The Defense Force has Doctor Riffael detained in Larmline, Floor 1, Apartment 3. There will not be repeats of the last few weeks. He has been fitted with a device so his location will be known at all times.

You're welcome to visit him for questioning, but physical aggression will not be tolerated.

We need people to watch Riffael. You'll be in pairs. I understand some of us were personally attacked, or have had friends who were. Volunteer for guard duty only if you feel you're able to keep your composure.

We also need three people to guard Kratos in Pendilum, Floor 3, Apartment 4. You'll be on rotating shifts. Kratos is not to leave the location; reacting with violence as he had when there was no immediate threat is unacceptable.

I can not help but feel the need to volunteer to look after Mr. Riffael- I should of been more aware of his activities due to the fact that we share the same line of work- the clinic.

I can keep my composure. But I wouldn't want to put anyone at risk by not being fully capable, so if you'd like to put me on as a third person on Riffael at times, like when there are more likely to be visitors, that might be best.

I wouldn't treat them badly, if that's what you're worried about. I'd just ignore him if it was the bad one and make sure no one comes near.

We'll be determining whether there's any difference between Doctor Riffael and the Riff he's claiming to be.

[Serph nods; yeah, they could do with more help. But... he also knows there are those within the Defense Force who would object to Tiir's presence, given the local killing that was broadcasted.]

[Lloyd honestly doesn't know how to respond to the news that the man who attacked him is now under arrest. He has so many mixed feelings, especially after hearing "Riff's" call before, he doesn't know what to think or do.

Fortunately, Serph's given Lloyd the perfect distraction to pull his mind away from that.]

Wait, why is Kratos under arrest?

{Because Lloyd is on the Defense Force, too, he heard that second half.]

[Serph has no reason to hide what Kratos did, so his response is blunt.]

At the time of his encounter with Riffael, Riffael was not behaving aggressively. Kratos broke Riffael's hands and used the coral to heal them incorrectly.

[Lloyd sucks in a sharp breath at that news.]

He... broke his hands?

[Broken hands that had been healed like that meant the man who'd tortured him couldn't ever hold a knife properly again. It would be nearly impossible for him to grab someone from behind, to jab needles into them before they had a chance to fight. Broken hands meant...

Meant...

Never being able to hold someone's hand the way a hand should be held. Meant even picking up simple objects like forks and spoons and pens would be difficult, if not painful. Meant that if anyone ever wanted to heal those hands, they'd have to break them all over again.

Lloyd shudders, torn between emotions.]

That... that bastard. That's not... He shouldn't have done that. Torture shouldn't be the answer to torture.

[But that's why Kratos is locked up, of course.]
