I seem to have gotten myself into quite a pickle.
Not only am I soaking wet, which is nearly ten times as worse when you have a long gown on, I am also freezing.
Can anyone tell me where in good heavens name I have ended up?
Direct me to some warmer clothing?

[Yeah, Jane looks like a drowned rat. This is not how she imagined she would be spending this day.]

Not yet! But since you're here now, I've got high hopes for him. Dirk 'n I picked this really sweet house with four rooms and we've kept two of them empty just for the two of you.

[ Always thinking ahead! Or well... okay, Dirk is always thinking ahead, but Roxy is always think of friends, and combined, they got the right house. ]

Also pretty much everything here is free, unless you want super special stuff from like home or something, but basically everything else is one hundred percent snaggable.

[ But then she pauses and turns as a sudden thought hits her and she plants both of her hands on to Jane's shoulders. ]

Snap I just realized. If and when Jakey shows up, are you gonna tell him? 'Cause I mean Dirk's here too and now the two of you will have a primo chance to shake what you've got at him to entice Mr. English and it's going to be so embarrassing and facepalm-worthy to watch.

[ Roxy Lalonde: considers the important issues. ]

That is...really considerate of you two. I'm glad I have the both of you.

[Jane will give Roxy credit to. Combined her and Dirk are two very good friends. She could never ask for better.]

Then let's go snag something dry, what do you say?

No. I'm not going to tell him. Quite some time ago I encouraged Jake to pursue Strider if that was what he felt he needed to do. They are best friends you know, so if pursuing him is really what Jake desires I won't stand in the way.

[ SLUMP. ]

Janey no. Why. Why is that a thing you would say or allow you are breaking my heart.

[ DRAMATIC. SIGH. ]

You 'n I are gonna hash that out later right now we need to get you dry 'n stuff.

[ Truth be told, she could just take Jane back to the house; there are clothes in her closet already. But Roxy wants a little BFF alone time.

Besides, the Striders are having a Moment anyway. ]

[She raises a brow.]

Because right now we're all in a hot situation back home, and talking about feelings was just going to have to wait. I suppose. Though I am completely okay with Dirk and Jake being more than just friends.

[Truth be told, she does like Jake. But why stand in someone elses way?]

Alright. We can find something cute for us to wear back home.

[ LE SIGN. She just shakes her head and takes a hold of Jane's hand again before heading off toward the shops. ]

Okay so as I was saying, basically whatever you could want is gonna be free so you don't gotta be shy with the clothes. Though I'll admit I've been stocking your closet already.

[BUT ROXY. SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW.]

My closet? [She has this same reaction with Dirk later on. She honestly didn't believe she actually had a room waiting for her at home. She is just so happy and humbled by her friends.]

So, should we find something warm and cute then? If nothing is off limits.

[ LET ROXY TEACH YOU. ]

Yup. Your room is the one that's closest to mine and it's all set up for ya. I mean aside from like decorations 'n stuff since I figured you'd wanna do that yourself. We should get you bedding 'n shit while we're out! I mean there's a pillow and blanket already but it's like boring ass grey and you are not boring ass grey.

[ Nope. ]

We're gonna get all the cute shit it'll be awesome. Well okay not all I mean we've got plenty of time to go shopping but y'know.

[ROXY, JANE WASN'T MADE FOR THIS KIND OF STRESS.]

I don't even know what to think yet. To think you and I originally clashed our personalities. [Over how stubborn Miss Crocker is.] Roxy, let mes ask you something strange. Even if i still don't fully believe those things you've said to me. You know about the future and about CrockerCorp. You will forgive me for being such a priss about it- right?

[She kind of pulls Roxy into a store. Because whoa look at that cute bright blue sweater.]

[ Oh that is a cute-- wait hold on serious moment.

Roxy tugs Jane to her and envelops her in a hug again (standing, this time!), burying her face against her shoulder. ]

Janey, you are my best friend in the entire world and I will always forgive you, no matter what. I would be all hells of lost without you around. There's no way I could stay upset.

[ It still sucked when Jane didn't believe but... hey. Roxy probably wouldn't if the roles were reversed. ]

[Jane is going to pick it up here in a moment once she finds some dry undergarments and some pants.Shoes would be nice too. But nope. At this moment she has arms full of Roxy again, and she doesn't mind it at all.

Jane is kind of a gentle hugger, so there is just a little baby squeeze for Roxy.]

I've always wanted to believe you. But it just didn't seem possible. ANy of it.

