Now- [He starts to walk and despite what he said before, at a slow, comfortable pace.]

It has been several weeks now, yes.

[She looks up at him as they walk, gaze flicking over his face with barely concealed curiosity. Lightly, she pats his arm with her free hand.]

I might have approached you sooner, but I was unsure of how to do so. Were it not for your descendent, I would not have known that you were here for some time.

[His eyes are on the woods ahead of them right now, trying to keep a calm attitude.]

Heh, I'm a flighty bastard, yeah. I can be hard to track down on foot. I think I am really glad you finally spoke to me though. [Flashes her a small smile.]

That reminds me, have you spoken to your descendant yet?

[She returns the smile, then nods.]

Kanaya... Yes, I have. She is a wonderful young troll. We have spoken several times now. It is strange, the kind of connection I feel with her, despite how many sweeps there are between us.

Heh yeah I uh, feel about the same. Few people have said it here, that Tavros and I aren't much alike but- [His brows furrow, a small smile on his face.] I think I see more similarities everytime I'm with the kid.

[Her fingers close around his arm and squeeze softly.]

He favours you, I think. I said as much when I saw him. He was very pleased with the comparison.

He's down on himself a lot I think, but, I was too around his age, the nymphs here are still pretty young after all.

You? Truly? [She doesn't sound like she believes him, but she might be teasing.]

I cannot picture such a thing.

Oh yeah me! I know, it's really hard to believe with the troll you see before you now. [A coy smile, leaning in a little and tightening his arm.]

As charming, and dashing, and confident as I am. But hell, I even uh, heh, used to have a pretty stubborn stutter.

[He knows she's joking but- it's nice. It's lighter than a majority of his conversations seem to be lately...]

[She chuckles, gently bumping her shoulder against his. It's so pleasant to find such easy conversation with someone who had been almost a stranger before.]

Some might find such a thing endearing.

[Her nose wrinkles as she smiles.]

I am sure that Tavros will gain much from spending time with you.

[Well, he has that ability. He's had to gain the respect and companionship of many troll and beast alike back home.]

Endearing? I- guess. It's always cute on other people. [Smiles.] Like Sparky's lisp. May not talk to him much anymore, but when I did was his voice cute.

You think? I hope so- The kid needs good role models, all of them do in some respect.

[She nods solemnly, thinking of Kanaya for a moment, but they quickly shift elsewhere.]

Speaking of which.. The Grand Highblood.. does he have much association with the youngster named Gamzee Makara?

[Not that he seems the type to take an interest in one so relatively harmless as Gamzee, but one never knew.. She wouldn't trust any troll around him, even one of his own caste.]

Ahh, an association yeah, but the kid hardly wants to see the guy let alone live up to any type of relationship we've been doing with our descendants. [A small sigh.] Like Tavros is to myself, and Kanaya to you, Gamzee's the same to him. I can believe it in appearance, but taking sopor like he has for so long, it's changed the kid. Not like any indigo I know.

[And he's not sure if it's for better or worse but- Gamzee wants to, and he's aware of what it does for the most part. So it's all right, right? Still doesn't feel right though.]

[She nods once. As sad as it was to think of given the relationships that she and Summoner had with their own descendants, she wouldn't like to have to deal with two trolls like the Grand Highblood. Just one is enough.

Sopor, though.. surely there had to be a better way to control his impulses.]

He is.. unusual. Friendly. Not what I would expect of an indigo. Though I would not say that he does not bear watching.

[The Grand Highblood is actually being rather controlled right now, and it's with sopor too! Just not directly. Apparently the high motherfucker hates the feel of being high, so he plays good in order to not be shot up with it. Pretty handy.]

Yeah, I think he'll be fine, he's got a lot of eyes on him, lot of people that care about him. Even if he stepped outta line, things would turn out all right in the end for him. [Gives her a reassuring smile and nod.]

It's pretty amazing what friendship can do.

[Either way, he's controlled, and that's a good thing. She smiles in return.]

It is. I will trust your judgement in this matter.

Don't trust me too much now. [A wide smile, leaning his face in closer to her.]

Give me too much wiggle room and who knows what I'll do.

[She leans to him, smiling in return.]

That sounds as if you are putting a challenge to me, Summoner. What will you do?

Well, I dunno. [Still sly, giving her a side glance.]

But you seem like too smart of a girl to get mixed up with a fly-away guy like myself.

That, I am not so sure of.

[Dolorosa, your pre-Scratch self is showing. She gives his arm a squeeze.]

But perhaps we should just be friends, mm? You are happy with your quadrants and my interests lie elsewhere.

[Let no one say that jadebloods can't tease.]

Ah ha- [A smile, furrowing his brows and giving her a nod. He tightens his arm a little.]

Very true, I think it'll be uh, best for the both of us. We'll just have to try and hold ourselves back.

[She chuckles, shooting a fond smile at him. It's a pity she waited so long to get in touch, she's finding she quite likes this troll already.]

But, tell me. What is it that you do here to occupy yourself?

[The Dolorosa would probably never be someone he didn't like, especially with her connection to Signless. And hell, he's such a chump when it comes to meeting any of that group.]

Ahh... Stuff, I dunno, it's hard to keep up with my interests in this uh, kind of place. Most of it's spent talking to animals in commune, hell, doing that now even, heh.

['Stuff'. Such eloquence. She smiles again, and it occurs to her how much she's smiling in his company. What a pity they hadn't met sooner, but at least now they had. She can always use more friends like this.]

You are? It always fascinated me, that ability.. Is it difficult to master?

I never had a problem. [A light chuckle, furrowing his brows.] Not that you're company's fantastic, but I used to only well, commune, for any type a contact. So I guess I never noticed it being anything more than natural.
