[ Shortly after Mithos's (rather one-sided) "fight" against Zelos, Mithos hadn't been seen again for almost a month. That's a long time for almost anyone else, but for someone immortal, it might as well be one day. Finally, however, Mithos' frequency begins picking up signals on the starfish, obviously coming from his room, but it's just... pointing at the ceiling, as if it was left on accidentally. Occasionally, the sound of something 'knocking' can be heard, but it's otherwise really quiet. If you're staring at the screen though, you might notice a flash of blonde hair every now and then. He's obviously in there... in case anyone wants to talk to him. Or force their way into his apartment to talk to him, as the case may be.
I'm looking at you, Kratos. ]
Private Text Message to Colette
[ But there is a text message sent to Colette's starfish. ]
Can we talk? It's important. - Mithos
[ Not a lot to go on, is it? ]

Private Text Message to Colette
[ But there is a text message sent to Colette's starfish. ]
Can we talk? It's important. - Mithos
[ Not a lot to go on, is it? ]
private text
[He'd said it was important after all. That probably means he doesn't want anyone nearby when they talk.]
private text --> action?
[ Mithos put the starfish down, and just... stared at it for a while. He realized how odd it was that he was wanting to see Colette alone, and in a place like the forest, but... he had to know. Stuffing the starfish inside his inner shirt pocket, he teleported away, and ended up back in the forest, seated on a rock. ]
action!
Since she hadn't been going anywhere before she saw the message, she arrives after him, though she'd flown there from her apartment. She'd gotten a lot less careful about making sure people didn't see. It didn't really matter anymore, right? So her wings are still out when she smiles at him, sitting on the ground.]
What'd you want to talk about?
action!
Do you remember what you told me about the future of our world? After Lloyd rejoined the worlds?
action!
She blinks and then nods.]
Yeah. Why?
action!
How did my sister become a Summon Spirit?
action!
Well...After we sprouted the Great Seed, her mana - and the mana of some of the other Chosens I think - separated and joined with Tabatha. And then when we talked with her, she said that she wasn't just Martel, but that Martel was one of the souls inside of her, and asked what we wanted to name the tree after saying she was Mana. I was flying when it actually happened, so I can't really tell you more than that. I'm sorry...
[She actually isn't even positive the mana joined with Tabatha, but it makes the most sense, especially since Tabatha wasn't anywhere after that.]
action!
So... it isn't my sister. She really is gone.
[ At first he thought maybe Martel had somehow fused with the Great Seed and became it's new Summon Spirit. The truth was even worse than that. She's no longer Martel, she's now something else entirely. ]
action!
No. I mean, she seemed like she remembered everything and she seemed more like what I saw Martel act like in her memories and when I was her vessel than anything else. I think it's sort of like how when Martel was in my body; it was mostly Martel but I could still do things sometimes. It's like that, but most of the time it's a mix of people and Martel can be in control sometimes if the others don't mind.
[This is just theories on her part, but it makes sense to her. Maybe it is true. She'd only talked to Mana a couple of times after all.]
action!
[ That didn't make sense. How could it be Martel, considering everything she's telling him? But... but it was better than Martel being dead, right? Seeing her body floating there, kept alive only by the Great Seed... it was too much to bear sometimes. ]
It's not my sister anymore is it... right?
action!
[It makes sense to her...]
action!
[ He'll accept it... hopefully. ]
action!
Is that really all that different from her being in someone else's body?
action!
You're such a typical human.
[ He then sighs, breaking off the hostility as quickly as it came. ]
It's still her soul in someone else's body. Now, I don't even know if her soul is the same. It could be hers, it could be someone else's... it could be both.
action!
I don't think her soul changed much, if at all. But...I don't really know for sure. I don't think anyone will ever know, though she does act like Martel.
[She doesn't think telling him that the tree Mana protects is named Yggdrasill will help anything, so unless he asks that isn't going to be said. Ever.]
action!
[ He's essentially questioning if Martel is even Martel anymore. If her soul fused with all of these other souls to create a Summon Spirit... can she really still be called Martel now? Is she still his sister, deep down? The question is too much do bare. ]
I just want to know if my sister is still my sister, and not... not something that just looks like her, but isn't.
action!
She tilts her head. Depending on her answer, Mithos might explode again...]
Um...Martel is still Martel, but Mana is not just Martel. [She's pretty sure, anyway.]
action!
But which is it? Is she Martel, or Mana?
[ His mind just can't process the fact that she might be both. ]
action!
I think she's both. Martel is still Martel, but she's also a part of Mana now.
[Poor Mithos' mind.]
action!
You said Sylvarant and Tethe'alla went to war again.
[ He makes what sounds like a mix between a scoff and a sigh. ]
I knew humans couldn't be trusted to get along, even with each other. I kept them separate for a reason.
action!
[She frowns and shakes her head.] But the separation is part of why they don't get along! Because Tethe'Alla was more advanced, they look down on the people from Sylvarant and the people from Sylvarant really don't like that.
action!
[ Mithos sighs. ]
They think having better technology makes them better than people from Sylvarant, just like having 'pure' blood makes them better than half-elves. They aren't happy unless they feel superior to somebody else. They're hateful by nature.
action!
But not all humans are like that! Sure, that's true of some of us, but not everyone! If it's truly human nature to be jealous or hateful, wouldn't it be true of everyone? Or at least most people?
action!
I knew that would happen. That's why I waited so long to reunite the worlds. I didn't want to risk it until I had Martel back.
action!
That's the same as saying the Desians acted was because that's half-elf nature, and we both know that's not true! [She won't even say anything about the second half of his responses yet.]
