Selphie Wake Up!~

*Whoa, Selphie feels like she's been asleep for a long, long time. She's sitting up on her bed, surrounded by piles of plush toys. Blinking into her SFC, she does look kinda sleepy, but there's a touch of confusion there too. There's a clock in her room, but no calendar, so she has no idea that she's been in a coma for two weeks*

Good Morning Vatheon! I guess I was asleep...for a long time. Feels like the last time it happened.

What day is it? Did I miss anything?

You must not be a big tea drinker, then.

[Aya's still staring at the food, then starts to look at it from all angles.]

I'm starting to think we may need another mouth to help.

[booyaka_boom]

I like tea! Just not... the weird kind.

*She pushes forward her pot of black tea, opening it up as it to show how ordinary it is*

You wanna invite someone along?

*Selphie smiles, watching Aya's expression, wondering if they really would need help*

I'll have to bring some different teas for you to try, then. [Oh, Selphie. The wide world of tea is just at your toes!]

[Aya shakes his head no.] Lets see how we fair first.

[booyaka_boom]

Some nice ones? Well, if you can find anything that you think that I'll like then maybe maybe I'll give it a try.

*Selphie smiles, then picks up her fork like she's getting a weapon ready*

Alright, Aya! Let's do this!

*And she scoops a huge amount onto her fork and, somehow, manages to eats it all*

[Unlike Selphie, when Aya digs into the food, he takes small portions at a time. The combination of fruit and chocolate is surprisingly good. He goes back for more portions about three times before feeling pretty full. It doesn't help that watching Selphie eat makes him feel extra full.]

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie eventually slows down, watching Aya taking his tiny portions*

We-ell...whaddaya think? The best breakfast ever, or what?

*She grins, and doesn't seem to have a problem about taking yet more large mouthfuls of waffle. After all, this is a girl who's been in a coma and hasn't eaten in two whole weeks*

[It's a good thing none of the food will go to waste.]

It's good. Not something I'd eat too often.

[booyaka_boom]

*She pauses again to lick her lips, watching Aya carefully like there was something weird going on - and there is: she just can't understand the concept of someone not wanting to eat sweet stuff like this all the time*

I'm glad you like it, at least.

*Smiling, Selphie swallows what is her last mouthful and puts down her fork. There's still plenty left on the plate, but even sweet-tooth Selphie gets full*

Usually something like this wouldn't be breakfast back home.

[Aya notices something and points over to Selphie's face.]You have a bit of chocolate over there...

[booyaka_boom]

Really? What kinda thing would you have instead?

*Uh oh, Selphie looks both confused and embarrassed - she starts wiping her fingers all over her face, somehow missing it*

Huh? Where?

[formerabyssinian]

Rice, fish, soup, and tea. Sometimes eggs.

[With Selphie touching everywhere but that spot, it takes Aya all his will not to laugh.]

Give me your finger.

[booyaka_boom]

What? Rice and fish and soup for breakfast? Then what do you have for lunch - porridge?

*Really, Aya, Selphie just thinks you're being silly now*

*She's also gone pretty much cross-eyed trying to find it, but she gives up, and holds up her index finger, holding it out to him*

You better not be just making fun of me...

No. Usually something fast and fried. [Not his thing, but it's true. Ew porridge.] I'm not even sure porridge is popular to eat if you're not five and under.

I'm not. I wouldn't do that to you just yet. [He guides her finger to her chin, right on top of the chocolate smudge.] Right here.

[booyaka_boom]

Fried? Aya... what kinda planet are you from anyway? *This place was full of weird people with weird customs, to be fair*
Porridge is gross, I do have to agree. They used to make us eat it at the orphanage. *She pulls a face, remembering that five and under time*

Just yet...? *Again, she crosses her eyes to take a look. Selphie still can't see it, but as she takes her finger away from her chin she sees the chocolate and grins* Thanks!

You've never...had fried foods? [Huuuuh?]

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie raises a brow and shakes her head*

Not for breakfast, silly.

*And she promptly licks the chocolate from her finger*

I didn't say it was for breakfast. [That reassures him. To think she never heard of fried foods would make him worry.]

[booyaka_boom]

Oh! That makes sense.

*Selphie watches Aya as she takes a long sip of her tea, then glances away, looking a little sheepish. She had certainly embarrassed herself over breakfast, what with the cat thing and then the chocolate on her face, and him having to hold her hand*

Although, to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up on the breakfast plate. [Tempura is pretty good.]

[He takes a sip of his tea and hums in approval. He looks to Selphie with a wry smile.] Are you sure you don't want to try some?

[booyaka_boom]

I guess...I'd eat fried pancakes!

*She turns back to him and smiles, putting down her own cup so that she can lean across the table to look in his*

Hmmm...maybe. It does smell pretty good!

[formerabyssinian]

That sounds more like an American sort of food than Japanese.

[He offers his cup for her to look in, as if slowly inviting a kitten over for milk.]

It's well made, which I wasn't expecting.

[booyaka_boom]

Yeah.. I guess it is?

*Though Selphie was trying to think if she knows any Americans. But just like a kitten she's concentrating on one curious thing. She looks up at Aya and smiles before looking back down at his tea*

You sure you don't mind if I try some?

*One hand tentatively reaching for the cup*

Why would I not be sure? [He refills the cup a bit with warmer tea.]

*She gratefully takes the cup with a little nod of her head, sitting back comfortably. She takes a deep breath, like she's about to take a real risk then, slowly but surely, sips the tea. At first she grimaces slightly, but then a small smile appears on her face*

Huh...

[formerabyssinian]

[Now it's Aya's turn to watch Selphie drink the tea. Her first reaction makes him worry, but he's on the fence about the second.]
