[Text] - A Day of Little Importance - 013
Lunaday, Ifrit-Decan 41, ND 2018
[The date is circled in Guy's personal journal. But he hasn't bothered to tell anyone. With the curse going on and a murderer on the loose in the city, it doesn't really seem like a decent topic to bring up. Besides, he's never been one to draw attention to himself, especially at times where attention was needed somewhere else.
It's still bringing up an interesting topic to his head, though. Hmm.
Sticking to text this time around for as little confusion as possible - he doesn't need people thinking they're speaking with Zelda, after all.]
I understand different cultures have different ideas of when someone is considered an adult, right?
So hey... on your home worlds, what would people do for someone who had come of age? Celebrations, ceremonies... or maybe it's not exactly a right of passage as far as you're concerned?
I'm curious.
[And he'll just leave it at that. He's technically been an adult on Auldrant for long enough - exactly a year ago, to the day.
But he already learned a while ago to treat his birthday as just another day. Celebrate that he's stayed alive one more year, and that's it.
So that is exactly what he's going to do.]

Likely a few.
[ text ]
Are engagements planned by the parents, or by the government as a whole?

So the current Emperor has no children? What does he plan to do for an heir, then...?
[ text ] ... that cut off :T
Died ten years ago. Ioder has become emperor only recently. Estellise was other candidate until events.
[ text ] I was wondering!
Ioder? He seems really... young for a ruler.
[ text ] tag-save failed me
[ .... He screwed his country over on purpose, honestly.
[ text ]
And Estellise... is there a reason she was only a candidate for so long?
[ text ]
Estellise was the candidate the council chose. Ioder was the candidate the Imperial Knights chose. One had to gain either Dein Nomos, or the support of the other half.

I don't think I understand. [That seems like a really peculiar way to run your country, not gonna lie.]
[ text ]
Originally, Dein Nomos was the sign of the pact between the remaining Children of the Full Moon and the Entelexeia. The sword is capable of gather and dispersing Aer; it can destroy Blastia, which caused the problem the pact was part of resolving. It can calm the Children of the Full Moon as well. However, humans are apt at forgetting such things; nearly 800 years later is my time, where Blastia are being used once again, thought as marvelous technology and with no understanding of the dangers they create. Dein Nomos simply became the symbol of the imperial family; woven into their religion as a device of the goddess. Likely to inspire feelings of protection and right from a deity for those chosen to rule. It usually 'follows' bloodlines, however, as mentioned, Emperor had been childless. Went to cousins. Corrupt or greedy sought to gain Dein Nomos, so they could make use of it as their 'sign' they should rule.
[ Only. The blade went missing because Duke wandered off with it because he was pissed off at his country. ]
