[ The AUDIO somehow gets clicked on first as various kinds of noises can be heard in the background-- people talking about who knows what, all muffled for some reason or another but there's one voice that cuts through clearly. ]

.. Huh? I thought I gave this back.

[ To some it might sound familiar to another person's voice, but there's obvious confusion in his tone. What's he's referencing to, well.

There's a few more seconds before the VIDEO clicks on this time, showing nothing but a blur of where the device is at the moment. One second there's the street and then the next is what looks like a group of people before it gets shifted to something else again until it finally settles on a blond boy with blue eyes. Obviously someone doesn't know that it's actually a means of communication instead of what he actually thinks the thing is.

He's frowning but it doesn't last long as he looks off in some other direction, determination set on his face. ]

I'll just bring it back later. Right now I gotta get out of here.

[ A pause as he actually thinks about what he just said while looking around. ]

How did I even get here?

[ Because he's pretty darn sure that he'd been intending to go somewhere else. Not this world... whichever world it is. Well, there are people here so it shouldn't hurt to ask, right? ]

He was about to say something teasing when the bit of armor clicked in. Waaaaait.]

[ Considering there's a number of people around, it's not unreasonable for Ventus to start looking around when he hears talking, right? Right. So that's exactly what he's doing, trying to find who's talking to him. ]

[Well color Rin confused, too. He thinks this is some one entirely different, and thus is wondering why Roxas is muttering to himself on the network and acting like he's never been here before.

.. of course Vanitas SHOULD be back by now, which means... something bad could have happened. That thought makes confusion turn to worry really damn fast.]

[ Eventually he's learning that no one around him is actually talking to him and the voices are coming from somewhere else-- somewhere much closer to his person.

So when another voice pipes up, Ventus takes a second to figure out where it's coming from before looking down at his hand where he thought the star shard is just a star shard and not... something else. So yeah, there's some confusion on his face as he stares and actually sees someone's face on some kind of tiny screen. If he's never seen weirder things before, he might've dropped it. ]

Uh, who?

[ Ventus scratches the back of his head in a sheepish manner. ]

I'm sorry, but you probably have me confused with someone else.

[...Ven, this is the worst timing. Vanitas has been all kinds of trouble lately, and you're wandering around probably in the plaza where he could come back from the dead any minute.

Probably something to warn you about.

But Roxas remembers how Ven reacted to seeing him the last time, so he's going to be cautious and try text first. He doesn't know how to do that anonymous thing but with Ven's technical skills hopefully it won't matter.]

You didn't get here like other worlds.

[ Okay, so he might've attempted to do the text thing, but he mostly just turns it around to see how to even do that feature so in the end, he'll just stick to the one that it's already on. Considering he thought it to be just a gummi well. He'll learn eventually.

But that's the last thing on his mind as he reads the text and wonders about who it is. Because he gets the feeling that this person actually knows about other words. The way the message had been worded-- even he can tell that it's a little odd for someone to say it in that sort of way.

So there's no looks of confusion or anything remotely to surprise on his face, just questioning. ]

So then how did I get here?

[Xion watches all of Ventus' initial confusion closely. She'd known for a while that Ven had been sent home, considering she hadn't head from him in months and his name just disappeared from the network one day. It was something she'd heard of happening before, but she was less prepared than she thought for his possible return.

They'd been well on their way to becoming friends before, but this time around he didn't seem to know anything about where he was. If he'd forgotten the city, it probably meant he forgot everyone he knew here too.

Memory is a funny thing, though, so she makes a point of leaving her face unobscured when she flicks on the video. Just to be sure.]

This world takes people.

[ He's a little surprised at the amount of people actually willing to talk to him, as it always does whenever he goes to a new world. Though with the exception of the seven dwarves, everyone seems fairly accommodating to his questions and the like. But those dwarves eventually lightened up to him.

Ventus is glad that this place isn't an exception.

Although now he's looking at this new person and wondering who they are, given that all he sees is that their hood is up, hiding their face. Maybe they don't like the sunlight or they just feel comfortable that way, but regardless he won't question about it. It's not like there's anything odd about it. ]

Takes people? What do you mean by that?

[ Those words though... they make him worried. ]

[ Another new person and this time he can't help the small frown (that could be mistaken for a pout, who knows) that appears. ]

I'm starting to figure that out.

[ He hears a voice this time, which is kind of curious. Just how many things can this thing do? ]

[Naminé had to do a quick double take before looking closer and seeing that it wasn't who she thought it was. Nonetheless she smiles and tries to be helpful, even though she's still new here too.]

[ Ventus chuckles lightly at those words. Understatement of the day. But he's getting some amusement out of it now that he's getting used to it all. ]

Which part do you mean? The sky that's actually water or that this thing can let me talk to other people when I thought it couldn't.

Sure enough, one part of the void where a connection should be has now been re-established. Ven was back.

Equal parts joy and worry were warring within him about this. Ven was back.
