Third promise; Video

[Before the feed starts, in the vicinity of the Lower District, you might hear a loud explosion. Okay, well, it's not terribly big, but in a relatively peaceful bubble-shaped underwater dome, it's rather noticeable. If you're really close by, you'll even see the roof of a tool shed go flying in the air before landing unceremoniously somewhere.

But like any explosion it all ends rather quickly. The silence holds for a beat before a panic-stricken Rinoa comes onto the SFC.]

Sorry! So sorry! Please don't panic if you heard, heard all of that! That was just me.

[Behind her, there are the remains of a now very charred and destroyed tool shed. Luckily Rinoa doesn't seem to be harmed; she's more embarrassed than anything.]

I'll, um, try to pay for damages and stuff. [Good thing she got that job.] Can't believe this happened. I wasn't even aiming at the shed...

((ooc: Rinoa is trying to get a hold on her powers. Needless to say, she's not off to a stellar start.))

I was practicing with my powers. Just found out I had them recently, and once the shock wore off I realized I should learn to harness them. Vatheon's been attacked in the past, so I figured, "Hey, if I could learn to use them, it could help!"

But uh... it's easier said than done.

Aaah~ Fair enough. Might I recommend practicing in the forest, though? Fewer building casualties.

True, but the forest sort of scares me. No idea what's in there and I don't want to go in alone. But I didn't want to practice with anyone nearby, soo...

[It's basically a catch 22 situation.]

I don't think there's anything scary in there.

Of course, if you're that worried about it, I could go with you sometime. Nothing more scary than a vampire and it's not like you could hurt me. Permanently, anyway.

[Huh... Okay, so the blood sucking part she can probably understand. It's the monster part that floors her a bit.]

Where I come from, monsters are violent, thoughtless - though not necessarily unintelligent - beasts. You don't look like that to me.

[He shrugs.]

Different worlds. Where I come from, I'm considered a monster.

Vampires, demons, ghosts...they're all monsters in society's eyes. Abominations~

Why, because they're not human?

More than that, we're not natural.

Very few vampires are 'born'.

So how do most vampires come to be then?

A vampire gives a human some of their blood and voila~

It's a bllod disease, if you will~

[Blink. That's a heck of a blood disease, dude.]

Well, if you look at it like that, diseases are a part of nature. I know me arguing that you're not not natural really doesn't do a lick of good, but at the very least, I don't think of you any different for it.

[His smile turns more gentle.]

I'm glad. Being judged for who I am and not what I am is all I can ask of anyone.

I think that's all anyone can ask, and it's only fair. Besides, I wouldn't want people judging me for blowing up that tool shed and thinking I'm a complete idiot. Different levels of severity, but same principle.
