32nd Combo - [Video]
[You know what's a really bad way to wake up? Waking up inside of a coffin is what's a really bad way to wake up! In his initial panic at waking up trapped in that small, tight space, Lloyd doesn't even register the pendant hanging around his neck, or the picture lying in the coffin with him. No, Lloyd's panic means he's slamming against the walls, the lid-
Oh. The lid isn't locked. It slams open, allowing Lloyd to sit up and gulp grateful breaths of air.
Grateful until he realizes just what it is he's sitting in. With a yelp, Lloyd all but flies out of the box. Wait. Holy crap, those aren't his arms! That's not his body!]
What's going on?!
[...that isn't his voice, either!
A few minutes later, after Lloyd's spotted his reflection...]

LAHARL!
[Vatheon, that's one angry face shouting through the SFC. One angry demon face, not an angry teen.]
I don't know what you're up to now, but I swear I'll put a stop to it! Now give me back my body!

LAHARL!
[Vatheon, that's one angry face shouting through the SFC. One angry demon face, not an angry teen.]
I don't know what you're up to now, but I swear I'll put a stop to it! Now give me back my body!
[Well, if anyone wanted angry teen, here it is. There's even a growl coming out of the mouth that should belong to Lloyd.]
You think I want your body? A human body?
Get the hell out of there!
You're the one who took my body! You get out of mine first!
Like I'd waste that kind of energy on you! This isn't my fault!
Hah! I knew it! You really don't want to get out of my body! Dammit, what are you planning, Laharl?
[As focused as Lloyd is at scowling at the demon wearing his face, he doesn't notice that his scarf is starting to flap in the air behind him.]
I'm not planning anything with your body, idiot!
And you better not do anything in mine! I'm coming over there to take it back!
You can have it back just so long as you don't stick me in a coffin again! What would I even do with your body? The only thing your body makes me want to do is get dressed! I- Gah!
[And suddenly Lloyd's fighting against a scarf trying to wrap around his body. Struggling, one arm pinned, it's all Lloyd can do not to lose his balance.]
Hey! Dammit, Laharl, let me go!
[Because clearly this is Laharl's fault.]
[The feed shakes as Laharl heads out of... wherever he is. Apparently Lloyd lives in the middle of nowhere like a social reject.]
You humans and your excessive clothing-- it's not even winter!
What the hell are you doing? [That is not how you wear a scarf. Ugh, he's making Laharl look so uncool.]
[Hey, hey, he only lives out on the fringes of the forest because that's where the forge he uses is. His living out in the middle of nowhere has everything to do with a forge being too noisy and doesn't mean he's a social reject.]
It doesn't have to be winter to want to wear a shirt. Besides, clothes help protect you from stuff like the sun and bugs and thorns.
[Still struggling with the scarf, he shoots Laharl an incredulous, angry look. Is he really trying to play dumb here?]
I'm not doing anything! You are! You're the one controlling your scarf!
What am I, a vampire? I don't need protection from the sun.
[...he may not know about sunburn.]
And of course you're doing something! You're in my body, you're the one controlling my scarf. Or failing at it.
...vampires are just stories.
[Aren't they?]
But I dunno about demons, but humans can still get burned by the sun if you stay outside too long. Don't you know anything?
[Gah, finally! The scarf let go! Only now it's doing something weird, looping up to hover just above his head, like it's trying to shade him or something. Lloyd eyes it suspiciously.]
I think I'd know if I was the one controlling it. What are you doing now?
Says the idiot who thinks vampires aren't real. We have some living here.
And I'm walking. [Since he's got no idea how to summon those wings of yours. And, ugh... he'd better try to help with this scarf issue if Lloyd is going to keep doing lame stuff.] Look, you don't consciously think about moving your hands, do you? It's like that.
What? Wait, you're not serious, are you?
[Because alsdkfjaslk vampires.]
I know you're walking. I meant what are you trying to make your scarf do now?
[Maybe he should try to take it off to avoid the entire issue... He frowns at Laharl skeptically.]
But it's a scarf, not part of my body... or your body.
The hell're you so surprised about? They're just another kind of demon.
And as long as you're wearing it, it might as well be. It's no ordinary scarf.

[Body swapping again? He's glad he's left out this time. Being a puppy was fun for like five minutes last time but it got old quickly.]
no subject
[Lloyd frowns, not quite doubting, but not quite sure it can be as simple as that where Laharl is involved.]
A curse? Are you sure? I mean, Laharl's a demon. He might be planning something.
[Wait, why does this guy seem familiar? Lloyd hasn't seen too many people who look like elves, and even fewer with hair like this guy's. Well, actually, now that he's sifting through his memories, he kind of looks like an older version of that guy, Sola...]
I'm Lloyd Irving. Are you Sola's brother? I haven't seen you before.
no subject
[He shrugs then smiles a little. True, he and Lloyd hadn't parted on the greatest of terms, but but any memory from within Vatheon is better than the ones he has without.]
Hi Lloyd. No, it's me. I was gone for awhile but I'm back now.
no subject
What if he did it to more than one person? Maybe his scheme is bigger than I thought.
[Despite the accusation, there's a note of doubt creeping into Lloyd's voice. Just because he suspects Laharl, he's not going to just ignore someone else.
He blinks at the introduction, startled.]
Sola? But... You look older than you did before.
no subject
[Wow Sola, rude.]
Like I said, I've been gone for awhile. Nineteen years. I was told it was only a month here though.
no subject
He's not- Wait, you know Laharl?
[Okay, suddenly doesn't matter that they weren't all that close before Sola left. Lloyd boggles at him.]
Nineteen years?! They brought you back after that long?!
no subject
[He shrugs.]
I guess so.
[He has an idea about that. He'd been happy here and then they'd torn him away, and he dimly remembers Zelda saying something about happiness making them useless to the coral for energy.
And he's certainly not happy now, so that explains it.]
no subject
His vassal? [Lloyd frowns.] That's like a servant, right? If he treats you like that, why are you his friend?
[That doesn't seem very friend to him.]
But if it's been nineteen years for you, that's like... Even if we find a way back, we can't ever be sure they won't take us back here!
no subject
[He scratches the back of his head absently.]
I'd assume if we find a way back, we'd make sure they couldn't do that. I'd rather not go back, though.
no subject
He's not treating you badly, though, is he?
[Sorry if he looks a little skeptical, Sola.
The expression melts as soon as the other guy makes that last comment, quickly replaced by surprise.]
Why don't you want to go back?
no subject
[Sola shrugs. Laharl is just Laharl.]
I'm dead there. And all of my friends are here. It's pretty simple.
[Plus the part where he organized an army of monsters to ransack the land in Ganon's name and tried to murder the hero. Lloyd doesn't need to know that.]
no subject
What about compared to how you want to be treated? How normal people treat their friends?
[Lloyd winces at the answer to his question.]
You're... dead? But... but you're alive. You mean the coral just brought you back?
[Yeah, he probably doesn't need to know the rest. That might put a bit of a strain on things.]
