Video: Bianca's death - backdated to the 18th

[Though the broadcast comes from the princess's SFC, it's Guy's body and voice that shows up on the video. Zelda hasn't let the curse deter her from doing her usual patrols longer than a day, and now she's wishing she didn't wait even that long.]

Hello, Vatheon. I have some grave news. When I was on patrol, I discovered another body that was in the same condition as Jacob's - clean incisions, it appears to have been dumped here. I believe it might have been here for a couple of days now. In the chaos of the curse, we must have missed it...

[Behind her is the small, lifeless body of Bianca. She refuses to look at it or say who it is.]

If someone could come and inspect the crime scene, I would appreciate it. I have not moved anything. We must catch the monster who would do something like this.

The last time I talked to her... it was the morning I woke up, and she talked to me the whole time I was going to the coral to make sure I didn't fall. And she's dead?

['Dhaos' is looking upset, worried, a hint of anger in his eyes - who would want to hurt Bianca? She never meant anyone any harm!]

[Link exhales, then continues, his voice a little softer.] Do you want me to come over...? So you're not alone.

[Does she want Link to see a dead child in person? Absolutely not. Coddling is one thing, this is another!]

[But Bianca is his friend, his little sister... and Zelda is important to him. He doesn't want to leave her to handle this on her own. Deflating a little.]

["Even if they seem naive or stupid or brash sometimes... they still need freedom. They need to learn for themselves or they will never change. Keeping them protected from any aspect of life is... well, it's not really giving them much of a chance to live. Keeping them naive isn't keeping them safe.

Uh... [Bit of movement in the background, and Link nods.] There's still some. Do you want me to bring it to you?

[Honestly, he doesn't want to see Bianca dead either, but... looking after Zelda is important, too.]

Please. There's a thermos up in the cabinet above the sink, if you could put it in that.

[She leans against the wall near the scene, texting Link directions to the alley.]

Okay. I'll be there soon.

[It takes Link a few moments to locate the thermos and pour it out, and then he's off to the alley. Locating 'Guy', he starts for her, determinedly not looking in Bianca's direction.]

Hey. Are you okay?

[Thankfully there's nothing to smell, at least - the area has been thoroughly doused in bleach.]

As well as is to be expected, I suppose. I've reported to all the appropriate people now, it's just... waiting for them to get here.

[The smell of bleach isn't much of an improvement, to be honest.]

Okay. I can wait with you, okay? [So she doesn't have to deal with it alone.]

[Zelda leans against the wall, taking the thermos and just running her hands over it quietly.]

She is a sweet girl. I hope that this doesn't change her...

She's really nice. She said she'd be my little sister.

[Not drinking? Link leans against the wall as well, chewing his - well, Dhaos' - lip absently.]

I don't think it can't change you. [He says it suddenly, gazing at the wall ahead of them blankly.] Even if you come back. You still remember...

[Going cold. Going weak. Going numb to everything around you, even the castle beginning to disintegrate, even her hand in his. His voice is a little hoarse when he continues.] I can talk to her when she comes back. Just - if she wants to.

[She does take a drink at that before turning to look at Link.]

You're right... I suppose it's selfish to expect people to not change.

[No matter how good her intentions were, she couldn't keep trying to impose who Link "should" be on him.]

[He turns his head to meet her gaze, but it's Guy's face looking back up at him, and he simply gives her a weak smile then glances away again.]

I don't know how I would have changed, if I had come here and you and Sola hadn't been here. [It's a quiet little admission for a topic rarely spoken of - for the most part, Link likes to pretend that his death never actually happened, that he never had to experience his life being extinguished.]

[But with Bianca like this...]

[Some of the investigators show up, and since Zelda recognizes them, she steps away from the scene a bit.]

So... how has it felt, being an angel? Have you gone flying yet?

Yes I do. [But for now, he'll drop it, holding his hand out to Zelda almost automatically. (Never mind the different bodies - it's still Zelda in there, right? And she is his friend.)]

Uh huh - a few times. It took me a little while to work out how, though - does Guy do anything like that?

[At least she already has experience being in a male body?]

[She takes his hand, laughing a bit.]

No, he doesn't. For me, at least, this is not so strange. He's built similarly to Sheik, honestly.

[Zelda does worry about Guy in her body, though. He can't seem to master the transformation into Sheik, and he's in a state of near-constant stress being in a woman's body...]

I guess it'd be useful to already know what it's like, huh? [He smiles briefly, swinging her hand a little.] It's weird being this tall. I keep thinking I'm going to hit my head on something - it's like when I first woke up and my body was a lot bigger.

[Also a bit of experience there, albeit with the same difficulties adjusting.]

Dhaos is quite tall, isn't he? I'm afraid not every doorway is built to accommodate. I suppose we are both lucky in regards to this curse, since we both have experience with unfamiliar bodies.

[She frowns slightly.]

I am concerned about Ghirahim, though. I'm not sure he knows how to be organic. He doesn't eat nearly enough.

[...Ghirahim. Link wilts a little.] I'm more worried he'll do something bad in my body. What if he hurts someone and it looks like I did it?

He cannot. Nearly all of your weapons can only be wielded by someone with a pure heart, and I don't think that Ghirahim would deign to use a lesser weapon than himself.

[Zelda had to think this one over carefully before deciding it was all right to not lock Ghirahim-Link up for the duration of the curse!]

Well - that's good. I don't want anyone touching the Master Sword -- I don't even know if I can use it like this.. Do you think I can?

[It's not his body, but would the sword recognise his heart? He frowns thoughtfully.]

I'm sure that you can. It recognizes your spirit, after all.

[How many "Link"s had taken up that sword since Link from the Sky drew it? Zelda knows the history of Hyrule as it's been taught to her, but after coming to Vatheon she realizes that there's likely a lot that she doesn't know.]

I guess so. [He smiles briefly, still looking thoughtful.] But just in case, I might put it somewhere safe for now. If we change back, I don't want it to do anything to Dhaos.

That would probably be for the best. We can keep it under my bed for the time being, I will not attempt to touch it.

[And neither will Guy. At least, not after she tells him not to! Not that touching the Master Sword ever harmed Zelda (perhaps it recognizes her on some level, too?), but she never tried to wield it.]

Okay, thanks. I'll move it there when we get back. How long do you think this'll take?
