[The screen flickers slightly before revealing a smiling young face, red eyes wide in wonder as she stares at the camera. The girl looks very excited, or at least eager to see what this device does. There's almost a sense of pride emanating from her - after all, being in a family of magi meant that they avoided contact with modern technology as much as possible. So getting this thing to work is quite the accomplishment, and she looks around for a few moments around the edge of the screen - checking things, probably - before looking back at the camera.

Unfortunately, she doesn't notice that it's upside down.]

Hello everyone! I'm Ilyasviel von Einzbern, but Ilya is fine. I'm new here, so I'm looking for someone to be my older brother!

[She smiles again. It's not in her intention to further explain what an older brother entails, since the best older brothers would already know what to do without her telling them. Ideally, the older brother would be someone who's actually older than her, but if they act and look older than her, that's fine too. All things considered, that really shouldn't be too hard...]

I guess a big sister would be okay too... but a big brother would be better. So, someone come play with me, okay?

[Her eyes wander off to the sides of the screen again. A few moments pass by as this continues, and the girl mutters a barely audible 'how do you turn this off?']

[It's at this moment that a shadow falls across the (seemingly) young child, originating from the stark silhouette rolling to a slow stop astride a skateboard, which, while being something one might expect of a hooligan, miraculously does little to fray the rider's dignity.

Golden eyes coolly regard her with almost feline luminosity.]

Excuse me.

[The young man bends, reaching with both hands for her SFC...

...Only to turn it right side up and return it to her grip, giving a sober, approving nod. A fingertip taps a particular part of its unique shape, and the young god with but three parallel white stripes circumnavigating only one side of his head of otherwise black hair continues:]

That's better. Do you see this? This part here turns it on and off.

[CRISIS AVERTED.

...no, it's only a crisis to Death the Kid.]

[She turns around in surprise as soon as she sees the shadow over her, her brief experience in battle telling her that this could be a dangerous situation. Greeted with the sight of a pair of golden eyes, Ilya is about to scream and shove away the intruder -

- but then he grabs her weirdly-shaped device and gives it a sharp turn, reorienting it.]

W-what was that? How could you just reach around a lady like that? And coming up from behind!

[Still, he has taught her something of use, and she has enough manners to give thanks where it's due. Noting where the boy with the strange hair had indicated, Ilya reaches over and flicks the switch. The device promptly makes a small beep, which she assumes means it's turned off.]

But... thank you.

[She even gives him a small curtsy. He's still not off the hook, though.]

I said "excuse me".

[This, so matter-of-fact, the intruder clearly feeling fully entitled to invading anyone else's personal space just because he said two words immediately preceding the act.]

You're quite welcome.

[And just like that, he considers himself let off the hook. What hook? It was never even there.]

I assume you arrived recently, but not so recently that you're still waterlogged, if you're so unfamiliar with the communicator. Have you received the brochure?

Why d'you want a big brother so bad anyway?

[The screen slowly rotates as Ilya looks at it, slightly confused by what the other person said. When it finally lands right side up, her face makes a slight look of surprise like she's finally figured it out, and then a small frown because her moment of feeling accomplished was now dashed.]

Because... because big brothers take care of little sisters! Isn't that obvious?

[She frowns. Admittedly, she has rather high standards for a big brother now, and even now she's not quite sure why she wants one, per se. Maybe just the thought of someone who actually cares about her.

But she's not going to say that out loud.]

[Should be, to some one who IS a big brother and spent much of his childhood looking after his own little brother, but for some reason it surprise Rin to hear some one state that they want a sibling.

Then again it's not like he's been around many people that weren't his immediate family until recently. Even a year in Vatheon hasn't clued him in to everything.]

Oh. Well. Yeah. I've got a little brother-- well, twin, but he's the younger one -- but I've never heard anyone say that before.
