Rin, I need to ask you for a favor.

I know it's late, but Roxas' birthday is still important and I wanted to throw him a party. He deserves it. So I was wondering, what kind of things do you think he'd be into, and for a general idea how many people should I anticipate being interested?

I can only really tell you from what I remember, which might not be entirely accurate. He liked the sea, sea-salt ice cream, and playing sports. We had a dart board back home and used to play Struggle. He had star things all over his room.

These are all good things to start with. We could have some sports going on...and maybe have it up on the beach, until late at night! Do you think he'd like that?

I bet he would love it. He would probably like being thought of, you know?

[Pause. Oh hey.] Maybe we can set up a projector up there and watch a movie. If it's raining on the Island we can scope out the ghost town up there.

[he nods, excited.] Good idea. A movie would be perfect, and I'm sure we could find some place to play it--whether on the Island or ghost town like you said. What kind of movies do they have here?

Fish puns. [Making a face.] They aren't so bad once you get used to it. You can also go find some over at Nostalgia Nook, but you have to pay with your tokens.

Fish...puns? How do you make a story out of those?

The Lionfish King, The Swordfish and the Stone, and Jackbass. They try, man. Some times it's pretty decent, while other times... It is a fish flop.]

Those sound...fascinating.

I think you've been spending too much time with the locals.

[He had to wonder for a moment if that was a good thing or not.

And then he came to the conclusion that it definitely wasn't a good thing.]

Maybe a bit. Guess it's good I haven't touched their video games yet. [Sheepish smile.]

Maybe checking out the Nook for movies from other worlds could be worth it.

They have video games about fish too? That can't be healthy.

It couldn't hurt.

I don't know if there is actually anything healthy about this place really. I haven't seen cows around here. Where do you think they get the beef they serve then?

[He will still eat it because it's a hamburger. But it does make you wonder.]

I'll be sure to do that. I think I still have some tokens left.

Cows? What are-- I figured they got it from the same place they got us.

[Wow. So they got pulled from their home to be slaughtered. Now that is kind of depressing.

I'll keep that in mind. I guess some adventure comedy would be the safe bet.

I'd like ta be there. And... I think whatever kind of party or gifts he gets, they should... what's the word... express his... individuality.

Of course, anyone can come. What do you mean by that?

It's a bit complicated ta explain, but he's been feelin' like people only like him and help him out because of his connection ta someone else. So we gotta show him we appreciate him for who he is.

[He can emphasize.] Then the best thing to do is to stop focusing on this other person and what makes Roxas different and just focus on Roxas. It's pretty simple.

That's exactly right! And I know we can do it!

Now that we got that said... every birthday party needs a cake, and I think we should get ice cream cake! Kid seems ta like ice cream... but who doesn't?

Should it be that salt ice cream?

Mm-hm! Sounds delicious!

[Considering he'd been here longer than her she doesn't see why she's so surprised he picked a day for himself, but it was the first she'd heard of it.]

I'm a friend of his, so if you're throwing him a party I'd love to help.

[Even though it's a statement it almost sounds like she's asking permission.]

Yeah, it was meant to be the last day of summer, but then the body-switching thing happened, and then all the other stuff, so as you can tell it didn't really work out. But we're still celebrating it!

[He nods, grinning.]

I could use all the help I can get. I'm Tidus, by the way.

[She pauses for a second to think]

Well, what do you have put together so far?

Nice to meet you too. We'll probably have it on the beach, and we'll set up a projector and watch a movie at some point. There will be sports going on too, and...ice cream cake?

That sounds perfect! If we're there at the right time the sunset should should be really nice too.

[She has just one question]

I didn't know you could make a cake with ice cream, though.

Good idea, we'll have it at sunset!

I was thinking a beach party, and other people suggested movies and ice cream cake. We could have some sports going on too.

He likes the beach and he likes ice cream, so those would be good. He's also into Struggling and skateboarding, but I dunno if those would really be party material, y'know?

What is this Struggling thing anyway? Maybe we can think of something else.

Axel... I'll remember it.

It's basically two kids whacking each other around with foamy sticks to collect their opponents points. The one with the most points moves higher up in the ranks and the winner eventually earns themselves a nice trophy.

You know. Something the mayor or whatever came up with on a blurry Saturday night.

[Shrug]

That...must have been a really blurry night. But sparring's fun, so I guess I could see why. But it's like you said, it doesn't sound exactly like party material.
