12 ⊙ dream | Rising Sun, 1908

[fulmination]

<sub>[If anyone were to wander into this particular dream, they would be greeted by what appears to be a desert town. While it may have been pristine and exotic in the past, now it resembled a battlefield. Many of the buildings that once stood proud in the city were now in varying degrees of ruin, and quite a few streets left much to be desired. Not only that, but there were the bodies. If they were to explore, they'd come across a number of them--maybe it was a small handful, maybe there were dozens but regardless of the number it's obvious that there's a higher goal in mind than quashing a rebellion.

Soon enough, a relatively clear street comes into view with a small group of Ishvalans below staring up at something--no, someone. Closer inspection reveals that it's not just anyone--most Amestrians wouldn't be running around with half of their uniform off, let alone standing where a sniper could easily pick him off. At first it seems like Kimblee will walk away--surely he would what with being outnumbered, right? ...No. He's moving. Is he going to surrender? ...Not likely.]</sub>

A soldier--?

A transmutation circle... A State Alchemist?!"

<sub>[Bingo.

There's a glint of red in the sunlight as he places something between his teeth, then he's clapping his hands together to create a brilliant crackle of red light that trails down the side of the building and into the streets beneath their feet.




And then everything explodes with a deafening roar. Rubble flies and smoke billows out between the buildings and... Oh dear. All of that just with one shot.

It's silent for a few seconds, and then a maddening shriek comes from Kimblee as he dissolves into laughter, his arms outstretched before the ruined street.]</sub>

WONDERFUL! It's magnificent! This Philosopher's Stone--! <sub>[Kimblee no what are you

Kimblee. Kimblee don't flop down on your back.

Kimblee. Get up.

Stop cackling like a madman where someone can easily see you. Stop it.


...Then Kimblee jerks out of his sleep far too soon for his liking.. He makes a small hum as he turns over to stare up at the ceiling with a bit of a disappointed look. It always ends just as things start to get good.]

_{[He's pretty much fine with that. He'll even take it a step forward and wrap his arms around Vani's back, careful to avoid the injury.]}

It wouldn't do you any good to show off all of your tricks now, would it? _{[A beat.]} Though I wouldn't mind seeing a few more.

It doesn't hurt. Especially coming from you.

[Leaning into the other.]

Careful. I might start getting bold again. [Flashing a smirk but not moving away. He liked this a lot more than he cares to admit.]

[fulmination]

If you tease the dog you might get bit.

<sub>[After a few moments, Kimblee reluctantly allows his guard to lower by a fraction. There was an odd sense of safety with Vanitas nearby.

Odd, but welcome.]</sub>

I think you're just trying to get an answer out of me before I've made my mind up for certain.

[halfhearted]

[He will tilt his head to the side to expose his neck.]

Bite away. [He doesn't think Kimblee would actually take him up on it.]

You're the one who wants me to share my thoughts. [Bumping his forehead against the alchemist's shoulder.] Just letting you know the temptation is there. [And he wants to know if it would be any different with Kimblee being the bigger one now.]

[fulmination]

<sub>[He really shouldn't.

He really, really shouldn't, but it'd be worth it to see the look on his face--that's one of the major decision factors that gets him to lean down in order to bite at Vanitas' neck.]</sub>

He'll grip his top tighter as he felt that mouth. That wasn't a gasp you heard under his breath. Whatever were you imagining, Kimblee?

He did ask for it, but he still looked startled for a moment.

Give him a moment while his brain reboots, but in the mean time, he will just lean against him again.

Seriously, what?

Slowly he will let go to slide his hand to Kimblee's back.]

I would rather show you.

[fulmination]

<sub>[He's being an obnoxious jerk, that's what.

He stores away the noise Vanitas makes for later blackmail, but he doesn't say anything about it.

What he does do is press a small kiss to his eyebrow.

...This was actually nice. To hell with the rest of the world.]</sub>

Actions do speak louder, don't they?

[Vanitas was the one who was supposed to hold the obnoxious jerk title!

And he still has another photo to share with Kimblee, so go ahead and try.

They could afford to be distracted for a moment if getting distracted doesn't screw with being to pick up on company. Good way to figure it out though.

After another moment he will put his hand on the back of Kimblee's neck. Tip toeing to steal a kiss against his mouth. Is this enough action?]

[fulmination]

<sub>[At first Kimblee doesn't react beyond raising an eyebrow.

Then slowly, he grabs the front of his shirt and hefts him up a bit to return it with a bit more force.

Definitely enough action. Bye bye dignity.]</sub>

[He had some dignity left?

