[ Actually, its sort of video, voice, and maybe a few random key smashes.

Why?

The shell of a clam growing smaller, then larger again might indicate why, although the video feed is halted by qrhiowovsdilafkjqto;c and followed by the sound of waves, and another smashing and crunching of shell.

Yup. Duke the sea otter totally is using his SFC like its a rock.

This probably repeats in some variation for a little bit. ]

[Some animal is smashing a clam against someone's SFC. Doesn't take much for Lloyd to put two and two together. He lifts his voice, shouting, so that hopefully anyone near the SFC on the other end can hear.]

HEY, DID SOMEBODY LOSE THEIR STARFISH?

[ There is a little bit more of the smashing clam, followed by broken shell bits falling on the video. ]

Not lost.

[ But Lloyd isn't getting any other hints as to what is going on, because now that the clam is broken, its time to eat it. ]

[There's something familiar about that voice-]

Duke? Hey, I think some kind of animal got your starfish thing. It's smashing stuff against it. You might want to take it away.

[ There's a little bit of noise - things dropping into the water, before paws move past the view of the starfish and allow Lloyd to see that animial that has the starfish.

Only maybe a little fluffier and with red eyes. ]

Problem is that it works as a good rock.

[ That might be an indication of what's going on. That, and the bits of shell that are littered over the fur... ]

[Wha...?

Lloyd stares. That animal... Duke's voice is...]

Duke? Is that you?

Yes.

[ Just watching with that bland otter face. ]

[Sorry, he's still staring, completely floored.]

What happened? Is this another curse?

[ Give him a moment of face scrubbing. Lloyd, Lloyd- ]

Incorrect, clearly I have discovered how to shape shift.

[ duh its a curse. ]

[Duke, sarcasm only works when you don't have a deadpan voice. Or when the person you're speaking doesn't have a tendency to take things at face value.]

Whoa, you did?! How? [Lloyd's face lights up at an amazing thought.] Is it something I can learn, too?

Its a curse.

[ Yeah he forget that about you.

If Duke was Yuri, he would probably tell Lloyd he needs to rub toothpaste into his face and run around with all his clothing on backward for two hours. ]

[Lloyd's expression falls.]

[Way to crush his dreams, Duke. :c And he totally would have been tempted to try that if it came with the promise of future shapeshifting. Because weird and unlikely as that sounds, what if it was true? He just wouldn't have been able to pass up the chance!

But nope, hopes lifted then dashed right away.]

Aw man, I was hoping I could change into a dog. How could would that be to run around and chase my tail, or jump up and catch things with my mouth?

I would recommend using the reverse side for smashing that open. The video appears to have been turned on.

[Yep, that sure is a large fluffy sheep talking to you Duke.]

Hello Fluffy Sheep Housemate.

Duke blinks over at him, standing there out of the shallows. ]

... In a moment.

[ Smash smash smash- oh hey, it cracked. ]

...These devices are remarkably sturdy.

[The craftsmanship is about the only thing he admires about the scientists right now though, not that he's actually going to say so out loud.

He ambles in a bit closer, making sure not to go past his knees. Wet wool gets pretty heavy, so he'd rather avoid that.]

[ Duke is a little busy eating the clam to answer that. And after he's done, he grabs the starfish, and rolls over in the water a couple of times. ]

Appropriately waterproof as well.

[ A few flicks of his tail and feet has him drifting closer. ]

... Want to try kelp?

[Dhaos drifts off in thought about that a moment.]

...Very well. I doubt it is poisonous to sheep, so I see no reason not to.

Moment.

[ Duke leaves his starfish with Dhaos - or more particularly, near those hooves of his and under a couple inches of water, before swimming out again.

When he says 'moment', he might mean something more than twenty minutes. He has to swim a bit to find some kelp. ]

[Dhaos doesn't move much in those twenty minutes beyond putting a hoof on the communicator to prevent the waves from washing it away. He's quite patient like that.]
