Day 65 - [Video]

[Although the feed starts off in audio-only for a couple seconds before he decides he's up for video, Roxas doesn't look any different.]

Hey, Axel, Xion.. Hayner... Well, everybody...

I know some people are freaking out, but I hope you guys aren't so bad off. 'cause, um, I kind of want your help figuring some stuff out.

((Powers? What powers? 100% vanilla human... complete with heart.))

[You're too precious, Roxas.

Axel looks over and for a moment he's silent. Having his heart back--He wonders what that must feel like. It's not like he's forgotten completely, but having been without his heart for so long, he can only wonder what it would feel like in this body to have it back.]

Do you remember anything?

[Roxas is sure it would be for Axel like it is for him-- strange, but welcome, and not a bit like being who he used to be.

He shakes his head and lowers the hand.]

No. At least, not outright. But I feel like a part of me knows her.

[He would feel weird, really, and unsure on if he would want a heart or not, but in the end...maybe he'd accept it. It's hard to tell.]

Hm. [After a beat,] I wonder how long that'll last...you having a heart and all. [And when it ends, how will Roxas take it?]

Probably not long... That's why I wanted to see you guys, while I have it.

[He laughs a little.] What? Have your takes on us changed now that you've got a heart?

Not exactly. [A smile spreads across his face again.] Just, now I know how to feel about my best friend, not just a best friend.

...How? [He's curious. How does Roxas feel about his best friend?]

[Roxas looks thoughtful for a moment. He knows it's different from how Sora feels about his best friend, but he hadn't really been trying to put it into words. It feels... He shakes his head.]

...I don't know how to describe it. I just- like you.

[Axel thinks about that for a moment. It shouldn't be difficult to understand, but even after he's come to terms with knowing that Roxas makes him feel when he shouldn't, the concept of friendship and liking seems so obscure. Is Axel actually capable of both or is he just chasing a fleeting reality?]

Well-- [Until he knows that answer--] --I like you too, Roxas.

[Roxas grins at that, and, not really knowing what to say in response, he just grabs for Axel's arm to tug him along faster towards the ice cream stand.]

[Axel doesn't mind it and simply follows behind, allowing himself to be tugged all the way to the ice cream place.]

Excited, are you.

Well, it's our- tradition, right?

[Besides, it seems like it's been a while. He lets go of Axel once they reach the stand and orders the two sea-salt ice creams for them.]

Yeah, that's true. [Only they still haven't found a high enough place to eat ice cream at, though. As he thinks this, he crosses his arms and starts looking around the skyline for a building that might work.]

There's just the matter of a high place, though...

...we're just gonna have to start trying places.

[Roxas turns back to his friend, holding out one popsicle to him.]

[He takes his ice cream and then looks around again.]

Yeah, but we'll actually have to walk up to those places since you can't be going around taking the Corridors all willy-nilly.

Oh- right.

[And the ice cream would be mostly if not entirely eaten by then.]

That's just for now, though.

[He takes a bite out of a corner of his ice cream and then claps a hand on Roxas' shoulder.]

Come on. Let's just go find some place to sit at least.

[Roxas nods silently with his ice cream in his mouth and looks around. There's gotta be a bench or something by one of those little gardens in the plaza... Ah, there. He glances up at Axel and then heads over.]

[Axel looks over towards the bench as well and then follows to sit down. Yeah, so it's not a high place, but it'll have to do for now.

Omnomnomnom ice cream.]
