[Video] [Action for Forest]

[The video turns on and... it's partly covered by something scaly. When said scaled thing slithers off, the screen reveals a blue-haired boy, with a horse standing near him. He's sitting on a tree stump, and there's birds near him, too. There's also a deer that comes up behind him to sniff at his hair.]

[He laughs, and reaches up to pet it on the neck. One of the birds takes off and perches on his shoulder. The boy smiles and gently pets it on the head, before the snake from earlier comes to slither onto his lap.]

[He blinks, and looks over towards the SFC. He points to it, and the deer picks its way around the other animals to pick it up in its mouth and bring it back over to him. He takes it from the deer and shuts the video off.]

[One of the forest's other inhabitants is watching from a short distance away, looking both surprised and impressed. He must really know those animals, huh?]

[Link waits until the deer returns the SFC to the blue-haired boy, then takes a few steps closer, offering him a quick smile.] I like your horse.

[Ryu turns to look at him and smiles a little sheepishly.]

I'm just renting him for the day... but he's really friendly. Go on.

[He nods to the horse, who snorts and walks over towards Link.]

Animals really like me because of the Dragon's Eye.

What's the Dragon's Eye? [Link asks the question curiously as he reaches up to pet the horse's neck, a smile crossing his face. It is good to be around horses again.] It'd be nice to be able to do that!

[Ryu points to his right eye, which has a catlike pupil.]

It's an eye that marks someone as different somehow, or special. I think usually only the Endless have it.

[Link leans in curiously, pausing in mild embarrassment and stepping back when he realises he's probably invading the guy's personal space in a major way.] Oh... are you an Endless? Being able to make friends with animals sounds like it'd be fun.

[He would hang out with all the horses ever.]

[It's okay, he doesn't really get personal space.]

Yeah, I am. But it is fun. I don't get to do it that often, though, considering how often I'm on the move.

Oh... how come you had to move a lot? Did you have something important to do?

[Link can sympathise, he rarely stayed two nights in the same place after leaving the forest. No, horse, we do not eat the hat.]

Yeah, I did. I had people to find.

[But hat is tasty. :C ]

Oh... did you find them? [He won't lie, it's kind of interesting hearing other people's adventures.]

[But he only has one hat!]

[amnesiadragon]

[Fine then the horse will just nuzzle you.]

Not yet... we still need to find Nina's sister and my other half.

[Nuzzles are perfectly acceptable!]

Oh... well, maybe they'll come here. What do you mean by your other half? [Something like him and Sola?]

[amnesiadragon]

Maybe. I hope so. I'd like to know that they're safe.

[... This was always complicated to explain.]

I was summoned a long time ago. But it messed up, and half of me showed up when I was supposed to. That's Fou-Lu. I only showed up a few months ago. We're going to eventually meet up and become one Endless again...

[And yet... he looks worried. If they met now he'd surely be absorbed completely...]

[Link listens carefully, a faint frown on his face.] Can't you both be seperate people? So-- [He cuts himself off there quickly.] I mean, there's people who are supposed to be the same person but they're not, they're different people now.

Well... we could, but we wouldn't be able to do what we were summoned to do. And I get the feeling that neither of us are going to be able to ignore the fact that we feel drawn to each other. If I don't find him, he'll find me.

[blessedbyfarore]

Oh. [Link glances at the ground, suddenly feeling a little guilty - he and Sola definitely have it better.] Well - if you're here, you don't have to do what you were summoned to do yet, right?

[amnesiadragon]

Yeah, that's true. I can just relax here.

[He rubs the deer behind the ears, smiling at it.]

I'm glad that there's animals here, too. They remind me of my friends from the Grass Runner tribes.

Same here. I'm from a forest and I made friends with Epona back home - she's a horse - so it's nice seeing life around.

[He glances around the trees, and lets out a little sigh.] But it'd be nice if there were fairies here, too.

[amnesiadragon]

[His eyes widen a little.]

You can see them? Not many people can where I'm from.

Really? [Link looks a little taken-aback at that.] Everyone can see them in Hyrule... except they don't leave the forest or their fountains much, so most people don't even know that they're real. What are they like in your world?

[amnesiadragon]

They look kind of like people, but they have long, brightly colored hair and little wings. They live in the world of dreams, but sometimes they come out in the forests to play tricks on people.

[blessedbyfarore]

They kind of sound like Great Fairies - except they don't have wings, and they live in their fountains. Most fairies are really small and glow so they look like a ball of light - [He holds his fist up to demonstrate the size, then holds forefinger and thumb about six inches apart - ] and they have wings like this.

[amnesiadragon]

Huh. They do sound pretty different... we had to clear out the world of dreams from the nightmares that were trying to take over. We've been helping them with their village ever since.

Oh... I guess you beat the nightmares? [He's not totally sure what that'd involve - but at least the fairies are okay?] It'd be nice to see more kinds of fairies.

[amnesiadragon]

Yep! They were pretty easy to fight.

[It involved killing them with fire, what else? 8D]

Maybe some of them will come here. That'd be kind of nice.

[A time-honoured tradition! Just ask the monsters he used Din's Fire against.]

Zelda said there used to be some here! But they all disappeared a little while ago...

Aw, really? That's a shame. It would have been nice to play with them again.

Uh huh. Maybe they'll come back, though. Sometimes people here disappear and come back, Zelda said. [A forest full of fairies... perfect.]