Normally this would be when Vanitas would end it to flee, but whoops. A week of being cut off. Maybe he did become addicted. He'll grumble about this later and blame Kimblee since it was his dream.

Sliding his hand through his hair as he continued the kiss. What was that again about being on a battlefield?]

[fulmination]

<sub>[Just a pinch.

Something-something or another. Besides, it just made things all that more exciting! Like other things, this hadn't crossed his mind in the past, but this was something he could work with and even appreciate--maybe it was something about the potential danger.

He's almost reluctant to take it further, but when Vanitas starts to mess with his hair he goes on with it and sharply nips at his bottom lip.]</sub>

[And then they both get shot. W h o o p s]

[He can't play with his hair because it's in a ponytail and the other would fuss. Not worth it this time. He can massage the back of Kimblee's head. Returning the nip with one of his own before he broke the kiss. Pressing another one against the corner of Kimblee's mouth.

Pressing his forehead against Kimblee's shoulder as he tried to calm his breathing and heart beat. Shortness of breath and a fast heart beat definitely sounded like symptoms for something bad.

Moving both of his hands down the alchemist's back to work on some of the knots. Dream knots? Vanitas was keeping quiet for once though.]

[fulmination]

_{[Kimblee laughs softly when he breaks it off and moves his head a bit to bury his nose into his hair. Really, what on earth was he going to do with you, Vanitas?]}

Am I forgiven yet?

_{[He doesn't even try to hide the content sound he makes when the other starts to work on his back.]}

[halfhearted]

[Was he really asking that?

Pffft.]

I'll think about it. [Kissing for making up, huh?]

You really like my hair. [He seems to be touching it in some way as often as he gets the excuse to.]

[fulmination]

I could always avoid touching you if you have a problem with it.

_{[A beat.]}

But I think I've avoided you enough for awhile the way it is. _{[He tilts his head to rest his cheek on top of his head.]} ...I am genuinely sorry that I upset you.

[halfhearted]

I didn't say that I did have a problem.

[And he wasn't upset, gosh. There was something about his words that kept Vanitas from denying it. He'll just sigh before rubbing his face against him.

He couldn't confirm anything either. This stuff was difficult.

Vanitas decided to just show Kimblee by actually giving him a hug with both arms. Was that enough?]

[fulmination]

_{[Kimblee offers a faint smile and returns it, even going so far as to give his shoulders a squeeze.]}

I'll take that as an apology accepted. ...I'll even go a step further and make a deal with you; I'll take you out anywhere you'd like to go.

[halfhearted]

[This was getting dumb pretty quickly.

Is he bartering to be sure he's forgiven?] When?

[He'll think about the where in a bit. Loosening his hold again since full contact while awake and not a cat wasn't possible for a prolonged time still. One hand will return to his side, while the other rubbed circles in Kimblee's lower back.]

[fulmination]

<sub>[Pretty much.

That and he doesn't mind spoiling Vanitas from time to time.]</sub>

_{[He sways Vanitas side to side for a few moments, keeping an eye out for any interruptions. So far so good!]}

I won't always be so easy to bribe you know.

[He will think about it before raising a brow at the swaying.]

Movies or paint ball? [Vanitas will arrange Kimblee's hands to put one on his hip and the other he'll hold. Vanitas will then wrap his arm loosely around his waist as he tilted his head. This was better for dance-swaying, right?]

[fulmination]

Who said I was bribing? _{[He pauses to consider the options.]} Paint ball couldn't hurt.

_{[When Vanitas starts to rearrange his hands, the alchemist leads him further into the street and starts to hum a slow waltz. It's not quite the place for this, but where's the fun in playing things safe?]}

Remind me to do this when we're awake.

[halfhearted]

[He was trying to make it up to him though. Same thing to Vanitas. Though he'll look amused at the paint ball couldn't hurt part.]

We could dress up nice for it. [And then get it covered in paint! :D They probably had suits to wear over it, but that wouldn't be as fun.]

If I feel like doing it, you mean. [Just putting up with it for now. He gets a free show. Watching him before stepping closer to rest his chin on Kimblee's shoulder.]

[fulmination]

It's a good thing I have a few dress shirts that have a few stains. _{[Don't forget the bruises!]}

Is dancing really that awful? _{[Kimblee chuckles and continues to lead Vanitas through the motions.]}

Not as fun if it's already ruined. [Turning his head to look at Kimblee's neck.]

Not really my thing. I don't understand the appeal. [And he ruined a ball with one of his critters before! It's just swaying and moving. At least he's keeping up and not stepping on toes.]
