[ Oh boy. Who would have thought that Hanako would rather use the video feature this time? That was a quick boost of confidence! Everyone sure is going to learn about her appearance now, right?

... Except, nope. You're going to witness the sight of one of these strange monsters that are popping up to certain people. A ghost-like creature with an incredibly upset expression is staring straight at you, floating in mid-air. Hanako's voice is the background of this video, reclutant to speak. ]

Um... I have learned about these... "curses" that occur to the guests here once in a while. I'm not sure how this creature entered my house, but it's doing nothing but follow me around.

[ Though she's trying to sound calm, she's been freaking out quite a bit for the whole morning. And it won't go away, no matter the many attempts to shoo it out of her apartment. ]

According to what I have seen on the network lately... [ Yep, she's a great lurker. ] ... Is it safe to assume that I've been cursed?

I'm not sure if it's part of the curse or not, but that's just a Frillish. I wouldn't be too worried about it. [even if its Pokedex entries are... well, like other Ghost-types.]

A Frillish? Do you know what kind of creature it is? [ What are Pokemon ]

I just told you. It's a Frillish--a dual-type Ghost and Water Pokemon native to the Unova region.

... Pokemon?

Yeah. They're creatures that are all over where I'm from. There's around 650 different Pokemon, and quite a few different types. I guess you could say they're similar to the animals found here, but they're a bit more intelligent than the average animal. Back home, people use Pokemon for all kinds of things--people battle them, enter them in contests and musicals, use them to help out their businesses, keep them as pets, and others study them.

[ Have a pause, as Hanako registers the whole information. If this was a normal situation, she wouldn't have believed it. ]

... I never had them in my world, so I was confused when it showed up in my apartment. It's not dangerous, is it? [ It's really... doing nothing, just following her around and staring at her. ]

It shouldn't be, no. If you don't like having it follow you around, though, you should try putting it back in a Pokeball. [but because she didn't know what Pokemon were, she might not understand what a Pokeball is...]

Did you find a ball anywhere that's half red and half white? That ball is a Pokeball, and they're used to make carrying Pokemon around and storing Pokemon much easier.

[ She's found this weird object along with the Frillish, but didn't really make a connection between the two- she just though it was part of the furniture. ]

Like I said, it's not a big deal. Anyway, pay attention.

[He sets the SFC somewhere where it can record properly while he shows how to use a Pokeball. He picks one of his up and bam, out comes a Serperior.]

This is Serperior, one of my Pokemon. Now, it doesn't have much to do with getting Pokemon back in their balls, but to release them, you can throw them like I just did.

[and now, Cheren points the Pokeball back at Serperior, and a beam of red light comes out, pulling Serperior back in with it. You know the deal. Serperior might look a bit disgruntled, but oh well. He can deal with it.]

That's how you get them back in. You see the small circle on the front of the ball? Point that at the Frillish, and it should go back inside.

[ She'll stare at the Serperior because uh whoa that's... a pretty large Pokemon. But in the end she watches the whole thing and nods at the SFC, even though the other party can't see her. ]

... I think I get it. It's simple enough. I'll try it now...

[ That said, some pause ensues. ]

Good job. And like I said, if you want it out of the ball, just toss it. I don't have first hand experience training a Frillish, but I'm sure there's a lot of things you can get it to do here in Vatheon. It's a water-type, after all.

I see... I'll have to learn more about these Pokemon creatures before anything, really.

It's not that hard. I can teach you if you want. I doubt there are any of the same books and TV programs that teach the basics about Pokemon here, and I don't have much else to do at the moment.

... I'll consider that, but only if that doesn't bother you.

It's nice to meet you. And like I said, it's not a big deal. It'll be better for both you and Frillish if you learn more about how to handle Pokemon.

The forest is probably the best option. There's space there, and less of a chance of anyone getting hurt on anything. [for both people and pokemon, naturally.]

As for when, that's up to you. Whenever you're available, just let me know.
