is kind of a dump.

[He rolls his eyes and throws the pamphlet that had previously been handed to him, to the side. ]

No need for this thing, but hey can someone tell me just how I managed to end up here. I know the pamphlet speaks a lot about nothing and it's not really anything that I need to know. I'm assuming we aren't in Johto anymore or the forest for that matter.

[There was a moment of silence as he came to this knowledge.]

Wait! What about the old lady and the fight! Are they going to be ok? I guess I took this egg without their permission...then. [A beat once more.] Well that doesn't really matter now, hey how about some answers!?

I apologize for the state of the pamphlet. I'm working on a new edition to replace that one soon.

[Grey skin, orange horns... No, she's not a Pokemon. No Pokemon talks this much.]

The current version does answer you questions, and does include details you should know about... but I will help anyway. You're not in Johto, or even the same planet that you came from. You are trapped here, and possibly for a long time. I've been here for more than a year. We aren't entirely sure why this happens, but some of us believe that we were brought here by a group of scientist for their own strange and possibly hostile reasons.

You need not worry about the state of your homeworld; if you get sent back you will return to the exact moment you left with no memories of this place. It's as if this never happened.

[Whoa, this is weird. She certainly has a color of a pokemon, but she is talking. Pokemon don't usually talk. At least she offers some good information. ]

Did you know you are grey? I mean thanks for all the info and stuff, it kind of makes me feel better. No, scratch that, it really doesn't, but as long as people don't need me back there and everything is okay then. I guess this is just another task to accomplish.

[Pause.]

You are grey though and you have horns, it's a little weird.

I'm glad you understand the situation better. Did you know that you are pink, and hornless? It's quite weird.

[And just to start messing with him, Kanaya decides to turn on her glow. Her skin is now white, and literally emitting a soft light. She carries on as if nothing happened.]

It may have escaped your notice, but not everybody brought here comes from a world where humans are the dominant species.

[He visibly jump back at the sight of her lit up appearance. ]

Whoa! Again that is weird. You're like a walking night light, do you feel light headed?

[Oh god puns. No.]

Still not as weird as being born as tiny pink monkeys that have no horns, at least from my perspective. There are many different types of people here, and you would do well to keep an open mind about it.

No, well I mean sure I got a ton of questions, but I'm still amazed you aren't human. I mean Pokemon are animals and not humans but I've never seen an alien before. Are you from outer space? What if you are a pokemon, but just from a different planet.

Humans are just animals too, you know. Mammals, specifically. I'm not really sure what defines a pokemon as being any different than any other creature. From what I've seen it might as well just be another name for animals native to a certain world. Your world.

Your question about outer space, however is not really relevant. I am from a planet that is not earth. With outer space being defined as all points in the universe that contains earth but are not intersected with the points defined as Earth, then I would say my planet is not from outer space. You could not take a space ship from Earth to get to Alternia, nor from Alternia to Earth. Your world is as far from mine as it is from Vatheon.

We are mammals and if that is what humans are what does that make you?

That's a really weird concept to grasp, but hey I'm not one to doubt. After all I don't really know how I got here and where this exactly is, so I guess anything is possible.

I'm not incredibly well versed in human sciences, but from what I understand Trolls don't fit within your taxonomy. Our species meets criteria for Mammals, insects, and for certain sub-species, fish.

It's generally easiest if you don't put too much though into it, and treat anybody that talks like they're just any other person.

That's...a little hard to wrap my brain around, but I'll take your word for it. Less thought the better when it comes to the scientific ways of thought, I mean I'm pretty fantastic when I want to be and intelligent, but this is little beyond my pay grade. At least I can admit to that!

[A Pause.]

So you seem to know a lot about this place or rather the world beyond! Where are you from?

[He laughs a bit at that. ]

Well, I said that I'm from a planet called Alternia, but that's not entirely accurate. This isn't my first experience with multidimensional travel. when I was brought here to Vatheon I was living in a lab hidden in a chunk of rock floating in the space between universes.

Doesn't sound like an ideal vacation.

Vacation implies that I'd be going back eventually. The Mechanism responsible for trapping me on the meteor was also responsible for the devastation of my home planet.
