Day 213 - [Accidental Video / Open to Action]

[coolerthansora]

[The video clicks on when Roxas starts awake, hitting it accidentally. He's not in his room but on the couch in the living area, the TV on and just beginning to scroll through the credits of some movie. After his exposure to film at his birthday he thought he'd try renting something to help pass the night. He must have drifted off at some point and been woken by the finale.

He turns the TV off, regretting it as the reflection in the screen shows him a face that isn't his. Yesterday, he thought it was just another nightmare, but now he knows better. It's unsettling, but he's trying not to freak out.

Turning away from the screen, he notices Axel sprawled nearby as if watching, too. Or at least, he thinks it's Axel, but the SFC shows nothing there. Roxas tries to smile.]

Couldn't sleep either?

[But the figure isn't moving. And then he notices the wisps of black coming off of his friend, dissolving into nothing.

Like when he died.

Already on edge, a panic seizes him now. Something got to Axel. Something from these nightmares hurt him and now he's... Roxas tries to reach him, but trips over the coffee table and falls. By the time he scrambles back up, Axel's nearly vanished, and then... gone.]

Okay.

I guess- your place is a little lonely, huh?

[ Sora nodded again. ]

Mickey and the animals are there but...

[ He didn't mind staying with the king, but on nights like tonight? It just made him miss Riku and Kairi all the more and he was grateful for Roxas being here. Besides none of the animals in the apartment were his. ]

[Action]

Maybe you should come over more often.

Um.. we could have sleepovers or something.

[Action]

[runbysmiles]

You sure that would be okay?

[ Sora was friends with Axel too, but this was Axel and Roxas's space and they were best friends. Sora didn't want to be a third wheel. ]

[Action]

[coolerthansora]

Yeah. Axel likes you, I don't think he'd mind having you around sometimes.

[But if he ever does ask Axel out, he's not inviting you along. :|]

[Action] I read that differently than it was meant to be read for a moment there |D;;

[ Sora smiled softly and nodded. ]

Okay, I'd like that.

[ No worries there, he understands the meaning of bro times. ]

[Action] uhhh >_>

[Roxas smiles a little himself.]

I like having you around, too.

[Action] Don't mind me 8D

[runbysmiles]

Yeah, so do I.

[ He gave Roxas a quick squeeze before slowly letting him go. ]

Maybe if we just go to sleep these things will leave us alone.

[Action] /rolls

[coolerthansora]

I thought I was asleep.

[And then something woke him up so he could see that.]

...but, maybe it's worth a try.

[ Well this time at least Sora would be beside him. ]

It couldn't hurt right? I'll be right there if you wake up and see anything scary.

...yeah. Okay.

[Wait, are they both sleeping on the couch?]

[Action]

[runbysmiles]

[ Sora tilted his head a bit at the look on Roxas's face. ]

Your bed's the same as mine right?

[ Come on Roxas you have a room don't you? Don't tell him you've been sleeping on the couch this whole time! ]

[Action]

[Shhh, he wasn't really thinking about moving.]

Oh, right. Yeah.

[He gets up clumsily off the couch to show Sora the way.]

[ Sora helps him out and follows down the hall. He makes it a point to keep his eyes glued to the back of Roxas's head, but he can still see his own nightmares out of the corners of his eyes. ]

[Action]

[Roxas pushes open the door to his room. He doesn't turn the light on, but he never turned off the night sky projector when he left earlier, and the little points of light spatter the walls and ceiling. It's plenty to see by, especially when light is your element. He motions Sora on inside.]

Whoa.

[ Sora stares up at the "stars" that are dotting Roxas's ceiling. ]

That's cool!

[Action]

[coolerthansora]

Yeah. Tidus gave it to me.

[It is pretty neat-looking, huh?]

[Action]

[runbysmiles]

[ Sora laughs, and moves past Roxas to get a better look at the ceiling. He holds his hand up to the stars and closes his hands around them as if trying to hold them. ]

You know...back on the Islands, I used to love watching the stars at night.

[Action]

[coolerthansora]

Yeah?

[Is that why he likes them?]

We didn't really get to see them in Never Was. It was overcast all the time.

[Action]

[runbysmiles]

[ Sora nodded. ]

I'd always try and connect the stars to make shapes. I know there's constellations and stuff, but it's fun to make your own.

[ Sora's smile saddened a bit. ]

I kinda wish we could do that again sometime.

[ But with Riku and Kairi gone... ]

You're lucky [ Sora brought his hand down and looked over at Roxas. ] That Axel's still here with you.

[Action]

[coolerthansora]

[Roxas blinks. It's the thing he's so scared of losing, and yet...]

...you'll have Riku when you go home again.

[Action]

[runbysmiles]

You'll have Axel too.

[ Sora smiled a little. He didn't know it for certain, but... ]

I know you guys aren't really supposed to have hearts, but something in you two is connected. You'll never lose each other. Somehow you'll always come back to one another. I know it.

[Action]

[coolerthansora]

[Roxas shakes his head a little.]

It won't be the same if- we're not us.

[Action]

[runbysmiles]

Your hearts would still be connected, Roxas.

[ Sora sighed. ]

Who knows, maybe some how you two can be together again even back home.

[Action]

[coolerthansora]

We're not lucky like that.

Axel'll be Lea, and- I'll be you, so... what we have now, it'll be gone.
