dotthedisconnect: (According to plan)

[Tech is sitting in his apartment, which is significantly more lit up than the last time he was here. The basis of a project appears to be on the table in front of him, but the angle of the SFC obscures most of it.]

I’ll keep this short. Since arriving, I’ve noticed minor fluctuations in the glow put off by the coral in the plaza. No changes really worth taking notice of. But, recently it appears to be especially bright—at least compared to what I’ve seen in my time here—and it only appears to be getting brighter.

Is that normal behavior?

. . . is anyone even keeping up with these things?

[His downed expression quickly twists into a grin.]

In any case, I believe it’s something worth monitoring. I think I can probably rig a device for that.

Some samples might be useful too, provided I'm able to take them.

Yes. I'd like to run some tests on the samples and see how else it could be used.

Fluctuations have been around for just over two months. It's worth observation.

How long would it take for you to make a monitoring device?

[Fast. Good.]

I'll leave the device to you.

[He's not exactly savvy in the workings of machinery, after all.]

I'd be interested in your findings once you have data.

I haven't gotten here recently enough to have any good records on it. Mostly I've been planning on keeping track of the people who arrive and leave.

If you can manage a device that can test the glow of just the coral without being affected by the ambient light in the Plaza, it might be worth it. The more data there is, the easier it is to find patterns.

Fair point. It wouldn't be as easy as measuring a circuit, though, considering the energy is moving through coral. Or I assume it is. You looking for someone to give you a hand?

You'd be assuming right. I'm not an expert on the kind of device you'll probably need, but I can look after it, at least. Having two people to analyze the information after enough of it has been collected also would be an intelligent decision.

Dirk Strider, by the way. You?

That so? Huh. I've already talked to a couple people who were interested in this sort of thing. Figured they'd be involved too, but if you're making an offer, I'm not about to turn it down. Sign me up.

I'll get right on that. Thanks, bro. If they have an overabundance of fighters, then I don't see why they wouldn't ask me to help you out.
