D --> As I am sure we are all well aware
D --> Vatheon holds a great deal of individuals who are combat capable
D --> However besides the sporadic bursts of invasions and strange occurence, we do not often get a chance to use them
D --> To keep ourselves in shape
D --> Recently I saw an advertisement for something called a Host Club
D --> Has anyone thought to create a group with a less frivolous goal in mind such as sparring with others equal to their own combat ability?
D --> Groups for beginners, veterans, everything in-between
D --> It would seem a bit more efficient than sporadically posting on the network, hoping for a suitable sparring partner
D --> At the very least, an obstacle course would be nice to have.
D --> Also
D --> This city needs to expand on its selection of books
[Private to Mindfang]
D --> I was just wondering
D --> Could we
D --> perhaps
D --> talk?
[Private to Psiioniic]
D --> I was thinking of changing our usual routine just slightly
D --> The weather on land has taken a turn for the pleasant
D --> Would you like to go up their for our usual exercises?
[ACTION]
[For those wondering about the random outburst of books as a subject in the public entry, well... They might just notice, if they're out and about the city shops today, a certain tall troll working in a bookshop. Just keeping things tidy, sorting the books properly, that sort of thing.]
[Feel free to ask him for help. Despite the fact that he's still tall and built like a tank and has sharp teeth, he's not wearing his armor today which helps a little bit in the intimidation factor.]
[Yes that is a sweater vest.]

Text;
D --> Perhaps the force could simply make sure that things do not get too rowdy
D --> Something likely to happen when various fighting styles and cultures clash
Text;
Text;
D --> However, I imagine it could become one very easily
D --> For example
D --> On my homeworld Alternia
D --> It would not be particularly unusual for a sparring partner to be killed during the spar and the body dumped for the animals and dirt to reclaim
D --> From what I understand of most humans
D --> Killing even accidentally in a spar is highly frowned upon as is the careless treatment of the dead
D --> I use that only as an example
D --> Most of the Alternian trolls here are better behaved than that
D --> It is also one of the more harsh examples
D --> A minor one would be ideas on what constitutes as a "fair fight"
Text;
That's... I'm very sorry that you come from that sort of place, and certainly it should be understood that that doesn't apply to Vatheon.
But beyond that, I think what a fair fight is differs significantly based on who's fighting. For instance, were I fighting someone without any magic it might be best not to use my own, so as to make the fight fairer, while in other circumstances using my magic would be perfectly acceptable.
Text;
D --> Power and control was more valued than anything
D --> It was not a particularly good system I must admit in hindsight
D --> Still
D --> I do try and think of that which I was blessed with during those times
D --> Perhaps a system of sorts could be put into place
D --> Any who come for that particular meeting would sign in with both a name and their methods of combat
Text;
Yes, that seems like it would be simple enough to arrange. Although it might be easier not to rely on everyone sparring at the same time. I'm really not certain that the current system is so bad.
Text;
D --> Not to mention some battles can get rather
D --> Out of hand and perhaps spread to areas they hadn't intended
[He would know, he had to fix that freakin hole in the lighthouse...]
D --> Simply a space for any interested and a means of finding others with similar goals
Text;
Text;
D --> I would like to ask my matesprit for his opinion on the matter however
D --> He has a hive constructed their where he lives
D --> I wouldn't want anything to get accidentally damaged
Text;
I'd imagine that places could be found sufficiently far from any of those dwellings, but getting the opinion of someone who does live there wouldn't hurt.
Text;
D --> I told him I would find him a sparring partner that wouldn't kill him
Text;
[Ky knows enough about troll romance to be profoundly uncomfortable with it, but he's trying to at least not make that visible.]
Text;
D --> I apologize
D --> I meant in a more professional sense even if he would somehow find a way to make friends
D --> He gets restless easy
D --> And being trapped in this place away from his duties aggravates him
D --> So he has a tendency to heckle someone involved in those duties who should not be heckled
D --> At least in my opinion
D --> He is not much interested in other quadrants, at any rate
Text;
I think there's been a misunderstanding. I'm not...
Anyway, how good of a fighter is he? Professionally, obviously.
Re: Text;
D --> My apologies.
D --> He is an extremely skilled individual
D --> He leads a portion of Alternia military called the Cavalreapers
D --> And thus uses a lance as his primary weapon
D --> During the time he was brought here, he was also in the midst of leading a rebelling
D --> Combined with his ability to commune with beasts, and he is an unbelievable opponent to face
Text;
But I can see why that would make it difficult for him to find an adequate sparring partner. I'm afraid that I'm not sure I can offer myself; I'm practiced with a sword and electricity, not that sort of thing.
Re: Text;
D --> I hope you find some satisfaction in these sessions, should the idea come to fruit, as well
