I had every intention to make my network debut far sooner than this; however, Vatheon seemed to have other plans for me.
For those of you that have not met me before, my name is Rose.
I've been informed that I've been here in the past, but I have no recollection of such an event.
Please excuse me if I do not recognize you.
For those of you that I saw when I first arrived several weeks ago, thank you for not admonishing me and my rather abysmal choices.
I would be hard pressed to say that I have fully recovered from the events of that day, but I am working on it.
Then there was the whole curse business that occurred just as I was settling in to a routine here.
The effects of which were quite disorientating once things returned to "normal."
I can only assume that it has affected many of you in a similar way.
If you need anyone to talk to about those events or anything else that might be bothering you, I am all ears.

How have you been since we last spoke?

Keeping busy. Working odd jobs as I can find them. I have a project I'm working on as well.

What sort of project, if you don't mind my inquiring?

It's a bit of a secret, I'm sorry.

I appreciate the offer more than you know.
However, I'm not in any need of someone to talk to right now.
I will keep your offer in mind should that change.

[Of course she needs someone to talk to. That was her whole purpose in making this post. Though she's not the sort to admit to that sort of thing, even under duress. Not that it was likely to come to that sort of extreme.]

[He recognizes the brush off, the kind of thing where you need exactly what the other person is offering but don't trust them enough to accept. He respects that; he gives the same response himself often enough.]

As you like. I worry with so many young people around the bubble, though the ones I've met so far seem quite capable.

There are a rather lot of us teenagers that have been brought here.
Many of us have been through more than others might expect us to be capable of handling.
The fact that we are still alive and able to be brought here to Vatheon speaks highly of our abilities to cope with whatever life may throw our way.

I understand if you don't wish to talk to me about this. We barely know one another, but while I do agree that many of the young people here are more than capable individuals that are able to rise to the challenges of life, you are still young. Experience comes with age, and one of the reasons adults care for children for so long is to impart their own experiences in the hopes that their mistakes can be avoided.

I have a very close friend who struggles with alcoholism and I have almost fallen into the bottle myself once or twice in an effort to escape painful events. If you want to talk, I will not judge you.

That's all well and good in theory, but parents do not always impart the best advice to their children.
Nor are they as present in their children's lives as long as is needed.
Though that is not always their own fault.
I greatly appreciate the offer and while I do trust you, I do no feel the need to discuss my relationship with the bottle.
As you can plainly see I am perfectly sober, elsewise I would not be typing as legibly as I am.
My writing would be riddled with grammatical and spelling errors to the point that it would be glaringly obvious that I was intoxicated.
