It's September already! Ve, time sure does fly by! Summer will be over before we know it. So to celebrate the last days of summer, I've made some summer-themed cookies

[ he pans the SFC over to show off some very summery cookies

he pans back to himself. He's practically beaming in excitement. Summer is a fun time of the year, after all, so celebrations are absolutely necessary. ]

They make me want to go to the beach and collect sea shells and sunbathe! Come get some at RED Bread in the plaza! I've made plenty so everyone can have some~.

[Monaka gazed a little too long at those cookies. The man had seemed kind, especially if he was a baker of some sort. He was trustworthy? He must have been. Who could deny such a bright smile?

She gathers herself for a moment, preparing herself to speak to someone through the video feature.]

Th-They... uhm... They look... beautiful.

They look delicious, Italy. You're a really talented chef...stars and other shapes! Nice! [Sewaddle was pushing his way forwards, so that he was now staring at the shaped cookies.]

Se-wad! Yes, aren't they nice, Sewaddle?

Ve, thank you! I'm glad you and Sewaddle like them! I have plenty if you'd like to taste all of them~

[ Italy is very chipper, smiling brightly. Behind him are lots of pastries on display like in a bakery. He's very friendly without a malicious bone in his body. ]

Ve, thank you! Would you like some? I made plenty~

[She nods before thinking to add a small smile to her face. Monaka was nervous at the very thought of seeing someone she didn't know, but it was a place of new and different things. And, she was sure, if her dear friend were here he would have told her to go and explore the world.

And enjoying cookies was exploring some of the world!]

I would... I don't have anything to bring for you in return.

[Honey's just kind of staring at the screen with wide eyes when the camera pans to those cookies.]

Those look amazing! And so cute!

Oh, we do! They look delicious. Where can I meet you to try some?

At my bakery? Have you been here before? It's in the plaza.

[ italy's quite friendly. A bit huggy but still friendly. ]

Si, of course! You're welcome to take as many as you like. I'll pack a box for you~

[When Honey enters the bakery, she glances around in wonder for a moment. She really should've taken the time to stop by here sooner, especially after discussing the place during that moment of weakness when she was disguised as Seira. Not that Italy will know it was her.

She approaches the counter with a bright smile on her face.]

It's wonderful how many people here are so interested in baking and cooking.
Back home I was a bit of a nerd for how much I liked it.
But then again, I was a nerd for a lot of reasons, hoo hoo.

Yes, that sounds a good idea. I am sure Sewaddle and I can find your bakery easily enough. [With that, he looked from the screen just ahead of himself.] I will meet you at the bakery soon!

[A few minutes later Burgh came rounding the corner of the Plaza and straight towards the bakery. Sewaddle perched atop his shoulder, he was smiling, as he saw the bakery sign. Opening the door, he walked in and looked out for Italy.]

[ Italy's not too hard to find, as he's off at the side behind the main counter, carefully decorating a fresh batch of cookies from homemade icing in a large metal mixing bowl. Hearing the door open, he offers a friendly wave. ]

Hi~! You made it!

There's no fault in knowing how to bake and cook! Lot's of people know how to cook back home. It's definitely good to know

[ the place looks like a small Italian restaurant, decorated with artwork, mostly paintings and a random Japanese scroll. There're places to sit and counter at the opposite end of the door, which is where Italy is, busy putting out a fresh batch of sun cookies.

He offers an excited wave at her. ]

Hi, hi~! Welcome~!

It wasn't that hard to find. Thanks for inviting Sewaddle and I to your bakery, Italy. It smells really good in here too! [Burgh's eyes shot around to all the nice pastries and breads, not to mention the huge oven too. Sewaddle began to crawl off Burgh's shoulder and onto the table where Italy was.]

Ve, I'm happy to have company! Would Sewaddle like some poffins? I have plenty~ [ he offers the critter a basket of freshly made poffins from various different berries he'd grown himself, thanks to seeds from other pokemon trainers. ]

Oh yes please! Sewaddle loves his poffins, don't you? [Burgh turned to see the Pokémon crawling towards Italy.]

It is very nice to hear you say that!
Hoo hoo, you and my dad would get along just fine.

[...Oh, she made herself sad.]

I'm Jane Crocker, by the way.
And yes, there is indeed a bit of a relation.

[Although she supposes not everyone is going to know who Betty Crocker is, now that she's said that. Oops.]

[ He's thinking of the wrong crocker. ]

You're related to Denzel Crocker?

[ Italy grins, offering up several different kinds of poffins, each with a different flavor. ] Take which ever you like~ I have plenty more in the back!

[Uhh, who? Jane will have to remember to ask Dirk or Roxy if they know who this "Denzel" fellow is.]

Betty Crocker was the one I was referencing, actually.
I wouldn't be surprised if she only exists in my world, though.
She was kind of particularly important to how everything was organized, there.
Is Italy short for something?

Oh! I think I've heard of her! American food, right? Though I thought that was a company. [ truly, who knows with America? He makes stuff up all the time and talks about aliens and watches horror movies with Japan. ]

Ve, I'm North Italy but most people just call me Italy. [ because being a country is perfectly normal. ]

Thank you! How about these, Sewaddle? [Burgh took some purple and green Poffins and gave them to Sewaddle. The Pokémon ate them up quickly and greedily.]

I think he likes them.

Eat as many as you like! I have plenty more. All the berries are fresh. I grow them in the back~

She's the head of the company.
I am, or maybe just was the heiress.

[She's trying so hard not to point out that that makes no sense because it doesn't, but she knows her friends would appreciate the effort.]

That doesn't sound fun at all! [ brainwashing seems to weigh a bit more heavily in the negative zone than running a food company weighs in the positive light. ]
