Seventeenth ✰ [Video]
[Well, for those who'd seen him over the network might be used to this sight by now: a white paw batting at the chain hanging from the SFC and thus knocking it off the table it was placed on and onto the floor. Yet, there is no mistaking that he's rather aware of what the kitten is doing just a few feet away from him on the desk as he cleans the station after the news is broadcast, being sure that there is music playing as he dusts. Otherwise this place is... almost exactly as what the person who'd taken him in had left it months ago.
Yes, it has taken him this long to actually step foot in it himself.]
...Kiryu, how many times are you going to press that button before you get tired of it?
[It's almost like he thinks that the white kitten can understand him. Taking into account that a talking mouse is one of his closest friends back home... it isn't exactly that far of a stretch. Yet even with this menial task, it seems like something else is troubling him. At least, that's what his eyes give away when he finally stops and sits down next to the feline who's now batting at the small chain on the SFC. Pressing a button, and suddenly-]
[Locked from Sora]
Does- [No, he's pretty sure someone knows-] Would... anyone be willing to teach me magic? I have a friend who hasn't been able to sleep well since I left briefly the last time by this world's standards. At least back home there's one spell for this... to my knowledge.
[More like 'it was used on me repeatedly', but he wouldn't admit his own vaguely insomniac tendencies when a friend needed it even more than he did. Nor would he admit that he fails miserably about reading about spells and trying to draw on his own inner strength to duplicate the expected results. ...His bad, if anyone woke up to a loud 'bang!' last night.]
[ooc: oh Christ, I'm sorry for all late tags. RL and canon review do not mix well. D:]

Interesting.
There is a very small smile though before he speaks though. ]
If you're not averse to learning from a darker flavor of sorcery, I could possibly help you there, dear boy.

Yet he also couldn't forget the ones who'd tried to teach him defensive and curative magic and his miserable failure in mastering anything they could begin to attempt to teach him outside of light and darkness.
Riku grits his teeth.] ...It wouldn't be the first time. ['Don't call me that.'] What's the catch?

Though perhaps not as much as he'd liked. The boy did have his paranoia and perhaps that was expected considering what happened during the times they crossed swords, so to speak.
But this intrigued him far too much. ]
I can see you're far inclined to these shades than the norm.
[ A pause. He's steepling his fingers behind that SFC. ]
There is no catch. Call it a personal curiosity if one would be able to manipulate my spells the same way. I am a man of science after all, next to that.
[ One chuckle. ]
I've always wanted an apprentice.

After I left Castle Oblivion... there were nights I couldn't sleep. The King would generally be juuust in range to cast something and I'd drop like a fly to wake up a few hours later, unharmed.

You do have a point. A psyche that gets no rest is... worrisome. I can try to teach you the spell if you desire.

You know, that might just come in handy...

I can teach it to you if you'd like. Or... try. I've never taught anyone magic before, and usually we learned most of our spells by beating up demons...
[... Yeah, he's not really sure how that worked either.]

Sounds like me with some of my abilities... [Who else would come up with a Cure Potion over a simple Cure spell?]

What are you even doing to try?

Let's just say one is more potent than the other for me.
