[~~through the magic of time shenanigans~~ It has been several hours since Redglare's arrival. Hours she spent investigating, scourging the brochure from top to bottom for every fragment of information, and even checking up on as much of the network as she reasonably could. She's even created a folder of notes on her personal palmtop dedicated to this strange, underwater prison. She is, above all, a professional after all, and it wouldn't do for a member of Alternia's Cruellest Bar to simply run around like a beheaded cluckbeast.

For now, it is time to change the focus of her investigation. Certainly there is much more to be found from investigating the place itself, but it would be a mistake to ignore the people living in it. And Redglare does not make mistakes. She has questions to ask, answers to discovered, and a network to start up, regardless of how long or short her stay may end up being.

Yeah. [He smiles, pleased that she knew who his ancestor was, but he blinks in surprise at her next statement] Oh, did you hear about him here, then?

No, I heard about him while on Alternia. Not much, mind you. But certainly some.

[He glances at her sidelong, his eyes slightly narrowed. He knows what his ancestor was involved in before he was taken as a Helmsman by the Condesce, and he really wonders what she heard about him.

So he grins suddenly.]

Only good stuff, right?

[He opens the door to the pizza restaurant and leads the way inside]

Some good stuff, yes. Some dreadful, awful stuff.

[She knows what he was sentenced to. It makes her wish she could just cut it short, and give him the oblivion of death he so deserves.

The pizza restaurant catches some of her attention. Hey, it is her first time in a strange alien restaurant. At least it smells nice.]

Yeah. He sure was awesome, the way he rebelled against his fate as a slave, and it sure was shitty of the Condesce to turn him into a helmsman.

[This is said firmly, and with a tiny bit of aggression. He's not about to toe the line, and this is the moment in which he tells her that. If she's in bed with the highbloods, that's fine, but he isn't going to pretend that any of it is okay. And if she's not, that's even better.

He gestures to the order board and the pre-made pizzas.]

Take a look, see if there's anything that looks good to you. [He pauses, suddenly awkward] Hey, you aren't blind, are you?

I think 'shitty' is a bit of a shitty way of describing that particular sentence.

[Oversleeping is shitty. Stepping in lusus leavings is, pun not entirely intended, shitty. Being forced to be her personal Helmsman is a bit beyond shitty.

But lets turn our attention to the less depressing part of the conversation. She regards the order board for a moment, before turning her head back to him at that question. A smile curls her lips, and she reaches up to tug her glasses down just enough to peer at him over the edge.]

I assure you, my eyes are in perfect working order. Now tell me. Which one of these is really good?

[She motions at the order board.]

Well, it was. And a lot of worse things, too. He's a fucking mess.

[He brightens a bit, though. She is passing the test so far, so he walks up to the counter and points around] It depends on what you want. They're all these flat bread things with tomato sauce and cheese, and then a bunch of other stuff. I like the spicy sausage. [Oh god it feels good to say that]

Spicy sausage? How spicy would you say this human sausage is?

[Whatever whatever, she heard spicy, she wants it.]

Well, okay. If you're sure! You should go with peppers and sausage, then. And they give you hot sauce if you need more.

[He walks up to the cashier and orders a small with sausage and banana peppers, and tosses on some pepperoni, just because. What's a pizza without pepperoni? Not a proper pizza at all. Or so he was told.]

[She observes him, before she places her own order, making sure to ask for the peppers and sausages and hot sauces like he had said.]

[He moves towards one of the tables and sits down, leaning back in his chair as he waits for his pizza to be made]

No, I just like dressing like this because I am really into uniforms.

Haha, of course, I am a real legislacerator. I passed my final assignment a bit over a sweep ago.

[Sollux outright beams, and lifts his first slice of pizza, tipping it towards her in a sort of salute.]

[And now the first triangle of goodness is going down his gullet with surprising speed]

I'm glad. Even the possibility of your disapproval could've devastated my long, glamorous life!

[But it is time to investigate the pizza. She eyes it for a moment, before she mirror him and picks up a slice. There isn't any hesitation in her as she pops it into her mouth and--

Awww yissss, motherfucking pizza..]

Of course it could have! I'm super important. [He laughs and stuffs more pizza in his mouth, watching her] You like?

Eating it feels like it is going to burn off my tongue.

[He grins, pleased. He had, after all, suggested the meal]

[he laughs] Wow, thanks. I feel like I've levelled up or something.
