[The screen flickers slightly before revealing a smiling young face, red eyes wide in wonder as she stares at the camera. The girl looks very excited, or at least eager to see what this device does. There's almost a sense of pride emanating from her - after all, being in a family of magi meant that they avoided contact with modern technology as much as possible. So getting this thing to work is quite the accomplishment, and she looks around for a few moments around the edge of the screen - checking things, probably - before looking back at the camera.

Unfortunately, she doesn't notice that it's upside down.]

Hello everyone! I'm Ilyasviel von Einzbern, but Ilya is fine. I'm new here, so I'm looking for someone to be my older brother!

[She smiles again. It's not in her intention to further explain what an older brother entails, since the best older brothers would already know what to do without her telling them. Ideally, the older brother would be someone who's actually older than her, but if they act and look older than her, that's fine too. All things considered, that really shouldn't be too hard...]

I guess a big sister would be okay too... but a big brother would be better. So, someone come play with me, okay?

[Her eyes wander off to the sides of the screen again. A few moments pass by as this continues, and the girl mutters a barely audible 'how do you turn this off?']

I have a little brother who might make a good big brother for you! I think you've already talked to him.

[ She scrolled through here, yep. ]

And if you want any more family, I wouldn't mind being a big sister to you.

[ ADOPTING EVERYBODY EVER. Like a boss. ]

Really? I've never had a big sister.

[Then again, the number of people she's met in her life is rather small to begin with, anyway. And she doesn't consider any of them as potential big sisters.]

What's your name?

[Ilya smiles. The fact that the other girl isn't accusatory or hostile is a big plus.]

Kohaku Hearts! It's nice to meet you! Ilya, right?

[ She's still smiling. ]

I'm sure my boyfriend would love to be an older brother to you, too. He's very sweet, I'm sure you would like him!

That's right! You got it on your first try. Most people here seem to struggle with it...

[Another point to Kohaku. This girl seems really nice! Although, if she has a boyfriend who's going to be an older brother, this family tree is going to be really complicated, isn't it?]

It's nice to meet you, Kohaku.

[She smiles again, not forgetting to be courteous. She has to make a good impression, and these manners have been a part of her growing up, anyway.]

Well, you did just say your name not too long ago! It's not that hard to say it with some guidance, right?

[ Bah, it's gonna be complicated anyway!! ]

Why are you looking for a big brother, out of curiosity?

Because big brothers are nice, and they take care of you! And since I'm new here, someone who can do that would be nice.

[Though it does seem like most of the people here are friendly, she's just met them. Trust is... a pretty big issue for her.

It's probably impossible to find somebody who would be her big brother without some work, first, but that's okay. During that time, she can decide whether she wants them or not.]

Haha! But big brothers can be a real pain in the bum sometimes!

[ she speaks from experience, Ilya. ]

Sometimes, they can be really overprotective, and not let you have any free will to make your own decisions with ... until you kick them hard enough for them to let you, anyway.

But big brothers really are nice. Mine is really nice, anyway. I really miss him.

[She doesn't know about pain in the bum, per se, but from her experience big brothers can be kind of stupid. Shirou, after all, is the epitome of stubborn... but Ilya can easily sympathize with a lot of what Kohaku is saying, since Shirou was like that to her at some point, too.

Although she didn't have to do any kicking. The whole Grail War issue tended to be enough to keep him from making her too angry.]

You have an older brother, Kohaku?

I do! His name is Hisui. He's not here, though.

[ She's already said she misses him, but she really misses him. And it might be obvious. ]

[From what Ilya can see and hear, Kohaku sounds sad. With good reason, too. She must be missing him for a long time now...]

Do you think that he'll be brought here too?

[Or maybe that's being too hopeful.]

That really depends on the coral, I think.

[ She's still smiling, despite obviously being sad that she hasn't seen her big brother in so long. ]

I'll see him again someday, though. And I've sort of gained a family here in this place, too. They don't replace Hisui at all, nor do they make up for the fact that he's not here ... but I love them all the same.

So... I'll see the people I miss someday, too?

[Ilya knows she shouldn't get too hopeful. There are some people who she isn't quite sure she wants to see again - rather, she wants to and doesn't at the same time...]

I think we all will see the people we miss someday! I don't know how or when it will happen, but I believe it will.

[ Kohaku is an optimist though. A lot of her boyfriend's optimism has rubbed off on her, in addition to what she already had to begin with. ]

[There's a slight pause. Ilya's own optimism was worn thin after years of waiting and being told that her father would never come back. He didn't, did he? She found out he's dead...]

I... I hope so.

[She doesn't really think so, but for some reason she can't do is bring herself to say that. So she simply agrees quietly.]

[ Kohaku's not sure how her own optimism is still there, to be honest. But it is. Somehow. ]

What all do you know about this place so far, Ilya?

Hmm... well, it's a separate dimension that no one has yet found a method of escaping.

[Although from her understanding, interdimensional travel is very, very difficult to manage even with the Second Magic...]

And there are strange events that happen every so often! But that's about it.

[ Well, that's certainly a way to say it. Kohaku nods. ]

Do you have any questions? I've been here for a little over a year, I might be able to give you some answers.

Mmm...

[To be honest, there isn't anything, but Ilya likes the conversation.]

Are there lots of people brought in here?

[It sort of seems like it, at least. And maybe this means there may be someone else she knows.]

[ She nods. ]

Yeah, a lot of people. New people seem to arrive at around the same time every month.

[Ilya nods too, taking in the information. This is most certainly a strange dimension.]

Oh! And the coral, what is it?

[Because apparently that's the source of all the happenings, too. If only she can figure out its nature and how it gathers all this energy to make all these mysteries happen... although since she's not a true magus, she's not sure how she could construct a spell to make use of that knowledge.]

Ah ... that's something that not a lot of people know. The coral seems to be the major source of a lot of things that go on around here, though. A lot of people say it's magic, and then there are others who say that scientists made it that way.

[ She shrugs. ]

I've heard a lot of things about the coral, but nothing is really definite.

[Ah, well. She wasn't expecting something definite anyway.]

So no one really knows, do they.

[Ilya sighs a little. There's no way of trying to use it to get back to Fuyuki now, is there? But a lot of people are here, and they're all somehow coping, and apparently people do go back...]

I guess that's all my questions... for now?

Unfortunately not ...

[ Kohaku's a bit troubled about that, herself, but ... who isn't? She sighs and offers a small smile. ]

All right. Don't be afraid to contact me if you need anything, okay?

[She nods. It's hard to stay encouraged, but...]

Okay. Thank you, Kohaku! I will.

[Ilya gives a wave, and then looks around the screen for a few moments before finding a button and giving it a push. The screen turns off.]
