who knows what number.
[The video feed cuts on. Jack is as always sitting in front of that blasted piano of his, it's like he never gets away from it! But this is different than most of the other times he sit's in front of the thing. He isn't even playing it.
He just wants to talk. It's hard to determine whether he's actually upset or not.]
I hardly remember this time last year. I just know it will be Valentine's day without Alice around. I don't mean to sound bitter if I do.
But I must know, what do people do on Valentine's day other than spend it with someone they love? I was told it was called "being single". I'm not really sure...
[[Private to Canada.]]
Are you still around? It just dawned on me that we never went for lunch. I feel like an awful friend.

A year is really quite the stretch of time to be stuck somewhere, isn't it? Ah, but if you're missing your lover, perhaps you should celebrate it as you are now— single, of course! The lack of co-dependency tying you down can't possibly be a bad thing.
[ AS DOUCHEY AS THAT SOUNDS he's actually pretty serious— for instance, it's better for him if neither of the rainsworth women were present here, even if he would appreciate their company. ]
Did you like Miss Alice, Mister Jack?
video
It's really not necessarily a bad thing. It was bad at first, her and I were always together. Seeing as we lived together.
[Jack is cool with your doucheyness, he doesn't seem to care. Women are so fickle..]
Perhaps I did, perhaps we became more than just friends during the time she was here. No one ever really..knew.
video
of course, there's still something he needs a little clarification on— ]
... Which Alice?
video
She had brown hair, it was the Alice I knew. Not the other one.
video
... The chain? [ said in a very particular sort of inquisitory fashion— as though to make sure he'd heard that right. ]
video; who sucks at tags, me.
[It was certainly Oz's Alice they were speaking of. The chain was whom he had given renewed affection for. They hadn't spent most of their time together the last week or two she had been around.
Jack regrets that, and other things among that. How would Break understand something like this? The story twists into something very complicated.]
video; it's okay i do too...
... Why?
[ what is this madness. ]
video; sob and im sorry my tags have been so lazy. im usually not this bad at jack.
Jack has very little relationship knowledge, only that he "hit on" girls and such things as that. Alice had never really been his "girlfriend"- and if she was it was unclear and for a very short time.
That question and many others regarding Alice would...really...take a long time to explain. Break, why do you do this to him.]
Simple, Mister Xerxes. My heart was in love with her. Chain or not, she was something special to me. [This question had a ton of answers. But. He wont get into that right now.]
video; shhhh it is o k a y you're fine!! ♥
Of course. You do realize though that a chain is by all means not a human being, and furthermore cannot even remain outside of the Abyss without a contract, correct? [ there's a slight pause, and then he adds— ]
Occasionally it can do a great deal of good to properly reign in one's heart, Mister Hero— for more than just a single person, I might add.
video; a h h h h h h ♥
[He laughs. There was a lot of nervous laughing here. He isn't a hero, why would you say that to him. It makes him feel like the most awful person in the world.] I'm not hero. Just Jack, just..Jack.
[Sigh.] Oz was here at one time. Oz was her contractor. However, she started staying with me after he disappeared the second time.
video;
Oh? You're most certainly recognized as one— you did a great thing, after all! [ break reaches into his sleeve only to remove a piece of wrapped candy from it, removing the wrapping as he continues speaking— ]
Oh my, was Oz here as well? How curious. [ —he begins counting on the same fingers he's currently opening that candy with. that makes...what? lotti—whom he'd actually conversed with before she had so mysteriously disapeared—, oz, alice... well then! a little odd for alice to remain after oz left, but he can duly recognize that this world's particular...rules...are a bit special. ]
Am I correct in assuming that both you and the rabbit opened up to one another thereafter?
video;
A great thing? What I did was nothing short of a crime, really. I don't care how people view it, my personal view is that I did something wrong. [if this jack were canon updated, then he would understand so much more, probably. he didn't want to think about this any longer, did he? he always shoved this right out of his mind.
as did break, it seems. since he just flipped subjects on him once again.]
No. We did not. Unless you would like to count our closeness as a "contract", then we most certainly did not. There is not a mark on me from a contract. [to his own knowledge, all he had was the tattoo from Vatheon on his neck. that was all the markings he could remember himself having. unless he was blocking out some crazy memory, unlikely, or was it?]
