[The video feed cuts on. Jack is as always sitting in front of that blasted piano of his, it's like he never gets away from it! But this is different than most of the other times he sit's in front of the thing. He isn't even playing it.

He just wants to talk. It's hard to determine whether he's actually upset or not.]

I hardly remember this time last year. I just know it will be Valentine's day without Alice around. I don't mean to sound bitter if I do.

But I must know, what do people do on Valentine's day other than spend it with someone they love? I was told it was called "being single". I'm not really sure...

Are you still around? It just dawned on me that we never went for lunch. I feel like an awful friend.

I don't usually do much for Valentine's day. Sometimes I go to the bar or to a party.

That sounds like a lot of fun. Does it take your mind off of things?

Ah, well, I'm not usually upset. I've never been in love after all.

I guess I can say I'm not necessarily upset. Just, looking for something to do.

This is how I view it, bropunzel. It's just a day. It happens to be a holiday too but just because it's also a holiday, you don't need to celebrate it if you have no one to celebrate it with. So what do you do every day?

I garden, I play piano. Just..normal stuff when we're not under some siege or being dragged up to funny islands.

It seems so not normal, as if I should be doing the other thing.

A year is really quite the stretch of time to be stuck somewhere, isn't it? Ah, but if you're missing your lover, perhaps you should celebrate it as you are now— single, of course! The lack of co-dependency tying you down can't possibly be a bad thing.

It's really not necessarily a bad thing. It was bad at first, her and I were always together. Seeing as we lived together.

Yes, the chain. She admitted that to me before she was taken from this place.

[It was certainly Oz's Alice they were speaking of. The chain was whom he had given renewed affection for. They hadn't spent most of their time together the last week or two she had been around.

Jack regrets that, and other things among that. How would Break understand something like this? The story twists into something very complicated.]

[Why wouldn't sh be weird around things regarding Jack? She was weird with him until they got close, and that was when things started to clear up for them. Jack admitted to do some of the things from his past, and Alice admitted to being a chain.

Jack has very little relationship knowledge, only that he "hit on" girls and such things as that. Alice had never really been his "girlfriend"- and if she was it was unclear and for a very short time.

That question and many others regarding Alice would...really...take a long time to explain. Break, why do you do this to him.]

This place seems to have something planned for every holiday, huh?

Well, I'm not so sure about this year. Perhaps we'll have another ball. Which I will not attend this year unfortunately. I have yet agreed to spend time with a good friend of mine, so I suppose normal will become my Valentone's day.

Usually? Single-people complain about how stupid and corporate Valentine's Day is and then go home and eat a pint of chocolate ice cream. [She sounds amused, though, not bitter.] That's what I get from movies, at least.

...there is another one of those odd Holidays? How many blooming things are there?

Well...there's Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's day, Easter...all of them seem to be western holidays! But not even i really know much about them!

[He smiles.] I just go along with what the bubble does, and how it changes time and time again.

I think Easter is the one I haven't come cross yet. Have any ideas of what that might entail?

Not at all. Just hear a lot of people talking about it.

[Scratching his head.] I can see if I can obtain some information on this Holiday?

[Does he need to come over and let himself in so he can hug Jack? Because he will. ...and then he'll apologise for so freely letting himself in, but do so in a polite manner and all.]

For Valentine's day I usually don't do much at all as it's generally just another day for me. This year I told N that I would spend some time with him but I can spend some time with you as well.

[Yes please, feel free to let yourself in. He misses you Canada. They've always been pretty close and his house has been pretty empty. He chuckles when Canada begins talking. Yes- he would never quite rid himself of Canada and for that he was extremely pleased.]

Well, why didn't we plan the garden together Matthew? You know I have a thing for gardening, well, a rose gardens anyways.

We can watch a movie...whatever that is,

[One day Jack'll wake up and find Canada either in the kitchen cooking or sleeping on the couch.]

We can do that still. I haven't planned very much at all, aside from 'I think I'll do a garden this year.' [Really, he was the best planner ever when it came to that. ...and he got sidetracked by looking at flower bulbs again and consider which ones he wanted to plant in yards at night again this year.] I think a rose garden would be quite lovely to have.

[though he does perk up even more at the suggestion of a movie.] I'll make some popcorn for us. I'm sure there's quite the variety of movies around here. They were just starting to become more and more popular back home. They're like plays, except you watch them on a screen and no actors are present. Instead, everything has been recorded. Sort of like the videos on the communicator, except for it isn't live. It was done ahead of time.

[Well why isn't he already in the kitchen doing those things, or sleeping on his couch? Why isn't Matthew still living with him. He has this whole damn house to himself.]

Then I can certainly think of a few things for us to do in the meantime, while that garden of yours grows. [Jack is sly.] We could always plan vegetable gardens too, or maybe even get back to teaching you how to play piano....I did get sidetracked from that..

[Jack lights up.] I've never...watched a movie in my entire life! They sound so very intriguing. I think I would enjoy that.

[Because he's still far too polite than to just show up unannounced and sometimes feels bad checking for unlocked doors. Then again... Jack should be careful. He really might just move himself back in.

...for just a moment, there was a hint of a blush at that.] I'd love to learn more, too. Perhaps with enough practice, I'll be a bit less of a flop playing. [A soft chuckle accompanied his words.]

We'll have so much fun watching movies. We can choose several different kinds. There's everything from action and adventure to scary, funny, sad, and anything else you can imagine.

[Jack wouldn't mind. Has he ever minded when Canada came back into his household? No? Well, he never does. He just hates to see him keep on leaving.

He chuckled.] We'll get you smooth playing. All of that floppy armed playing will be right out of you!

[He nods...]

Let us choose fantastic movies!

[One of these times Canada's going to just stay put and stop leaving. He's sure Gilbert might even enjoy inheriting a nice apartment all to himself, too. ...if he was to be completely honest with himself, he always did regret moving out. He enjoyed living with Jack far more than he ever really admitted to himself.]

Do you promise? [He was grinning widely at that.] And maybe I'll even remember where to properly place my fingers instead of being off by a key.

[Poor Jack probably has no idea what sorts of things Canada will unleash on him with movies.] Let's do a wide variety and include as many different kinds as we can.

[Perhaps they can discuss that over tea. Jack would appreciate it if he had a constant roomie. Which, he has none at the moment so his home is basically empty. He's all alone...]

I promise. [He is giggling.] We'll fix your hands. That is such a silly problem!

That sounds like it will be a lot of fun.

[If Jack's not careful, Canada might hug him and not let go for a while, too.]

I can't wait. [He was so excited for it, too.]

I think we will. We'll have so much fun it should be illegal.

...Illegal!?

[Oh no, rule breaking is bad Canada!!]

Definitely. [Never. Canada is such a rebel, always breaking the rules and making his own.]

It's actually just a phrase I picked up. We won't actually be doing anything illegal. Well, hopefully not but sometimes it can happen... [He's pretty sure it's illegal somewhere to dig up other people's yards and plant flowers for them, but they can do that later.]

I mean, I suppose we could do illegal things, if we really wanted to. There isn't once ounce of police force here. Otherwise we totally wouldn't have to run and defend ourselves everytime we get attacked.

[They are definitely rebels.]

I don't think I'd be suited for any of the harder crimes like stealing from someone else. Since that's about the only way one can steal around here. Or by breaking and entering. Then again, I don't think it counts if you do it to a friend unless you do it in a mean spirited manner for wrong reasons.

[Vatheon clearly needs to watch out. Jack and Canada are the rebelest of rebels.]
