[Because this isn't a horrible idea of anything considering who resides among his audience here but- he's just not one to wallow for too long and eventually evens out. Not that we won't fly away from the problem quickly or anything. Either way, he's in a good mood.]

[If that leads to an opening, he taking it, striking his blade at Dirk's side, at the same time opening up his wings a little, giving some lift to his pounce forward.]

[It does lead to an opening, and Dirk is forced to move back yet again, just barely avoiding getting cut on Summoner's sword. This time, he keeps up the retreat until there's a few feet of space between them, enough for him to resettle his feet and get his sword at the ready. He's on the defensive, now.]

[Oh all right, he can go on the defensive then, sure. Summoner's piercing strike comes up short from Dirk moving back, but he continues to move forward with him, making another swipe at Dirk's side with his blade, following with a second if the first is blocked or dodged.]

[This time, the swipes are both blocked. Without Summoner trying to lock swords and really use his larger body to his advantage, Dirk can keep up his solid defense. He doesn't give up any more ground, and when Summoner's second blow is avoided, he makes a counterstrike of his own, toward Summoner's shoulder.]

[There's a quick dodge, getting close to the ground as Dirk strikes for his shoulder, and he turns, moving to be more at Dirk's side, swing his blade down and up to attack at his lower left hip.]

[Only now does Dirk actually flashstep. He doesn't do it yet to move around behind Summoner and attack, he only flashsteps enough to get out of the way of the blade, since it's an awkward position to dodge or to block.]

[Ah, there ya go, wasn't expecting that!]

[Summoner's blade misses, misses rather badly as well, and he's left a little unbalanced before finding his footing again and turning to face Dirk where ever he is. His hand holds up the blade in a defensive position as he move, keeping his wings in close.]