Why would we need a contract, to have a courtship, Hatter? [come at him bro. tell him why.]
[video]
[This concept, it blows his mind. He's used to just drowning in and throwing out a lot of chocolate girls thrust upon him...]
[video]
[He grinned. Then shrugged.] But I don't know otherwise...
[video]
This place seems to have something planned for every holiday, huh?
[video]
Perhaps you may be normal too?
video
video
[He has delved into the world of Ice Cream and such. It sounds good!]
....Movies?
video
Um. They're sort of like plays, but electronically recorded -- like our videos on the SFC are.
video; oh gosh im sorry this is late.
[his curiosity is endless!]
video; you are fine!
[She knits her brows, expression curious.]
They have them in the shops here, I think. I could show you, if you want.
video; man i hope so.
video;
[video]
...there is another one of those odd Holidays? How many blooming things are there?
[video]
[He smiles.] I just go along with what the bubble does, and how it changes time and time again.
Re: [video]
I think Easter is the one I haven't come cross yet. Have any ideas of what that might entail?
[video] lalala pretending im good at tags.
[Scratching his head.] I can see if I can obtain some information on this Holiday?
//private - unhackable etc.
You haven't quite gotten rid of me yet. [A light laugh accompanied his words to let Jack know it was one of those odd little jokes.] You're not an awful friend, either. I'm simply the one who forgot. I got sidetracked by thinking about planning a garden.
For Valentine's day I usually don't do much at all as it's generally just another day for me. This year I told N that I would spend some time with him but I can spend some time with you as well.
//private - unhackable etc.
Well, why didn't we plan the garden together Matthew? You know I have a thing for gardening, well, a rose gardens anyways.
We can watch a movie...whatever that is,
//private - unhackable etc.
We can do that still. I haven't planned very much at all, aside from 'I think I'll do a garden this year.' [Really, he was the best planner ever when it came to that. ...and he got sidetracked by looking at flower bulbs again and consider which ones he wanted to plant in yards at night again this year.] I think a rose garden would be quite lovely to have.
[though he does perk up even more at the suggestion of a movie.] I'll make some popcorn for us. I'm sure there's quite the variety of movies around here. They were just starting to become more and more popular back home. They're like plays, except you watch them on a screen and no actors are present. Instead, everything has been recorded. Sort of like the videos on the communicator, except for it isn't live. It was done ahead of time.
//private - unhackable etc. im great at tags, okay?
Then I can certainly think of a few things for us to do in the meantime, while that garden of yours grows. [Jack is sly.] We could always plan vegetable gardens too, or maybe even get back to teaching you how to play piano....I did get sidetracked from that..
[Jack lights up.] I've never...watched a movie in my entire life! They sound so very intriguing. I think I would enjoy that.
//private - unhackable etc. you're the best~ <333.
...for just a moment, there was a hint of a blush at that.] I'd love to learn more, too. Perhaps with enough practice, I'll be a bit less of a flop playing. [A soft chuckle accompanied his words.]
We'll have so much fun watching movies. We can choose several different kinds. There's everything from action and adventure to scary, funny, sad, and anything else you can imagine.
//private - unhackable
He chuckled.] We'll get you smooth playing. All of that floppy armed playing will be right out of you!
[He nods...]
Let us choose fantastic movies!
//private - unhackable
Do you promise? [He was grinning widely at that.] And maybe I'll even remember where to properly place my fingers instead of being off by a key.
[Poor Jack probably has no idea what sorts of things Canada will unleash on him with movies.] Let's do a wide variety and include as many different kinds as we can.
//private - unhackable
I promise. [He is giggling.] We'll fix your hands. That is such a silly problem!
That sounds like it will be a lot of fun.
//private - unhackable
I can't wait. [He was so excited for it, too.]
I think we will. We'll have so much fun it should be illegal.
//private - unhackable
[Oh no, rule breaking is bad Canada!!]
//private - unhackable
It's actually just a phrase I picked up. We won't actually be doing anything illegal. Well, hopefully not but sometimes it can happen... [He's pretty sure it's illegal somewhere to dig up other people's yards and plant flowers for them, but they can do that later.]
//private - unhackable
[They are definitely rebels.]
//private - unhackable
[Vatheon clearly needs to watch out. Jack and Canada are the rebelest of rebels.]
