Wakey, Wakey, Selphie!~

*So Selphie might look a little sleepy, and her hair's a little more tousled than usual. But at least she's sitting up in bed, even if she is still in her pyjamas. Yes, she's been dead asleep for over a week now, but she always still finds herself exhausted at the end of it. It's happened a couple of times now, and she's not really surprised*

Whoa... A new year and I've slept for most of it already! Boo!

Anything exciting happen while I was out?

*Shake head, shake head.

Okay, so he kind of had. That wasn't how you were supposed to react to a kiss from someone you had just confessed love to.

But maybe it was her fault. Maybe she'd just done the wrong thing, or maybe he hadn't really meant what he said after all - it was the curse!

So she spins round, eyes closed tight but a smile on her face*

I'm fine!

[ he's not really buying that... He looks kinda concerned. ]

I can make some more tea, if you'd like. Or perhaps some fresh mochi?

*Her face falls for just a moment, but then he mentions mochi and she brightens a little*

Will you make me some mochi?

I have some fresh already made, if you would like it. It is strawberry mochi with a whole strawberry inside.

*Selphie smiles at Kenshin before turning again to disappear into the kitchen, where she was headed anyway, and she goes looking for where the fresh mochi is*

The mochi is in the gold box next to the sink.

*She finds the box, and balances her teacup on as she carries it back into the living room. She puts them down on the table, and sits right beside Kenshin again*

[ he offers an appreciative nod and is quite happy she's sitting next to him. He opens the box and offers her one with a soft smile. The mochi is rather large in order to encompass the entire strawberry, but they're really yummy. ]

*She takes one and smiles*

Wow! Kenny, this one's pretty big!

*She laughs appreciatively all the same, wondering the safest way to eat it*

You're so clever making these!

[ he takes a bite of one himself, then laughs lightly. He can't take credit for something he didn't make ]

Alas I have no talent in the kitchen. I could not make these. My apologies if I have disappointed you.

*Selphie just laughs too before taking a bite, and she happily chews and swallows*

Then I should learn to make them! They're so delicious!

*She just leans against him as she continues to munch through the mochi*

That would be most wonderful.

There are so many combinations of mochi and fillings.

[ though making mochi is a long and complicated process... ]

*She pauses and looks at the thing in her hand and gives a little sigh*

I think it's probably too hard for me. I gotta start with something easy...

*And she frowns at it for a moment before taking another bite*

Perhaps rice balls?

Rice balls? Like just...rice... in a ball? So that's not hard!

*Oh so desperate to be sure to seem useful*

So...what else have you been telling people with this curse?

Indeed. Some have food in the center, such as crab meat or cucumbers.

Currently I have only spoken my feelings.

*She thinks about this for a moment, and decides that strawberries are definitely better*

...your feelings? For everyone? Or...just me?

Indeed. In the rice balls, they are quite delicious.

They are quite popular that way.

Learning to cook and bake is gonna be one of the things I do this year.

Along with some sparring... if you still wanted to?

I do indeed. Sparring would be quite beneficial for both of us.

*And suddenly Selphie is just thinking about what it would be like to spar with someone that maybe she might want to just kiss the whole time... Ah! But she is blushing so she just nods in agreement*

Yup!

[ pfft. there is no place for love on the battlefield.... or something. ]

Especially with potential invasions, it would be very wise to be prepared and protect the ones you love.

*And actually though, that was something serious worth thinking about*

It's been quiet lately... and nice. I mean, there's this curse but - well, it hasn't been bad.. for me.

*And she'll just take a look at Kenshin's face to see if there's any trace of annoyance or hate towards what the curse has made him do*

But - something could happen. Any time. And if it's like that last one -

*The last one, where she disappeared on the island, the one she still couldn't really remember what happened*

[ there's no trace of annoyance at all. He looks quite content, actually. ]

Indeed it has. While the peace is quite enjoyable, it worries me. For this land, with extended periods of peace comes a large invasion. I know not what I would do if something happened to you. [ well that wasn't part of his strategic analysis, but it is true... ]

*Yay! Contentment!*

But... if we keep practising together... we'll be ready when it comes!

*Selphie looped one of her arms into his and squeezed his wrist lightly*

We'll be okay, together.
