[ The feed opens not from Rand's hand, although the view was of the sleeping man, but from Mat's. Given that Mat didn't really have that good of a grip on it for taking video - one of his fingers was half on the camera - this probably wasn't on purpose.

Mat has a brush in hand. He keeps grumbling things under his breath as he doodles things on the sleeping man's face, careful not to get ink in his hair. ]

Just like you, sleeping through a bloody invasion. Of some other place's Shadow! [ Mat adds the other half of a mustache - a long curly one - with a flourish. ]

Think that may be why it didn't wake me. [ At Rand's words, Mat yelped, wobbled, spilled his ink over himself, and fell off the stool. The SFC dropped to the floor as well. Rand sat up, resting his chin on his hand and watched with some amusement. ]

Blood and bloody ashes, Rand! You've been asleep for a flaming month and a half in this bloody place and that's the first thing you say? Light! [ As Mat pushed himself up, his hat slid free of his head and his scarf free of his neck, showing the awkwardly flat mostly-closed left eye, and a vivid scar circling his neck. ]

I wasn't aware it was that long, but that may explain why you reacted so much that your clothing is beginning to fall free. [ With a yelp, Mat went to tie his scarf again. ]

[...Oh. So they saw him fall off the stool, and his hat and scarf falling off. Great. He picks up the hat, placing it on his head, and sighs.]

That's bloody great. So you saw...? [He tugs on the scarf a little, hoping Perrin'd get what he meant. Had they seen the scar? He thinks they did, but well...best to check. Before saying he was hung or mentioning the scar.]

[He may not know exactly where it came from, but it's obvious the scar is a sensitive issue for Mat.]

[When he woke up. He does let out a sigh of relief at what Perrin said though. He'd actually forgotten Perrin didn't know he was hung.]

[Rand just woke up, let's try to keep a lighter mood. Besides, Mat's already suffered through spilling ink on his fine clothes and having everyone see him fall off a stool today.]

[Lighter moods are good. And it's not like he'd say much more right now, on the network, so he nods.]

I really thought he [He jerks a thumb toward Rand.] would've waken up sooner, even with what Estellise said. But at least he isn't that out of it. [Rand always seems like he's kind of out of it, to Mat at least, but he doesn't seem much more out of it than usual.]

He seems alert enough to deal with you.

[Even if he does seem very unconcerned about the ink on his face.]

[Mat shrugs, looking a little bit sheepish.]

I'd hope so. I don't think he's ever had trouble with dealing with me before.

[Even when he had that dagger, if what he remembers of it and what the others said is true.]
