Well... now that things seem to be back to normal, I would like to inform everyone that I am very much not dead, and to anyone who thought that this "plague" was going to be the end of us that were ill...

That said... I may need a day more to recover my strength, but I should return to work after that with no problems. I do apologize for my absence from the Defense Force this past week.

Does it hurt to grow up?

I've heard tell of something called "growing pains", but aside from pain I received from any injuries my childhood I can't really claim that growing up hurt at all, no. At least not in a physical sense.

I suppose there's a bit of heartache, perhaps... to leave behind such carefree days and face the responsibilities of an adult.

I bet you learn all kinds of things as you grow, though, right? Do you think people can still learn those things if they didn't grow from a kid?

I believe so, yes. Truly, no one ever stops learning. If you kept a journal of one new thing you learned every day or even every week, I'm sure you'd be surprised how much new knowledge you came across even in just a month.

A journal? That's a good idea...

[He... doesn't know how to write all that well though. It would take him a very long time just to get out a mere sentence, with lots of help from a more learned source.]

Maybe once a week is better.

However you wish to do it. Even just keeping a journal alone has its benefits, after all.

Really? Like what? Do you keep one?

I have in the past, but I've fallen out of practice with it in recent years. I've learned to pack lightly due to the amount of traveling I had to do back home.

Normally, though, a journal is how people record personal things. Memories, things they've found or learned, secrets they want to keep... truly your imagination is the limit when it comes to what you wish to keep in a personal journal.

[At the mention of secrets, Sola's ears go back a bit and he glances around.]

Isn't... it's it better not to write secrets down or else people will find them out if they read it?

As I said, it's up to the user to determine what goes in to it.

People who do will often hide it somewhere that only they can find it.

Like buried treasure?

I wouldn't go that far...
