[Akihiko's depression didn't last too long. What originally started as a welcome distraction has now become the source of new confidence. His team won the competition, and he's brimming with happiness.]

I can't believe we won. That was really intense.

[Aside from the sand castle building. That didn't require too much strenuous activity, even when he tried to make it so by running back and forth for water.]

Everyone did their best, and that's what counts. Let's not stop there, though. Everyone should keep training. It's good exercise.

[That and he wouldn't mind some friends to exercise with.]

[He's cute when he's happy, really. This is a lot more like the Akihiko she's used to seeing, and she just knew that the competition would cheer him up.

A closer look would reveal that it's just bread, though.]

I thought we could celebrate.

[Fish? Ah. Fish-shaped bread. Appropriate! He grins.]

Oh, sure! I got plenty of them, so there should be enough.

[They were victors too, after all. Nodnod.]

My friend makes them for the bakery he runs, so I can always grab more too, if not.

A bakery, huh?

[This would be fun, he was certain. There wasn't much reason to celebrate much of anything until he arrived here.

It was kind of nice to live like this. No shadows, no school ~~or Mitsuru's infamous cram sessions, though he didn't mind them too much~~.]

And yeah-- as they mentioned, it gets a lot easier, living here. She's glad he's realizing it, even if Mitsuru is around to keep on their tail about their studies.

Hehe-- at the request, though, she tilts her head. It isn't like she's going to say no.]

[He rubs the back of his head idly.]

If you told me before, I forgot. But how long have you guys been trapped here?

Well... if Akihiko could believe everything else that has happened here so far, she's certain he could believe this. And she actually doesn't remember if it's come up before, either.]

It varies, actually.

I've been here a little over a year, myself, but... Minato-kun's been here even longer.

[Over a year? He's heard people over the network report that people have disappeared from Vatheon, but now he's even more curious as to the reasoning behind one's departure.]

You must be more homesick than the rest of us.

[She personally finds it better than being Minato-sick. Which is an accurate description of how she felt 100% of the time after his death.

I... kind of worry that I'll forget what Port Island looks like someday.

[Yukari is still smiling-- because she can reveal that much, right? She can assure him that there's a lot of good to come, after Shinji's death.

There's something to look forward to.]

I know it might be hard to believe. You probably won't even remember if the Coral ever sends you home, but... we did, senpai. Once and for all.

[Akihiko can't help but join in. They're going to stop the Dark Hour. That's great news. He realizes they can't be lax in their training, but it gives him a bit of hope for the time being, even if he'll forget what he learned upon his return...if that ever happens.]

I believe it.

[That just left finding the way home.]

[She can hear the hope in his voice, and it's exactly what she wanted. Her eyes are definitely lit up, and there's a moment where she allows the silence to overtake them. She doesn't want to say anything to ruin the feeling, after all.

But after a while, she'll break it, urging him in a lighthearted tone.]

Well, hurry up, okay? I don't want these get cold before you guys get to them!

[Referring to the fish-shaped bread, of course. They're still warm and really tasty looking. But for how long?]
