[Click! There is now an Eevee on the screen, pawing at the display as though he is trying to break through.

And then there's Maka picking him up and depositing him on her shoulder. She looks somewhat tired and there are books scattered about in the background, but not grouchy at least (unlike the other times Maka lacks sleep).]

His original owner has been gone for some time now, so I guess that means I've officially inherited Pip here.

[A pause as Pip nibbles on one of her pigtails and Maka casts a glance at him.]

That's his name. He's something called a Pokemon, but the problem with that is uh...there's no such thing as Pokemon in my world, so I'm not completely sure how to take care of him. What he needs and all that. There's got to be some people from Pip's world here, or at least people that know how to take care of a Pokemon...

[She picks Pip up again and places him down in front of her to give her pigtail a break as she laughs awkwardly.]

I'm afraid the only pet I've ever had is a cat that can actually tell me what she wants when she wants it, so I'm a little inexperienced...

If you had a cat, it shouldn't be too difficult. We had Pokemon in my world [sort of] so if I can help, I will.

Well, I know what Pokemon eat at least, even if I haven't seen anything else besides the generic Pokemon food. But I think a bigger problem is Pip has never had another Pokemon to...uh...train with. He likes chasing ducks in the park.

[A considering tilt of his head, and he snaps his fingers.]

I don't think that's too much of a problem.

[A zorua appears from Minato's call, peering from Minato's shoulder into the screen.]

Benzomaru and I don't train very often, since I don't plan to battle with him. Did you want to have Pokemon battles?

Well, I've had a dog, and that can't be too different!

I wish I could help you somehow... I don't think there's something like "Pokemon" in my world.

Hey, Maka! [ She gives a cheery wave and then grins at the sight of Pip. ]

He's adorable. And, well.. have you tried feeding him anything yet?

[Ooohhh! So well-trained! And he's cute and little just like Pip, too, she is totally delighted!]

I'm not sure if I want Pip battling either, but it'd be nice if he had a buddy to scrap with I think.

[Who doesn't want a buddy to scrap with sometimes?]

[...A mouse owning a dog is simultaneously the weirdest and most amusing mental image to her.]

Huh. Well that's interesting. But she's obviously nice, so it's not weird at all, totally.]

It's okay! The good part is Pip hasn't been terribly hard to take care of, although it seems like he can't decide whether he's a dog or a cat...behavior-wise I mean.

Oh, you knew Kid? Yeah...they were pretty attached to each other.

You wouldn't mind watching him some time?

[wait until you hear his bff/knight is a dog too.]

Pluto! Aw, he's just the best! He's fun and loyal and always knows how ta help out. And I've taken care of him nearly my whole life!

I've taken care of a Pokemon before... [She helps Minato, too, sometimes.] And a dog, too, back home. Though I dunno how good I am.

Of course, I said to him that I would look over Pip anyway!

[He has to consider that one a moment, tilting his head.]

It probably wouldn't hurt to set something up, would it? I'd be willing to come.

Of course I've been feeding him, I've had him ever since he was hatched and they do sell generic Pokemon food in stores. ...He has been begging me for scraps more and more lately, though. I'm worried about him getting fat.

[Said (pudgy) Eevee looks very very content at the reminder of scraps.]

[Oh mah goodness, it's a talking kitty-cat! Maka's impressed, Pip looks befuddled.]

Wow! You can talk and everything, I didn't know there were Pokemon that could talk!

Of course I do! Heck, I think it'd be good for Pip to meet some of my friends, he's usually holed up in the apartment.

Heh, thank you! Maybe everyone that owns Pokemon should bring them together and let them play or something.

No, of course not! It's what makes him unique, but a little difficult to predict.

Geez, your whole life? You must really miss him, being here and all. If you want, I could always bring Pip by for a visit.

That's real nice a' ya, Maka, but don't worry! I've actually seen a white dog around here that helped me out. Didn't get her name, but I doubt that's the last I've even of her.

So she knows magic, too...pretty amazing. The last time I saw her was on Halloween, maybe she only comes around for special events?

Well, it wasn't a holiday, I just wanted ta make my gal happy... So I'm still grateful!

Any Pokemon can if they set themselves to learnin'. Even that shrimpy little Eevee could learn t' talk if'n it wanted to. [Which is probably not entirely true. Oh well.]