I know. It sounds bizarre as shit and like the plot of one of Jake's movies or somethin'. I mean, come on, space bitch destroys Earth and tries to use humans as breeding stock? Pretty sure a porn has been made like that.

[ SHRUG. ]

But you are my sister forever, Janey. I've always been willing to wait for you to come around.

But why would she bother using Betty Crocker to do that. [Media Jane. MEDIA. Plus brownies are godly.] That just didn't seem very realistic. Even some of Jake's movies were more realistic than that.

[Just, have another squeeze.]

Perhaps one day I'll attempt to make some sense of it. I really do want to believe you guys more than half way.

Because who the fuck doesn't like baked goods?

[ Duh.

Roxy smiles, and the light in it is a little sad, as she ruffles Jane's hair. ]

I won't lie when I say it's totes sucked all this time when I'd say like my mom's dead and you'd be uh huh okay Lalonde that's funny hey let me tell you about Crocker Cakes, but you know what? I always knew that there'd come a day you'd believe me and it'd basically be the best day I could ever ask for, 'cause it'd probably happen at the same time we actually got to meet face to face, which makes it two times the awesome day.

'Cause let's face it. Alien bitch takin' over the world with cake is pretty damn out there. I probably wouldn't have believed me, either.

[With that said, Jane brings Roxy close again. That sounds way worse than it should. Holy gravy. She's really been quite a hard to deal with friend.

Jane literally takes a moment to choke a little sob back. Because ouch, hearing all of this right now really hurts and she didn't mean to be such an awful friend.]

Roxy, I am so sorry. I am so sorry you had to deal with me acting like that. Now that you say it that way I feel like I could have been ten times the friend I am now. Believe me, it's a doozy believing things like that; however, that doesn't just excuse my behavior. It never will excuse my lack of being a good friend.

I thought it would be a cold day in you know where before I believed you. But now that the game has started, and I've witnessed what I have. I think it's about time I get my rear end off of my shoulders. What do you say?

[ Oh okay we're going back to the hugging thing that's cool. Roxy likes hugs. She spent at least ten minutes hugging Dirk when they first got here. ]

Well I'd say that's a pretty damn good start, but don't go beatin' yourself up for taking so long to come around okay? I kinda always knew it would but I also knew you so I was absolutely one hundred and twenty-seven percent confident--I totally did the math, the twenty-seven percent is important--that you would come around.

But none of that even matters here 'cause there's no Batterwitch and no game it's just us and living together being awesome.

[Jane likes hugs too. She likes hugs a lot. Especially from her friends. She just doesn't know what she would do without them.]

We'll be like one big family here. Which is nice to think about. No one to really bother us. No one to jump our cases. No game to play. Why didn't we come here sooner?

Dunno but you know what? I'm sure as shit not complaining. I mean... really, we've got it pretty well made here.

[ Not questioning it. Sure there's important things to do at home or whatever but... a vacation is okay too, right? ]

Something wanted us safe, and here we are. Safer than ever.

[A vacation is very acceptable. Jane will take a vacation any day.]

[ There's excitement in her that's visibly bubbling beneath the surface before she finally bursts, launching herself into an extra-enthusiastic hug on Jane again. ]

You're here you're here you're here I'm so happy it's just been me 'n Dirk for so long and I mean I love the guy to death but have you ever spent months with just Dirk? I'm climbin' walls.

[All of those times Jane ever blew off Roxy because she didn't want to deal with her, or she was just plain angry at her for doing the things she did. Those times were long gone. Jane is letting this overenthusiastic hug happen and gosh darn she is going to enjoy it!]

I've never been alone with him, no. Is he really quiet or something? Perhaps quite the opposite?

Bizarre as fuck, that's what he is. Spends like the first two hours of the day in the shower--which, p.s., if you were a morning showerer before, you're gonna have to either get up extra early or start takin' your showers at night--or out in the garage, tinkerin' on some robot.

Also it'll be nice to see your adorable mug every morning, in addition to his.

[ Cheek pinch. ]

He takes two hour long showers? He and I will have to have a discussion about rationing our time in the shower. Without a morning shower I am not the Jane everyone knows and loves.

Though watching him work sounds fun.

[She grins, aww come on Roxy!!]

I'm not adorable. But it'll be nice to see you and Dirk in the morning.

At least. I dunno, sometimes I think he might just fall asleep in there or something. He still doesn't sleep much, y'know. Also you are totes like the most adorabibble person I know I mean lookit you, with your 50s housewife shtick. I love it.
