Prrrrrow?

[A kitten greets you on the network today, Vatheon. A very cute, very roly poly kitten. One who is pawing at an SFC and looking at it with huge, troubled ~~b100~~ blue eyes. Who could this kitten be? Who could he belong to? And why is he tangled in a slightly damp, large black tank top?]

Kitty!!

[Oh wow, that is the fattest and most adorable cat she has ever seen!]

Hi kitty!

[He's not fat, he's just fluffy.]

[Nepeta! Nepeta will know what to do!]

Prrrrow!

[He paws eagerly at the SFC, his ears rotating forward towards her and his eyes widening.]

[Fat, fluffy, there is a lot of him to hug and that is the important thing here!

She beams when he seems so happy to see her, pawing back and giggling.]

Where are you, kitty? That looks like...

Wait. [There is only one person she knows who wears a top like that.]

Equius?!

[Yes! Equius! He is Equius, Equius is him! The kitten bursts into a squeaky purr of joy at being recognized...]

[ ... then realizes that he just purred, over a public feed, where anyone could have heard him.]

[He sits down then, with all the feline dignity he can muster, and begins seriously washing his face.]

[This should leave absolutely no doubt as to who he is.]

Oh my paws, you are so cute!!

[She giggles at him. She'll be getting more purrs out of him later, of that he can be sure.]

Are you at your hive? Mew once for no and two for yes.

[Equius does not want to be cute! He wants to be a fierce predator, a big, STRONG kitty!]

[He sits down, primly wrapping his tail around his feet, and bats the SFC so it's pointing in another direction. It ends up focused on the wall, and there's only one hive in the entire bubble that could possibly have hoofbeast and juggalo posters hanging side by side.]

[Hey, it is completely possible to be both! Just look at Pounce, and Nepeta herself. Is he denying she is both cute and fursome?]

Pfft. Won't you even mew for me, Equius? [She sounds more amused than disappointed though, and the picture starts moving as she heads out of her hive and sets off towards his.]

[This is true. Equius is just used to being fearsome and not cute. It's an adjustment to be both.]

Ffft.

[There's a pause after that cranky sound, and then...]

... mmrow?

[The crankiness just makes her giggle - that's the moirail she knows and pities - and then she squeals with delight when he mews for her.]

I am going to cuddle you so hard when I find you! [She's already at the front door of his hive from the look of it.]

[There's no response on the SFC to that, although deeper in the house, there's the sound of scrambling and then, from the top of the stairs, a very plaintive mew.]

Mrow?

[The stairs were never this big before, and Equius doesn't know how to get down them!]

[Aww, no, the poor trapped kitty! Nepeta rushes up the stairs and swoops down on him, scooping him up in her arms and kissing his furry little head.]

I got you! Everything's going to be okay now!

[i.e. she is not going to set him down until this curse is over.]

[Equius squeaks in surprise when she scoops him up so abruptly, his tiny claws latching onto her shirt so he doesn't fall. Once she's got him supported, though, and everything is warm and still and safe, he launches into raspy, squeaky little purrs.]

[Nepeta is very experienced in holding kitties at least, and she marches off with him to his block, arms curled securely around him.]

You are the cutest as a kitty, Equius!

[Soft rumbly purrs from her join his as she snuggles him.]

[Oh, this is nice. This is very nice. It's so nice he can't even be mad about being called cute.]

[Equius continues purring, snuggling closer against Nepeta. His eyes droop to half-closed, and while he had no idea why he's doing it except for that it feels good, he begins kneading his paws on her shirt.]

[Nepeta pets his furry little head, giggling to herself when he starts kneading at her.]

Yes, you are a good kitty, you are the best kitty.

[She rubs his back for him, leaning down to kiss the top of his head, purring once again to make sure he's nice and comfortable and at ease.]

[If this keeps up, she's going to have a sleeping kitten on her hands. Wait... wait... going... going... yeah, he's asleep, still purring quietly, his little paws still working.]

[Equius will never know the effort it took for her not to squee out loud at the adorable picture he makes as he falls asleep on her still purring. She snuggles him lovingly instead, her own purrs rumbling away as she settles down for a little snooze too. Kitties need their nap time!]

[This looks like the enemy. Or maybe Ky's just trying to have a conversation.]

Woof woof woof.

[Equius is a kitten, but he can still think like a troll. He knows that a dog isn't a real threat to him. Intellectually, he knows this. But that doesn't keep him from arching his back, puffing out all his fur, and hissing fiercely. Stay away, doggie, he is a vicious predator who will scratch your nose if you get too close!]

[Ky growls for a moment at the SFC, head low, then he barks. He will chase this kitten around in circles, or maybe...

After a moment he makes himself still, tilts his head instead, sad eyes a tiny bit apologetic.]

[Equius' fur stays puffy for a moment, getting even fluffier when Ky barks, but then he calms down. The troll brain is taking over from the kitten brain, and he realizes this dog is probably another resident of the bubble with a changed form.]

Prrrrow?

[He swivels his ears forward and raises his tail in the air behind him.]

[Ky reaches out a paw and lays it in front of the SFC for a moment before taking it off. He probably shouldn't have started this conversation...]

[The kitten's face screws up with concentration, and it taps its paw on the SFC. A few seconds later, a message appears on Ky's SFC.]

[Ky woofs a moment, as if to wonder how he should know, but then he considers the kitten. His paws are a bit larger, but he's determined, at least.]

[Oh yeah, Equius knows this guy! Any fur that is still sticking up settles flat, and his expression warms.]

[Ah! Ky's tail wags happily behind him.]

[Ky yaps twice in succession by way of agreement.]

[Equius purrs squeakily to agree, and then paws the SFC to turn it off. To the park!]

[Ky bounds to the park, stopping looking for the kitten only to find a branch to bring to his new friend. He left the SFC on the ground of his apartment, forgotten for the moment.]

[It takes Equius a little longer to get to the park, being pretty small, but on the way he finds a very lovely, delicious smelling feather, which he picks up to bring to Ky. When he gets to the park, he spots the puppy fairly easily and trots over, purring happily.]

[Ky still has the stick in his mouth, but he lets it fall in favor of barking out a greeting. Then he leaves it be in favor of moving closer to the kitten, tail wagging like an invitation to play.]

[Equius instinctively puffs up a little at that bark, but his fur smoothes down almost immediately. He prances over to the puppy, lifting one paw to very gently pat him on the nose.]

[Ky yaps a little, surprised, and runs off in an energetic circle around the kitten.]

[Equius prrrows with enthusiasm, spinning around to try and keep his face pointed towards the puppy. He miscalculates and lands on his back, though, all four limbs flailing in the air as he tries to right himself.]
