Um. Hi, Vatheon! I wanted to ask, since it's been on my mind a couple times since I got here. Do you guys have any spirits in your worlds? Like, that embody the elements and stuff? Back where I'm from, we have Summon Spirits--eight primary for the main elements, two that are way older, a third for the Kharlan Tree that supplies the world with mana, and [She falters just the tiniest bit, but it's over in less than a second.] a newer one that sees the hearts of people. Anyone have something similar? Or even something different! I guess you could also say this is also about how magic works in your worlds, if you don't have spirits like we do.

No, I'm afraid not. We have the souls of the dead, and apparently the children Vatheon has brought have something to do with... classes and aspects? Thief of Light, Heir of Void, things like that, but I am rather oblivious to such things.

We don't have magic- as far as I know- but we do have psionic trolls.

Wow, really? That sounds pretty neat. We don't really have "classes" in that way; people who do different jobs because of how they're trained and stuff, like magic swordsmen versus swordsmen, though, we have, but not with "aspects". But I guess you could call your "aspects" your elements in a way, to compare them.

Could you tell me about that? I don't think we have anything like that.

I'm not sure if it's quite like that. Again, however, I am not the expert in such matters. You would be better speaking with my descendent, Equius.

The psionic trolls? Certainly. A psionic troll has a mutation in their brain which grants them abilities. The lower you are on the hemospectrum- in other words, the warmer your bloodcolor is, the higher your chances are of being hatched with psionics. It's slightly rarer in higherbloods like bluebloods, but not untold of. Seadwellers have none at all.

They vary greatly. Some can lift objects with their mind a la telekinesis, while others can create energy blasts. Some can read or control minds. Things such as that.

Hmm, I think I will! It's really interesting to know that there are worlds without magic. I mean, not everyone has access to it on Aselia, mainly elves and those with elven blood, but there are other ways around it, you could say.

But blood colour? How do you mean?

I mean what I say. It is possible for a troll to have one of twelve different bloodcolors- thirteen now if we count a mutation. The color decides ones place on the hemospectrum, along with a few other things.

Fortunately, it is not a very common power. I only knew two who could do so over troll minds, and they were both centuries apart from one another. I know another two who can do it in the case of animals, along with communicate with them, but they are also separated by many sweeps.

Fortunately, at least for higherbloods, the cooler your blood, the stronger your resistance to mental influence is.

Wow. We have elves and humans that can reproduce with each other, and their offspring can reproduce, too, but nothing like blood colours. Is there any other significance to blood colour other than likelihood of these "mutations"?

That's pretty fortunate, though, that it's so rare. How does blood colour affect resistance?

It determines one's place in the world, and what resources are available to them.

It's alright; I am used to them when speaking of my world and culture The tpe of blood affects the mind, doesn't it? In a way, I suppose that is an ability of its own the resistance.

Making those kinds of decisions based on things people can't control? That's not exactly fair.

You seem to be under the impression that life on Alternia was any means of fair. The powerful took control, took power, and did anything they could to keep it.

Do you mean to say you have nothing similar in your world?

So that means you're just going to let it stay that way?

Just because someone is different doesn't change that they're still alive and have a heart and a mind just like anyone else. People are people, and no one is inherently better or worse because of how they're born. That shouldn't be judged by their blood or how they look!

We... Have an ongoing problem with that, in my world. Elves and humans think they're better than half-elves, and there's no reason for it at all. They're treated like second class citizens or worse, and not very many at all see anything wrong with it. It doesn't matter how many half-elves have tried to help others, have taught in schools, are the smartest people you could hope to meet, or if they have family. Just by being half-elves, people think of them automatically in a certain way. You can't help the way you're born, but...!

It ends up destroyed. There's really nothing that can be done for Alternia now.

I hardly said that it was right. But you asked what the significance of blood color was. I answered.

There's no need to apologize. How could you know? Besides, it was a very old planet... This was inevitable.

I am. I suppose perhaps that is why I feel so disconnected from the event itself.

Different experiences and different ages can change quite a bit, I imagine. Humans, I've found, are a much kinder race.

We give in to our emotions a lot, anyway. Whether they're positive or negative. Age and experience... definitely can change the way you look at the world. Though I think this is true for a lot of different peoples. It's just how those emotions are handled that makes the difference.

Societal influences would certainly be a factor then. I know it is on my world. Depending on your blood, occupation, and the romantic quadrants you've fulfilled, there is something of an expectation on how you should act and around whom.
