I // [video]
[The screen flickers slightly before revealing a smiling young face, red eyes wide in wonder as she stares at the camera. The girl looks very excited, or at least eager to see what this device does. There's almost a sense of pride emanating from her - after all, being in a family of magi meant that they avoided contact with modern technology as much as possible. So getting this thing to work is quite the accomplishment, and she looks around for a few moments around the edge of the screen - checking things, probably - before looking back at the camera.
Unfortunately, she doesn't notice that it's upside down.]
Hello everyone! I'm Ilyasviel von Einzbern, but Ilya is fine. I'm new here, so I'm looking for someone to be my older brother!
[She smiles again. It's not in her intention to further explain what an older brother entails, since the best older brothers would already know what to do without her telling them. Ideally, the older brother would be someone who's actually older than her, but if they act and look older than her, that's fine too. All things considered, that really shouldn't be too hard...]
I guess a big sister would be okay too... but a big brother would be better. So, someone come play with me, okay?
[Her eyes wander off to the sides of the screen again. A few moments pass by as this continues, and the girl mutters a barely audible 'how do you turn this off?']

Golden eyes coolly regard her with almost feline luminosity.]
Excuse me.
[The young man bends, reaching with both hands for her SFC...
...Only to turn it right side up and return it to her grip, giving a sober, approving nod. A fingertip taps a particular part of its unique shape, and the young god with but three parallel white stripes circumnavigating only one side of his head of otherwise black hair continues:]
That's better. Do you see this? This part here turns it on and off.
[CRISIS AVERTED.
...no, it's only a crisis to Death the Kid.]
[action]
- but then he grabs her weirdly-shaped device and gives it a sharp turn, reorienting it.]
W-what was that? How could you just reach around a lady like that? And coming up from behind!
[Still, he has taught her something of use, and she has enough manners to give thanks where it's due. Noting where the boy with the strange hair had indicated, Ilya reaches over and flicks the switch. The device promptly makes a small beep, which she assumes means it's turned off.]
But... thank you.
[She even gives him a small curtsy. He's still not off the hook, though.]
[action]
[This, so matter-of-fact, the intruder clearly feeling fully entitled to invading anyone else's personal space just because he said two words immediately preceding the act.]
You're quite welcome.
[And just like that, he considers himself let off the hook. What hook? It was never even there.]
I assume you arrived recently, but not so recently that you're still waterlogged, if you're so unfamiliar with the communicator. Have you received the brochure?

video;
[Which means Rin probably looks upsidedown to her. Oops.]
Why d'you want a big brother so bad anyway?
Because... because big brothers take care of little sisters! Isn't that obvious?
[She frowns. Admittedly, she has rather high standards for a big brother now, and even now she's not quite sure why she wants one, per se. Maybe just the thought of someone who actually cares about her.
But she's not going to say that out loud.]
Then again it's not like he's been around many people that weren't his immediate family until recently. Even a year in Vatheon hasn't clued him in to everything.]
Oh. Well. Yeah. I've got a little brother-- well, twin, but he's the younger one -- but I've never heard anyone say that before.

Are you sure you should just ask any person to be your elder sibling? Not everyone is nice.
[voice]
[Ilya's fairly confident in her skills with that. Of course, she isn't expecting everybody in a group of strangers to be nice - wouldn't that be a little too idealistic?]

Uh, you might want to just flip your SFC a little.
...anyway. I'm not sure you understand how siblings work any more than you do that device, but what would you actually need one for?
Now, to his question...]
Well, they could help me out with everything! When I'm stuck on something or when I can't do something, they would be able to show me how.
[The list could go on, but Ilya stops before it sounds too much like an amalgamation of a teacher, a maid, a cook and a friend. Of course, most importantly would be the fact that the person would love her unconditionally...]

Ay-lee-ah. Ay-lee-ah. Ilya. [What the hell kind of name is that, it's so ludicrously foreign to him!!]
Allie.
I'mma call you Allie, okay?
Maybe you should get a towel and stuff first before goin' off and playing.
It's Ilya! Ee-lee-yah. You can't get something that easy wrong, right?
But... what do you mean, get a towel?

Einzbern? Are you really so lost you need a guide? I'm surprised.
[Ilya doesn't appreciate that condescending tone that the other person is taking with her. Only after she says her piece does she realize the familiarity with which she was addressed. Looking back at the screen, she can't believe what she sees - a younger but unmistakable image of one Tohsaka successor.]
Rin? What are you doing here?
[It then occurs to her that this could very well be a younger version of Rin herself, but Ilya says nothing of that... yet.
Just what else can that giant coral do?]

[ She scrolled through here, yep. ]
And if you want any more family, I wouldn't mind being a big sister to you.
[ ADOPTING EVERYBODY EVER. Like a boss. ]
[Then again, the number of people she's met in her life is rather small to begin with, anyway. And she doesn't consider any of them as potential big sisters.]
What's your name?
[Ilya smiles. The fact that the other girl isn't accusatory or hostile is a big plus.]

[ Shing pauses, tilting his head at the question -- as well as her name -- before he answers. ]
... how do you pronounce your name again? Ill-ee-yah?
Anyway.. I know a couple people I think of as siblings, and I don't think they're gonna mind!
[ Welp, guess he'll have to ask both Rin and Bianca about this later... ]
[ video ]
[A few moments pass by as the small girl rotates the screen around. There! Now everything's right-side-up.]
Yep! You got it right. Ilya. And what about you?
[Wow, it seems like everyone has siblings around here...]

He can feel a headache coming on.]
That's an interesting amount of enthusiasm for a little girl who was randomly abducted.

The world works in mysterious ways. It's not like I would rather be here, but I might as well enjoy whatever I can, right?
[It's a strange feeling. On the one hand, her not being back means she's liberated from being the vessel of the Grail, a fate she thought she was shackled to. On the other hand, the notion of leaving all those people behind to face the shadow on their own...
But she continues to smile. She just doesn't see a point in trying to burn herself out doing what everyone else thinks is impossible right now.]
