[ The AUDIO somehow gets clicked on first as various kinds of noises can be heard in the background-- people talking about who knows what, all muffled for some reason or another but there's one voice that cuts through clearly. ]

.. Huh? I thought I gave this back.

[ To some it might sound familiar to another person's voice, but there's obvious confusion in his tone. What's he's referencing to, well.

There's a few more seconds before the VIDEO clicks on this time, showing nothing but a blur of where the device is at the moment. One second there's the street and then the next is what looks like a group of people before it gets shifted to something else again until it finally settles on a blond boy with blue eyes. Obviously someone doesn't know that it's actually a means of communication instead of what he actually thinks the thing is.

He's frowning but it doesn't last long as he looks off in some other direction, determination set on his face. ]

I'll just bring it back later. Right now I gotta get out of here.

[ A pause as he actually thinks about what he just said while looking around. ]

How did I even get here?

[ Because he's pretty darn sure that he'd been intending to go somewhere else. Not this world... whichever world it is. Well, there are people here so it shouldn't hurt to ask, right? ]

[Welp. Looks like Roxas is butt dialing the network.

He was about to say something teasing when the bit of armor clicked in. Waaaaait.]

Psst. Hey. Blondie. [Just waiting to get his attention first. The gummi is talking to you, Ventus!]

[Well color Rin confused, too. He thinks this is some one entirely different, and thus is wondering why Roxas is muttering to himself on the network and acting like he's never been here before.

.. of course Vanitas SHOULD be back by now, which means... something bad could have happened. That thought makes confusion turn to worry really damn fast.]

... oi. Roxas. You alright, man?

[ Considering there's a number of people around, it's not unreasonable for Ventus to start looking around when he hears talking, right? Right. So that's exactly what he's doing, trying to find who's talking to him. ]

..Hello?

[ Eventually he's learning that no one around him is actually talking to him and the voices are coming from somewhere else-- somewhere much closer to his person.

So when another voice pipes up, Ventus takes a second to figure out where it's coming from before looking down at his hand where he thought the star shard is just a star shard and not... something else. So yeah, there's some confusion on his face as he stares and actually sees someone's face on some kind of tiny screen. If he's never seen weirder things before, he might've dropped it. ]

Uh, who?

[ Ventus scratches the back of his head in a sheepish manner. ]

I'm sorry, but you probably have me confused with someone else.

[Rin's eyebrow goes up at that. How can he have him confused for some one else? Looks like Roxas. Sounds like Roxas. Has to be Roxas, right?

This would almost be funny if he wasn't actually worried that something was wrong.]

... h-hey, I know I made a crack about hittin' your head and forgettin' shit the other day, but come on... not funny, man.

Whom he accidentally hugged once. Yeah. Totally not talking about that.] Look at the screen of the star shaped thing you are holding.

[ Well, what to do in this situation because he's never been mistaken for someone else before. Did he really look like this other person that the guy can't tell the difference? Apparently if he's going to let up about it.

But there isn't much Ventus can do other than shake his head with something of a lost look on his face. ]

I just woke up in this place so I definitely couldn't have been here the other day...

[ And just as he says that, he does, only to blink at the face that he can see on the star shard. Well, that's never happened before but then again it's not like he uses it like Mickey does. Maybe that old man did something to it? He'll be sure to ask when he sees him again.

For now, there's some surprise on his face. ]

Oh. I didn't know it could do that.

[...Ven, this is the worst timing. Vanitas has been all kinds of trouble lately, and you're wandering around probably in the plaza where he could come back from the dead any minute.

Probably something to warn you about.

But Roxas remembers how Ven reacted to seeing him the last time, so he's going to be cautious and try text first. He doesn't know how to do that anonymous thing but with Ven's technical skills hopefully it won't matter.]

You didn't get here like other worlds.

[And he had to really think about the name. Pen? Ben? It's been a few months.]

It's a communicator. [Deciding to just stick to this topic. Easier and he doesn't have to try to remember something he only heard once.] Check out above you and look very carefully.

Looks and sounds like Roxas...

HEY! You're that one guy!

[ Okay, so he might've attempted to do the text thing, but he mostly just turns it around to see how to even do that feature so in the end, he'll just stick to the one that it's already on. Considering he thought it to be just a gummi well. He'll learn eventually.

