[Video] Slightly backdated to early morning
[The feed opens on Tech, but there appears to be something in the side of the frame. What do you have there, Te--
. . . is that? Yes, it is. There appears to be an adult-like human attached to Tech’s hand.
A few citizens may recognize him to be Shulk. Shulk is peering over Tech’s shoulder curiously. But Tech is far too tired and frustrated to find the circumstances entertaining, at the moment. Well, mostly. He pulls their hands closer to the camera.]
Is anyone else having this problem?
[ooc: (later) responses may come from Shulk as well.]

[Dirk tilts his head.]
Who's that?
Good question. All I know is that his name is Shulk. He was delivering parts. You wouldn't have something to do with this, would you?

Actually, I 'saw' Tech needing these parts when I was at the shops.
[SORRY FOR KINDA LYING TO YOU, TECH.]
I saw it in my mind. Like... a vision.
I don't really know much about it myself but... Sometimes it's as if time has stopped, and I see something that's about to happen.
[Let's go with a free-for-all posting order?]
[ooc:free-for-all sounds about right.]
Actually this only started happening a few minutes before I arrived here.
I wonder what would happen if you tried to go against the things you saw. Is this a case of narrative causality, or is it simply going to happen sooner or later?
If the former is the case, then you have to wonder what is actually being seen. Is it a purely hypothetical projection somehow, or the image of an actual, quantum event?
It's started happening ever since I used the Monado.
[There isn't much room to really show the two, especially since his hand's still stuck to Tech's, so he settles for turning his head to look at the pommel of the red sword strapped to his back. He turns his attention back to the camera. As for Dirk's question...]
I've seen attacks before they happen and avoided them. But, there...
[His expression falls and he falters for a moment. There was one future he couldn't change.]
...There was a future I saw that came to pass.
A future not related to a direct attack? I wonder if it's the nature of the event that prevents that, or the time between them. I'd argue that it seems strange for the cause to be a sword, but nothing's impossible. There's likely some explanation or another for it.
I can't say that my experiences with hints about the future have been the same.
[He looks to Shulk.]
So what kinds of events have you been seeing visions of? Is there any kind of pattern that you might have observed?
Ten is not biased at all.]Other than in battle...
[Shulk shakes his head.]
There's just been my vision of you needing those parts and... losing my friend.
[He doesn't even realise his hands are balled into fists until he takes a breath to calm himself, and continues. RIGHT MAYBE HE SHOULD BACKTRACK A BIT. He raises his head.]
The Monado is said to be the sword of the Bionis, the dead god we live on. It's not like other swords. It can't cut people, and it's the only weapon that's effective against the Mechon.
To be honest, I've seen other things when I was researching the Monado, but they were like... flashes of scenes. I can't figure out what they were showing me.
Fascinating. You say "reasearching" the Monado. Does this mean that you had never attempted to use it yourself, but that these full visions corresponded with your doing so?
I've activated it a few times, but never used it in battle until now. My home was pretty peaceful. The problem is controlling the Monado. The last person who was able to control the Monado ended up losing the use of his right arm.
[So there's a pretty good reason Shulk has been... cautious, in his research.]
Shulk shakes his head again.]
No, I'm the only one who's seen these visions. Dunban, the previous wielder of the Monado, used it to fight the Mechon in the Battle of Sword Valley a year ago.
[Right, right, context.]
The Mechon are a race of machines that attack without apparent reason. Most weapons don't work very well against their armour. Like I said earlier, the Monado is the only weapon that's effective on Mechon. The Battle of Sword Valley was when us Homs made our final stand against the Mechon forces. I was told Dunban used the Monado in a desperate attack that wiped out all the Mechon there. After that, he couldn't use his right arm.
[He frowns, hand going to his chin as he recalls the few times he's actually seen Dunban use the Monado.]
When Dunban uses the Monado, it puts a lot of strain on his body, causing pain and convulsions. It actually did the same thing before the Battle, but it's more noticeable now.
Does it strain you as well?
