Stop fightin’ me, bro!
[Rin’s SFC turns on to a view of somewhere in the Villa, near-ish the living room. There’s some scuffling happening off screen, as he’s trying to get Yukio in front of it. It sounds like the younger twin is doing his dead-level best to prevent that from happening, but as the brief flashes of flailing elbows grow longer and slide of socked feet against the floor grows louder, it becomes apparent that Yukio’s is a losing battle.]
Niisan! Let me go!
No!
[A losing battle, indeed. Rin is just too strong for his younger very much human brother, and soon enough both of them are in front of the SFC, panting and a little frazzled. Rin lets out a huff and forces the mess that is his bangs back out of his face, all with a terribly mischievous grin.]
HEY! I know we’re all doom and gloom right now for… reasons, but seriously you guys gotta check this out!
[Whatever Rin is doing, it’s clear it involves throwing Yukio under the proverbial bus. He turns his younger brother around forcefully, showing that Yukio has… gained a tail. Exactly like Rin’s. It’s presently lashing to and fro in an obviously agitated manner, mirroring the protests of its owner. Yukio lunges to one side, still determined to escape his brother’s grip.]
It’s not funny!
[You’re not going anywhere. Rin’s grip is way too tight.]
Lookit! It’s totally cute! Hehehehe! Cute little taaaail~
Niisan...
[Yukio growls under his breath, and the careful observer might be able to pinpoint the exact moment that he decides he is 1000% done. Rin receives no warning before his little brother lashes out, bending one long leg with every intention of planting a knee in his midsection. An attempted headbutt follows immediately after.
Rin might be stronger, but Yukio still has just a little more reach and (currently) absolutely no sense of humor. Thank Night for this one, bro.]
URGHF--!
[The noise Rin makes isn’t even remotely dignified. Yukio’s strikes hit as they’re intended to, and the half-demon goes down like a sack of bricks, collapsing off screen.
He groans loudly, lifting a hand shakily.]
Worth… it…
[Yukio wrenches himself out of Rin’s grip before the other boy can take him down with him, stumbling for a moment and reaching up to cup his forehead with one hand. As hard as the hit was (because let’s be honest, Rin defines the word “blockhead”) he’s sure to have a nasty welt there pretty soon, but he shakes off his own discomfort pretty quickly in favor of attending to more important matters. Like the camera that’s still recording.]
… Idiot.
[Two long strides close the distance between Yukio and the camera, and then the feed goes black. Sorry, folks, show’s over.]
((ooc: Green is obviously Yukio (
doctor_dragoon ) and replies can come from both once Rin picks himself up off the ground))

Re: action
[Though Yukio's not sure what the point is of him training with two people with such ridiculous strength. They'll only have to hold back for him.]

Re: action
We're not exactly on the same level.

Re: action
[Not "wouldn't". "Don't", because he knows that for a fact.]
action
[Rin shifts again, sitting turned so he can prop his chin up on his hand, elbow on the arm rest while staring at Yukio.]
But like... go back to when you were peltin' me from the roof top. I sucked at dodging anythin' even remotely long range. I'm too used to gettin' up close and personal. And you said it yourself, but it's not a strength issue it's that you never really dealt much with gettin' in a demon's face as much as I have!
What you did today proved that your time with Night is already helpin' that, but you and I both know from one fight to the next it's not just gonna be you verses one enemy! And it's not always gonna be some one or somethin' that likes to get all up in our space. Next time it could be two or three targets. Next time it could be some asshole shootin' fire from three buildings away!
Re: action
I don't get "in a demon's face" because I know my own strengths. Maybe against a normal opponent things would be different, but against a demon? My place is behind a scope.
action
I know that! And I'm not sayin' don't ignore your strengths cause that'd be stupid. Like me-level stupid and I do plenty of dumb shit in fights.
But, c'mon. It's not always gonna be that way. Sometimes you're gonna be shoved in to a situation where you can't rely on that. It's happened to me, too! Y'ever try beatin' up an armored dark god with just a sword? Doesn't fuckin' work that well!
Besides that... what's to say what we wind up facin' at the end of all this ain't gonna throw us completely out of our element more than we already are?
Re: action
[Yukio, stop talking yourself down in front of your brother. Must've hit his head harder than he thought.]
action
Re: action
action
[Whoops that sure is some genuine concern slipping through]
Re: action
Don't think this means you'll be surpassing me any time soon.
[Lame save, dude.]
action
I never said that.
Re: action
Just reminding you.

Re: action

Re: action
action
Seriously? You're gonna sit there and try to pretend that I don't actually know even a little about you and how you work when we've been brothers this fuckin' long? I'm stupid, Yukio, I ain't blind and deaf.
[You really shouldn't underestimate your brother's personal skills. They're way higher than his intelligence.]
Re: action
[Yukio scowls down at his water bottle, swigs from his bottle like there's something stronger than water in it, and then resumes scowling again. Fuck.]
You've seen me after a physical altercation with a demon.
[Rin's seen it more times than Yukio actually knows, but he's referring to the rather embarrassing position he was in before Rin showed up to deal with Neuhaus. It's the best example he can remember that he actually cares to mention.]
action
[And it wasn't a pretty sight, either.]
... you still got up again, though. You kept goin' even when you knew you were outta your element.
[Rin lets out a breath he didn't realize he was holding, waiting for Yukio to say something, dragging a hand through his hair and lowering his head, voice going quiet.]
When you talk like that, it doesn't sound like the guy who got back up again. When I say I'm gonna surpass you it's cause you give me something to go after. If you're down before the fight's even started then... then what the hell are we gonna do?
