[Hey Vatheon, instead of a view of Sola's face, the first thing that pops up is a massive pair of antlers, adorned with leaves from the park's trees, a piece of paper pierced through one prong, several short lengths of tangled cord wrapped around here and there, a small lantern, and a bat (by the name of Johnny Rayflo of course) who turns on one foot and yawns as he lazily hangs from the horns.

It takes a minute, but Sola finally steps back so he can be seen along with his impressive headgrowth.]

This curse is stupid.

[Oh, hey, that's actually kind of comfy with the wing there. Sola kind of snuggles into it, petting some of the soft feathers.]

If you want to. It might be fun even if it's not the same as flying.

[Mmm, pettings. He's definitely going to pet Asi more, this feels nice.]

It might be! And you can get used to being a little bit higher off the ground. But it's still really safe!

It's weird though. I can still climb trees and stuff, I just get scared on the edges of buildings and if I'm up in the air all the way. I can't even look too close out the window of Johnny's apartment.

[Link makes a thoughtful noise - or, well, about as thoughtful as a Loftwing can manage.] Maybe it's because the tree's still under you? Falling off things can be kind of scary. D'you remember inside the Great Deku Tree?

[Or Dodongo's Cavern... or Jabu Jabu... or that five-floor drop in the Fire Temple he nearly fell down... or the time he slipped off the ladder in the well... or the Shadow Temple... not to mention his own tree house!]

Yeah, that was okay at the time but now I think I'd be too scared to jump.

[Nope, not happening...]

[Birdy wince, here.] Well - that's okay. I won't go up if you don't want me to, okay?

Then what's the point?

[He sighs and leans back into the soft and cooshy feathers, then smiles a little.]

It's okay, it's fine like this. You're a pretty comfy pillow!

[Link laughs a little, ruffling the wing that's partially covering Sola.] I kind of wish I could have a bird too, like the other Link. It sounds comfy!

[And he can't really... use himself as a pillow...]

You have a bird though! Asi's really cool even if she doesn't fly.

[Maybe she's cooler because she doesn't.]

[Oh. Oops...] I kinda forgot about him. [Loftwings can look sheepish, did you know that, Sola?] I guess he's more like a horse with feathers, right? I kinda wanted to be able to go flying, too.

But he is pretty comfy!

Do you sleep on him? I dunno if he'd like that all the time.

Not on purpose. [...There's a 'but' in there.] I might have by accident when we were in the forest or the park or something.

I'd do it on purpose! It's really comfy.

[Hmm...]

Do you want to take a nap?

[It is kind of comfy! Link ruffles his feathers a little.] Okay. It'd be pretty fun napping on a bird, huh?

Yup!

[As if to illustrate, Sola produces a prodigious yawn and curls over onto his side, head nicely pillowed on the copious amounts of feathers.]

[Link laughs a little, then spreads his wing over Sola like a blanket.] Sleep well, [he murmurs, then tucks his head under his wing (...so weird) and drifts off.]