But that's the last thing on his mind as he reads the text and wonders about who it is. Because he gets the feeling that this person actually knows about other words. The way the message had been worded-- even he can tell that it's a little odd for someone to say it in that sort of way.

So there's no looks of confusion or anything remotely to surprise on his face, just questioning. ]

So then how did I get here?

[Xion watches all of Ventus' initial confusion closely. She'd known for a while that Ven had been sent home, considering she hadn't head from him in months and his name just disappeared from the network one day. It was something she'd heard of happening before, but she was less prepared than she thought for his possible return.

They'd been well on their way to becoming friends before, but this time around he didn't seem to know anything about where he was. If he'd forgotten the city, it probably meant he forgot everyone he knew here too.

Memory is a funny thing, though, so she makes a point of leaving her face unobscured when she flicks on the video. Just to be sure.]

This world takes people.

Other one?

[ This guy isn't making much sense to him but he'll just go along with it since he's an inhabitant of this world. He can't very well say that he's from another world, can he? A vague lesson is somewhere in his mind about that but it's not something to think about right now.

Instead, he does as the other blond says and looks up, taking a second to realize that the other is implying. ]

Was there something I'm supposed to look at?

[ Again with this "other guy" talk? He doesn't get where it's coming from but he's curious to know who he apparently looks like to some of these people. ]

Not sure who you're talking about, but I'm Ventus.

I was just wondering how to get out of here.

Have you ever heard about people kind of looking like one another? It totally can happen. [Yeah. Screw trying to avoid it.

He has no information about whatever connection could exist. He'll just assume it was coincidence that his buddy had a face twin.]

Talking about the water above. Any shadows or shapes you see moving up there are fish. It's kind of wicked. [Buuuut kind of creepy too] Did you just arrive? This is Vatheon. We're kind of zippy- [Whoops. been talking to Sophie far too much.] Snatched. We basically have been snatched here.

Yeah yeah! You're the guy Roxas told me about! The one Van--

[Urk. Wait. Okay. Back up. Don't need to drop it on him all at once.]

E-er... [cough] Sorry... so uh, listen. You can't get outta here, okay? We're all dragged here 'cause of that stupid coral in the plaza and none of us can leave unless it sends us back home.

[ He's a little surprised at the amount of people actually willing to talk to him, as it always does whenever he goes to a new world. Though with the exception of the seven dwarves, everyone seems fairly accommodating to his questions and the like. But those dwarves eventually lightened up to him.

Ventus is glad that this place isn't an exception.

Although now he's looking at this new person and wondering who they are, given that all he sees is that their hood is up, hiding their face. Maybe they don't like the sunlight or they just feel comfortable that way, but regardless he won't question about it. It's not like there's anything odd about it. ]

Takes people? What do you mean by that?

[ Those words though... they make him worried. ]

[ Actually he hasn't but he doesn't think too much more of it for now. ] I'll just take your word for it.

[ Though he sounds a bit amused by the idea, won't he get an awakening when he actually meets someone who looks similar to him one day...

But whatever the other's saying now doesn't really phase him all that much. He's actually already seen the water and fish swimming around before finding the star shard, so the amazement's passed already. The last part of the information though, that's something new. ]

Snatched? You mean someone kidnapped us- [ wait. paaaause ]

Us?

[ He might have gotten a thoughtful look at the cut off, wondering why he did it in the first place but lets it slide at the latter words. ]

Can't leave? But I can't stay here either!

[ Because there's something he has to do, something very important and this sudden impromptu visit to another world might be delaying it a little but not for too much longer. Especially if his friends are in potential danger. He's not about to let them get hurt in any way. ]

I've got something to do.

[Not all smiles for long, huh?]

Yup. Us. Anyone you talk to on the star or anyone not wearing one of those creepy fake smiles that you see on dolls? All been snatched. As much as an extended vacation is appreciated the whole being stuck in an underwater bubble without permission is a bit much. And that's not even the messed up part. Nu-uh. The messed up part is the girly tattoos and the random stuff that we get hit with.

[ If this had been any other circumstance, Ventus would have thought the guy amusing in a way with how he's just talking like he is. But unfortunately, this isn't the best time to just sit here and listen to all of that, despite it being important information. He needs to make sure Vanitas doesn't do anything to his friends...

But first. ]

[He genuinely feels bad for Ventus, but not because he "has something to do".]

There really isn't a way home. I've been here for months. But.. hey if it makes you feel any better.. time doesn't really move in your world when you're here.
