Evening, everyone. If I may have a moment of your time I'd like to ask you two questions.
First of all, how many people here are familiar with the concept of alchemy? It's a fairly common thing in my world and it honestly surprised me when I discovered that some people have either never heard of such a thing or it simply doesn't exist any longer in their world. Whether it involve turning metal into gold or even tales fabled Philosopher's Stone, I'd very much like to hear about what you know and perhaps we'll even learn something new.
Second, I recently discovered that a former colleague of mine was in the city at one point; did anyone know a man named Alex Louis Armstrong? I haven't seen him in a few years so I'm curious as to how he was. He's an alchemist like myself so he may have even introduced himself with the title of 'Strong Arm.'

[They were young enough that it had just been cute to her, but honestly.]
The manipulation of matter is magic. There's no harm in calling it by that term. If you are an alchemist, then by my standards, you are a mage. And to you...
[Zelda holds out a hand, palm up, summoning forth a flower that she holds out to the camera.]
I am an alchemist.
Video
Impressive! I've only met one other alchemist who could perform alchemy without a transmutation circle, but not to that extreme!
[And without clapping too, man. He is very very pleased with this.]
To create something out of nothing, that is impressive.

As I mentioned, I'm familiar with the concept and Nicolas Flamel, whom supposely was successful in creating the Philospher's Stone.

FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELINGS.
But Kimblee knew that already.
Totally sneaking a yoyo inside of your window though.]
And what kind of colleague was he?

Ah--I never did tell you about Ishval, did I?

The feelings. In their Unversed form. It'll just make him stronger.]
You haven't. [And he missed any conversation Kimblee might have had with someone else about it on the network.
He'll be quiet for a moment as he portals in to the kitchen.
He'll snag a box of cookies and replace it with the Yo-yo. Equivalent exchange, right?]

WHAT'S THIS PHILOSOPHER'S STONE?
[TEXT]
In my world it's simply something that enhances an alchemist's ability, so to speak.
[TEXT]
I'M GOING TO MAKE THIS SIMPLE AND JUST FLAT OUT ASK HOW YOUR ALCHEMY WORKS.

But it would appear that your universe had more success, I take it?
[Jeeze, and he thought being a hundred years in the past was something.]
Ah... Yes.
[Just give him a few moments to wrap his brain around thousand years into the past.]
It was fairly short-lived. Basically, the idea that matter could be converted into other forms of matter on the basis that they all consisted of various combinations of four primal elements. That theory actually goes even centuries further back into antiquity.
