[Ran is in Conan's vacant bedroom. Where there was once a sleeping 10-year-old there's now rumpled sheets. His glasses are gone, his sneakers no where to be found--and the angle of the feed keeps changing as Ran continues to pace frantically around the room.]

He's not here!

Is he awake?! Has anyone seen Conan-kun?! [Trying not to cry. Ran can't cry. There has to be an explanation! It wasn't unusual for Conan to run off without telling her, but...]

Shinichi..! [Her voice cracked, the tears welling quite obviously now.] Is Conan-kun with you?!

[Aww, another talking woodland creature! It's too bad Ran's too distraught to fully appreciate you right now...]

I...I don't know...this morning?! [Her voice was escalating in octave the more questions that where coming to mind. Did she lose him?! Was it her fault!?!]

[Soothingly.] Try to calm down, Mouri-san. I know you're worried about him, but you'll be able to help him more if you stay calm. Did... did Kudo-san mention anything about Edogawa-kun the last time you spoke to him?

...he...just said that he should be fine. That he wasn't sick, or losing weight but...neither of us had any idea what was going on.

...if he woke up...he should've told us something, right?!

[Ran looks up in panic.] Do you think they took him?!

"They"? Do you mean the people that brought us here? Have people disappeared from this place before now?

I don't know! I haven't paid close enough attention originally...[And boy, was she regretting it now.] No one's being really forthcoming with information, either...

We can ask around then, I'm certain someone will know something.

Edogawa-kun is a clever boy, Mouri-san, I'm sure he's fine, wherever he is.

Please...[Ran brings her hands together in a plead.] If you hear anything, you'll tell me, right?

Of course, Mouri-san, you know I will.

Okay...[Ran was doing her best to keep a stiff upper-lip, but standing around and searching aimlessly was beginning to wear on her.] Please hurry?

[ Give him about ten minutes and he's coming through the front door looking a little exhausted but alert and ready to go. ]

[Ran doesn't waste time in running towards Shinichi, stopping short of being entirely in his arms. As much as she wants to hold him and cry, it wasn't too late! Maybe if they went now, they could find him!]

Let's go! [She seized his wrist in one of her hands, turning him back around to head back out the door.]

[ kljsadfkljsalkdfj And he thought Conan was hard to keep up with! He'll just allow himself to be dragged as he attempts to get a better balance. ]

[Of course, Ran didn't go far before realizing she had no idea where to start. Where were Conan's favorite spots? Where could he possibly be stuck in?]

Bugs-san said he hadn't seen him, so the forest's out...

[ Once he has time to think Kaito tried to think of all the places he frequented to clear his head and then tried to think of places the detective would go. ]

I didn't see him around the fountain. Maybe we should try the library?

[The library!] Of course! [Why hadn't she thought of that?!] Shinichi, you are a genius!

[Oh boy...crying girls...yeah. Weakness number two.]

Uh, sorry, doll. I ain't seen the little nimrod around.

[That's probably not going to help...]

Thanks, Bugs-san...[Sniffling, she tries to smile through her tears.] Can you...keep an eye out for him? In case he's wandered into the forest.

[San? Er...okay not the time, rabbit. The attempt to smile makes him feel loads better and he grins himself.]

Sure. Can't miss much wit dese ears.

I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. [Her gratitude is a little more muted than you'd normally expect from her, but given the circumstances, can you blame her?]

[He doesn't like dealing with all these non-happy emotions. They bug him.]

[She dabs what she can away with the back of her hand.]

[He glances behind him before leaning forward towards the screen.]

Hey, doll. I'm gonna do somethin' kinda weird so don't panic, a'right?

Eh? [Ran looks to the feed in confusion, but hesitantly nods.] Mmn. Okay.

Just a second.

[He holds up a gloved finger before he clears his throat and takes a step back. A small pause and he steps forward, stepping through the SFC and into the room with her.]

What's up, toots?

[At first Ran's mouth opens and closes wordlessly, she tries to gasp, but it comes out more like a fish trying to breathe out of water.]

...wh...how--

[He rubs the back of his head and shrugs.]

Toon thing.

Now come 'ere, toots. I don't like seein' dames wit the sniffles.

[Have a rare bunny initiated hug.]

[Ran gives Bugs a moment's apprehension, but realizes that he had been nothing but a friend since they met. She nods, and kneels to Bugs's height so she can make good of the rabbit's offer of a hug.]

[That's it kid. Don't worry so much.]

Easy there, calm down. Can you describe who you're looking for?

He's a little Japanese kid...short, has a cow-lick in his hair...over-sized glasses?

Very talkative, incredibly smart for his age...likes to get into things?
